Many 'Lidos' serve the clients with umbrellas ,loungers. refresments and lunch/ dinner on the water.
Some of the small restaurants have no set menus'They serve the catch of the day'.

The food of the south: the local food is as good as it gets.
From the local gelato at Rinaldi's at the piazza del tocco in Gerace,to the fancy restaurant, the small trattoria, the pizza,the food is the delicacy and irresistible.
Do not eat too much of the appetizers, everything tastes so good you want to leave room for dessert;
Do not forget to sit out at nigth and have a granita,then sit by the 'Bombarde' the balcony to the world of Gerace
Perhaps it is the sun or the water or the ripeness of the fruit,butthe granita it is incomparable.
Strolling through the cobblestone of Gerace, it's a pleasure to grace through the barriers shops the most exquisite ceramics, linen, lace. At Christmas time the churches have manger scene; they compete with each other and they are very artistic and unique. Famous composers performed concerts in the churches at Christmas creating an atmosphere that brings you back centuries after the concerts the most delicious hot chocolate takes away the chill.

Villa Rosa exceeded all of our expectations in every way, everyday. The pictures show a beauty, but the real villa cannot be captured for it's panorama, aroma, hospitality, location, size, and on. We were picked up at the train by the owner's sweet, loving & helpful cousin. The owner's sister, who was in town, helped find our italian family in a nearby city & took us to Greek sites. My mother & I hiked everyday all around the villa& when we weren't resting in this peaceful spot, we were shown the markets, beaches, ancient town' homemade candle shop, pottery studio, anything etc. Its paradise! Thank you My new dear friends for everything. Sorry it took so long to write this!! We will be back!Owner response: Thank you Diana I am so glad you had a chance to experience the "Legendary hospitality "of the south of Italy. Hope to meet you and your family soon and I am offering Villarosa to you as a backdrop for the new book you are about to write.. I knew every one that has been at Villarosa would take home the essence of Italy in general and Gerace especially. You and your mom have left an indeleble mark in the hearts of all that have met you ,often they ask me when you are coming back... You are loved in Italy You are loved in Gerace Rosanna
