Our cabin celebrates the best of life - the timeless pleasures of family, friends, laughter, and reflection. It summons us to a simpler place and time. It was built for good conversation, deep cups of coffee, and guiltless afternoon naps. Autumn here practically begs for a picnic; you have found the perfect escape for quiet, peace, and serenity, sunrises and sunsets over mountains when you visit for a long weekend, or a week.
Admire the vibrancy of the honey-hued wooden interior walls as you enter this beautiful 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, two level log home. The spacious living room provides all new comfortable furniture including large flat screen TV, perfectly placed around the stone fireplace, and a great place to watch your favorite football team. Prepare and enjoy tasty meals in the fully equipped kitchen and comfortable dining area, where you’ll find seating for six that is made from 100 year old reclaimed wood. Try outside dining on our octagon shaped picnic table after grilling on the large gas grill. We also have a washer & dryer in case you drip a little BBQ sauce on the new shirt you just bought at one of the outlet stores. The cabin is fully equipped and furnished and just waiting for your arrival.
You will have no trouble bringing the whole family since we can accommodate up to 10 people. Family Making Memories has a king-sized bed in the main level master bedroom, one queen in the second bedroom, and two queens in the third, and a queen sleeper sofa if needed. You can watch TV in the privacy of your bedroom or just catch up on your rest. Entertainment will be a breeze having a game room with pool table, along with a game table, so bring your favorite board games or cards and let the fun begin. Or after dinner, relax in the great outdoor private hot tub. This cabin offers WI-Fi so bring along your laptop and stay connected with the rest of the world and those back home that are hard at work while you relax and enjoy the Smokies. Located just around the bend is our resort swimming pool and clubhouse, summertime fun in the sun is no sweat! All of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg’s action packed adventures are just a short car ride away.
Pull over for cider and a bag of boiled peanuts. Stop at the river and look for trout. Hop out and see where that nature trail leads. Be curious. After all, you are on vacation. Just returned from a wonderful trip to Pigeon Forge- The cabin is as pretty as it's pictures. We were very pleased with the furnishings in the cabin. My children loved the hot tub and game room. The gas fireplace came in handy on our 1st night as it was a cold 35 degrees. Thankfully we did not have to use it the rest of the weekend as we were in shorts by Saturday. That's the crazy TN weather for you! Thank you so much for sharing your cabin with us we look forward to returning soon.Recommended for: Families with young children.

This trip was for our annual girl's getaway. There were 6 adult women,1 infant, and 2 toddlers. We had plenty of sleeping room (including room to set up a pack-n-play for the baby), which was a must after those long days of walking and shopping the outlet mall in Pigeon Forge, and the unlimited shops and attractions in Gatlinburg. This cabin had everything we needed. The only thing we had to purchase was more toilet paper and paper towels. There were plenty of extra throw blankets/quilts for the beds to use on the cooler nights. I was pleasantly surprised with the convenience and location of the cabin to the Parkway, just a quick short ride. The leaves were gorgeous and the rest we had was much needed. The cabin is beautiful. We will definitely stay here again, if our girl's trip involves us staying in the Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg areas. I have used the VRBO website many times for duck hunting trips for my husband and son in locations one would not think there were rentals available, girl's trips, and mother-daughter getaways. I cannot change my nickname information on here, and it says "Perfect for hunting", I used that nickname for a hunting trip the whole family went on. This is not an area one would be able to hunt in.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

Upon arriving to "Families Making Memories" saying we were disappointed would be an understatement. It was late in the afternoon when we arrived and immediately noticed that the cabin was dirty. Thinking that it would be 'ok' we started to get things settled in. After we returned from the groceries and began to put things away things became more and more concerning. The bottom of the refrigerator was a solid sheet of ice. After spending 30 minutes taking care of that and drying the bottom of the fridge we put things away. We started cooking dinner and found there we hardly any pots to cook in, there were three pots total none of which were big enough to hold a meal being cooked for a family of 4. There was not one pan to use other than a cake pan. There wasn't even a measuring cup! The cabin is listed as being a fully stocked kitchen. The dishes that were there were filthy, everything we used had to be washed before using. I immediately told my children not to use anything without it being washed first. I didn't come on vacation to spend two hours washing dishes. There were cob webs with spiders EVERYWHERE in the cabin. In the upstairs bathtub there were spiders nested in the jets! The bathroom upstairs was dirty; the tub had to be cleaned before I could let my children use it. The shower did not work in that bathroom. In the bathroom downstairs the toilet was stopped up and had to be plunged in order for it to flush. After taking a shower, when I closed the curtain the entire rod fell on top of me! It was apparent that nothing had been cleaned, it was picked up but the amount of dust and dirt on everything showed us that we were in a dirty cabin. When we got up this morning and got into the refrigerator the crisper drawers had partially filled with water, ruining the food we had inside! The wallboards were full of dirt, dust and spider webs and spiders. I became concerned about my children's safety and feared that they would be bitten by one of the many spiders as I was bitten by something in the cabin, my arm was swollen and red. After speaking with the management company we checked out. The management company asked if we wanted to check out we said yes!!! I asked the management company how he would refund our money, he clearly stated, “I will take the total amount of money you paid and divide it by four (the number of nights we had paid for), deduct one night that you stayed from that and send you the rest.” when we received the reimbursement it was oOwner response: Joy, From time to time we do get a guest that is not happy with one of our cabins. I believe we started out on the wrong foot when you called me at my home after 11:00 pm a woke me up to dicuss renting this cabin last minute. After you checked in and called, we did state that we could have housekeeping come and re-clean the cabin but that was not a satisfactory answer. We did state we would reimburse the unused portion of your rent eventhought our terms and conditions clearly state there are no refunds as most all management companies also state. You did cash the check we sent so I'm not sure how you arrive at no refund. Craig

We had a great time at Family Making Memories, the cabin had everything we needed for a good stay. We rented 3 nights and got the 4th night free so we will be back soon.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Family Making Memories, it was easy to find, clean, and had everything we needed to make a big breakfast. We like the fine furnishing in the cabin, the grill on the deck was great, we used it a couple of times in helped us to save on the cost of eating out. The rental company was easy to work with, they gave us all the information we needed to make our vacation one to remember.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

Tom and I enjoyed our time at this cabin, it was nice and clean, it was close to the shopping malls, yet in a peaceful area. After a long day the grill on the deck and the hot tub make our evening special. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting some time away from home.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.
