My friends together with our families were looking for a getaway to celebrate our birthdays found a home away from home in this beautiful serene place. All of my friends and family felt very at home in this house. We even have pictorials in this well decorated house. (looks like the decoration was done professionally) The property was well kept, very clean. If you love to cook or bake, everything you need are already in the place. Our kids love the boathouse/dock. The moment we arrived even after our very long travel, our kids can't wait but jump into the water. Need to rent a boat? Only 7 minutes away from the house and it is very affordable. One of our favorite things to do in the morning is to wait for the beautiful sunrise... The sight is so breathtaking. Sheryl is always a phone call away everytime I needed something. I have already recommended this place to my friends and even we have not left yet, my husband already told me that we are definitely coming backRecommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

Great house for large family. Very comfortable and a beautiful view of the lake. We had 1,2,4 and 12 year- old kids that had a wonderful time. The crib, highchair, gate and toys were perfect. The "older kids" had fun too! My parents have beautiful memories of their 60th anniversary and we do too.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This house was more than I could have ever imagined. It just had everything for our family gathering of grandparents and our two families with a total of 12 people. The pictures don't give the true perfect picture. We spent the entire day on the water on our boat (skiing, wakeboarding, tubing and fishing) and also rented jet skis and in the evening enjoyed the serenity of the calm with the kids in the bunk room watching a video. We are already planning to go back next year. TRULY A TRANQUILL COVE IN PARADISERecommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

Everyone in our large group of 14 raved about this gorgeous Lake Chatuge retreat. The house is professionally decorated and exceptionally well maintained. We had tons of room to spread out for either rest or entertainment, but the screened in porch and expansive boat dock complex was the focus of most of our time. The internet pictures depicting the views of the lake and surrounding mountains do not (could not?) do justice to what you will see in person. Close enough to the local culture, but far enough away to feel like a genuine getaway. If you are looking for a lakefront property in the NC/GA mountains for a larger family...look no further.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

This home is perfect from the minute you open the front door. The owners have taken their home and opened it up for all to enjoy. This is no ordinary rental, this is a well maintained home that is beautifully decorated with all the amenities. After renting several homes in the past, I have to say it was nice to come into a bed already made. And those little things you don't think about like hand soap, paper towels, toilet paper, kitchen supplies. Sounds silly, but trust me nice to have when you walk in the door. How thoughtful she was to have a basket with 2 beach towels and inner tubes for swimming as a welcome gift. She was quick each day to respond to emails with questions always concerned about our enjoyment. We all Loved the dock area so much. We rented a Jet ski for the day and it was nice to pull right up to the dock area. The hill is quite steep to get there, so someone older may have difficulty getting down or back up for that matter. But you will get your exercise that's for sure. Bad thing about this house is you wont want to leave for surrounding activities or to go home for that matter. We had ages 53yrs - 2mo old staying here with lots of ages in between and no one wanted to leave. You won't regret renting this house. We can't wait to go back again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This home was just perfect for our family gathering which consisted of our three children and their spouses and our seven grandchildren ranging in age from 16 to 8 months. The description and pictures we reviewed caused us to rent the property;however, upon arrival we were stunned at just how fabulously decorated the home is.It had everything we needed for all age groups even childrens toys. The game room and video games were a big hit. The owners, in particular Sherri, were outstanding. A welcoming gift which included the makings for smores over the firepit was a rousing success with the kids. We appreciated the packet of information on the area etc but we had everything we needed on the property. We have already shared our own pixs with our friends and several have expressed an interest in renting as have some of our family members. This was the best family gathering ever primarily because of the location, accomodations, amenities and beauty of this property and the majestic views. We will rent it again!!Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2004
About the owner: My husband is a real estate developer, and I am a marketing strategy & research specialist. We have two sons, one at UGA and one in 2nd grade. We live in Atlanta, (Virginia Highlands) and try to escape to the mountains whenver possible. We also have a great beach rental in Santa Rosa Beach along 30A and we decided this year we would also offer our mountain retreat.
Why the Owner Chose Hayesville:
Being so close to Atlanta, Tranquil Cove is the perfect get-away. Travel time from Atlanta is only two hours and some change and it provides such peace and serenity to an otherwise pretty hectic life. We love the water, fishing and shopping and this location is the perfect place for just that.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
You can play golf, enjoy watersports, ride horses, visit great boutiques, eat great food and even enjoy Goldhagen Glass Studio just a stones throw away. Watching the artist blow glass is such a treat.
