You can have it all. Coral reef, sunsets, white sand, placid aqua waters, lapping waves, fresh water pool, are all right there for your enjoyment and just a couple of steps off the deck. Delight in the golden sunsets, turquoise waters and lavender skies while lounging in air conditioned comfort. Bayside Hideaway is located ocean front at the quieter eastern edge of West Bay Beach which was voted by National Geographic as one of the worlds most beautiful. Coral Reef is just a short swim from shore. There are PADI dive operators, restaurants, shops and a deli all within an easy walk along this gorgeous stretch of white sand beach. Gumbolimbo Park is also a short walk away.
This is a home away from home setting by waters edge with a fresh water pool, split air conditioning units with remote controls in each room. Master suite has a king bed and second bedroom has a full size bed and bunk beds. The building has a quiet, automatic switched backup generator. Beach towels and ample linens are provided.

The perfect location on Roatan.....only 40 feet from the water on our own private beach. Everything went as promised.....no hitches or glitches. Kevin was waiting for us when we (4 guys) arrived and gave us a quick run down on how to use the facilities, along with advice and recommendations about Roatan. The condo was fully equipped with bottled water, kitchen utensils, towels, bedding linens, soap, shampoo, sun tan lotion, bug spray, cell phone, full time maintenance man, even a stocked spice cabinet! The fridge & BBQ could be upgraded, but worked fine for our purposes.....keeping the beer cold and grilling steak & lobster. Las Rochas (200 feet down the beach) has a restaurant, bar, dive shop, and served to screen us from the West Bay Beach crowds when the cruise ships were docked. This is the perfect place to stay if you want privacy with all the amenities, and quick access to West Bay Beach or West End. We will certainly be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

What a fantastic place. The location is probably the best on the Island. You have a very private beautiful beach and jet are not more than a 2 minute walk to the west bay beach. You can have all the privacy you want and still enjoy the more developed areas of the island by either a 2 minute walk to west Bay or a 2 minute water taxi ride to the town of Wens End. I will recommend this condo to any and all that want to ge to Roatan. The best scuba diving in this hemisphere!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our stay was wonderful! This was a very comfortable rental with lots of room. Very quiet location, and a short walk around the corner to West Bay. Snorkel right from the beach to the reef! First trip out to the reef we saw an eagle ray and a razorback eel, along with lots of fish. Deck was great to relax on and having the pool was an added bonus. We were met at the airport as promised, and after a short stop at the supermarket, arrived at the rental. The local property manager was there upon our arrival. He was very thorough on showing us the rental and making us feel welcome. Having filtered water in the kitchen was a good amenity. The resort right next door has a dive shop, restaurant and bar, and the water taxis are always happy to stop and pick you up. We would definitely stay here on our next trip to Roatan.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family of 4 including my 5 and 6 year old daughters stayed for 2 weeks January 2013. This was our 2nd year staying at Bayside Villas. The West Bay HideAway has beautiful furnishings with picture perfect views of the beach and incredible sunsets. The best snorkelling in my opinion is right out front of the house. We saw barracudas, lionfish, octopus, lobsters, squid and pretty much every fish on the Roatan fish ID card! With small children, it is amazing to be off the main beach but just a hop skip and jump away from all of the restaurants. We really only spent 2 days on the main West Bay strip, we were happy to explore and stay right out front of the house. Linda, Kevin and Jensen were excellent as usual. I would reccomend Bayside Villas and if we ever visit Roatan again will be staying right here!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This rental was better than we anticipated. We were met by Jensen at the airport who delivered us to the property. Excellent service. Also, the onsite manager was there when we arrived and showed us around. There was more of a personal touch versus other VRBO rentals we have had in the past. The positive: location cannot be beat. A one minute walk places you right at West Bay. It was nice to be just on the outskirts of West Bay and not have any of the noise or distractions with staying in the heart of West Bay like some of the other resorts we considered. Another positive was that we both thought the unit was much bigger than what the photos showed. There was only two of us, but the villa could house a family of 4-6 comfortably. Lastly, the beach in front of the house was about 30-40 feet from the villa. Excellent sunsets most of the nights. Things that could be worked on: the grill is not operable. We were able to use the neighboring villa's grill as it was vacant for a couple nights. My wife also states it would be nice to have Wi-fi, but that may be a difficult task considering the logistics of island living. This was a great stay and we both recommend the property. PS: For diving, we used Tyll's. They were excellent, but we did have to take a water taxi some of the times, thus incurred an additional cost ($3/person each way). Owner response: We are all pleased that you found Bayside Hideaway to be better than expected. I would like to clarify a few things. One has to do with the beach. It sounds like the beach is 30 or 40 feet away when in fact it is the water that is 30 or 40 feet away. You step off the deck onto the beach' walk 30 or 40 feet and you are in the water. There are several very good dive shops in the immediate area ~ one is next door; one about 2 minutes walk away another two about 5 minutes away away and another about 10 minutes walk away. Internet is available via two means: one of which is for standard USB port devices and another for Note Books and such. Much of this information is provided via a files of information sent to guests, or FAQ page on a personal web site or via email or telephone communications. I have VoIP out of the US and can call Canada and many other locations at no charge and do so with guests a lot. My goal is the help guests make the most of their all too infrequent and short holiday. I was an engineer so I know the long hours people put in working. Again, thank you for the review. Linda Kay

We had a wonderful stay at this rental. It is in a quieter location than the places further down, but it was perfect for us. My husband and I have crazy schedules, so this place was perfect for a wind down. The water in front of the condo isn't the best for swimming, but just take a 3 minute walk to West Beach and that will make up for it. The condo must have been closed up before we got there, because there was a musty smell that lingered for days. I purchases some scented candles that helped. The satelite TV wasn't working in our unit either. I would recommend some actual glass glasses. There were only plastic ones available. Linda was great about identifying potential site seeing and restaurants. We were picked up by Jensen, a very fun and informative guy, who also took us on an island tour. The island tour cannot be missed!! Camp Bay and La Sirenas made the whole trip worth it! The bugs were as stated also! I would bring some citronella sticks or something for sitting outside. Linda's bug spray worked very well!! I had brought some with me but hers worked the best. The sandflies didn't seem as bad further down West Bay Beach either. The internet is cheaper from Los Rocas. 14 days for $35 versus 7 days for $27 from Captain Van's. The customer service was fabulous. John's response was immediate to anything we needed attended to. All in all it was a great trip and we intend to return!Owner response: We appreciate the folks from Canada pointing out the areas which needed improving and what is so right about Bayside Hideaway. Heidi is correct in determining that the villa had been shut up for a while. This home had just become one of Roatan's Tropical Island Villa's shortly before Heidi stayed with us. She is right though in that it should have been aired out and there should have been a good supply of glasses and other kitchen equipment. I'm sorry but TV satellite is problematic there. The swimming is not the best in front of Bayside but the snorkeling definitely is. In the info that I send to guests, I have asked they bring incense for repelling insects on the deck. I think it works better, smells better and is not as problematic as candles. Incenses is not easily found on the island. We are very fortunate to have Islanders like Jensen and John members of our team as they represent so well what I have always enjoyed so much about the island and that is its joyful, helpful and sincere people. About the owner: First visited West Bay Beach in 2001; bought there in 2002; moved there in 2003; loved living there for 6 years. Our son came back to the US and we moved back to be near him.
