The Pine Cottage, also known in the past as the Honeymoon Cottage, is beautiful both inside and out. All the rooms have been remodeled. The two bedrooms, Queen and Double, have gorgeous Pottery Barn Bedding and air conditioning. There is also a living room, dining room, bathroom , kitchen and Sunroom. Outside the cottage is surrounded on all sides by perennial gardens. The front porch is a good place to have your morning coffeee at the umbrella table looking out onto the lake. The renters have use of 350 feet of private beach, 2 kayacs kept right on our beach, and their very own sundeck overlooking the water. Tennis (we have our own private tennis court), shuffleboard, horseshoes and croquet are also available. The propery is large so privacy and solitude is part of the package. Adirondecks chairs are situated all over the property and can be used by the renters for relaxing, reading or chatting. The cottage is only 6 miles south of Lexington with its boat marina, darling shops and good restaurants. Art shows, live theater, and Friday-night-in-the-park are just some of the many wonderful events occuring in Lexington. A Very Memorable Stay!
A Very Memorable Stay!
My wife and I just spent a wonderful week at the Pine Cottage. The nicely decorated cottage is super clean, cozy comfortable, quaint and darling right to the cushy bedding. The grounds are surrounded by beautiful and colorful well-tended gardens. Plenty of birds, butterflies and other wildlife to observe and enjoy when not swimming, kayaking, biking or relaxing on the beach deck, porch or Adirondack's. Our host's were very accommodating and gave us plenty of tips regarding bike paths, restaurants and local happenings. One tip...Surf Mocks or similar will help when walking over stones before getting to the smooth sandy waist deep water just a few yards out from the beach. We'll definitely return to this gem and we recommend you consider booking a stay!

A slice of heaven
A slice of heaven
This is one of my favorite vacations in the last 25 years. From our hosts, to the cottage & gardens, our front porch lake view, our deck, Lake Huron, the kayaks. It was a quiet, peaceful, restful week. Everything was as described (which is not always the case!) and clean. Haven't stopped talking about it to friends! Because of Comcast issues, we couldn't watch tv but we could, & did, watch movies every night (no tv meant avoiding the annual argument between dad and child that we weren't on vacation to watch tv!) Lots of books and movies to choose from in the cottage as well. Wonderful bakery up the road open for weekend tourists (Fri-Sat-Sun mornings!); spent some time in Lexington at the shops (my daughter fell in love with two stores there), had a good meal at Steiss' in Lexington; a drive up M25 to Port Sanilac and Port Austin and a drive south to Port Huron where we did a boat cruise. Not a hopping bed of activities but we weren't looking for that this year.

Beach cottage with KayacsGuest comment entered by owner
Beach cottage with Kayacs
Thanks for a wonderful stay. The cottage itself was beautiful and the grounds were gorgeous. But as you can tell our real love was the kayacs. The weather was perfect and the lake was quiet. We brought our raquets but with such a great beach, we spent ours days there. I bet your deck was never used so much!! Thanks . We hope to see you next summer.

Boating and Tennis at the "Honeymoon" Cottage
My husband and I found this adorable cottage with all its great amentities unsurpassed by anything else we have ever stayed in!! The bedrooms are exquisite with bedding you were never expect to see in a summer cottage. The kayacs were a real plus. We had are own private sundeck and even brought our tennis racquets. We played shuffleboard for the first time and really enjoyed it. We plan to return next summer. Thanks again for your wonderful hospitality.
