We loved our stay at the Volcano Singing Forest Cottage. The cottage is roomy and very nicely furnished. The Japanese soaking tub is HUGE and pure luxury. The hot tub warmed the body from damp cool outings. The kitchen was nicely equipped and we only went out to eat a couple times. I love being in the ohia forest listening to the birds singing. Watch for the flit of red between branches to spot the endemic apapani. Firewood was furnished but it was damp and there was no kindling, so we did find it a bit challenging to get the wood stove lit and the chill off the room (and we are used to making fires at home). However we would happily stay here again. No complaints. We found it hard to get out the door in the mornings because it was so pleasant to be indoors. This is a very private and beautiful home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers.

This is a lovely home that seems new and very up to date. We enjoyed the great location next to Volcano Park and the little town of Volcano where we could grab a bite to eat. The weather was quite cold though which made the home chilly and the fireplace wasn't enough to keep it warm. Small touches like a hairdryer, books/games, cooking supplies would be nice. The bed was luxurious and the back porch was lovely to relax on and listen to the birds. Beautiful home and a nice stay overall.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway.

About the owner: My husband ,Tommy is from the islands. We met in 1974. We moved to the Big Island in 1975. From 1988 to 2003 we owned operated a Bed and Breakfast in Volcano. We have now returned to the hospilatity field after traveling to SE Asia for the last 5 years.
Why the Owner Chose Volcano:
We lived in Volcano for the last 32 years. We think it is very beautiful. Located at the 2800 ft. elevation mark it is cool and refreshing from the lower elevations. Surrounded by large native tree and the upcountry rainforest tree ferns intermingled either with foggy mist or bright blue skies. It is beautiful.

Volcano is something to experience on your Hawaiian vacation. Great restaurants, Norman Rockwell Volcano Village and of Hawaii volcano National Park with its erupting volcanoes and many trails. Our home is only minutes from these great things.
