I stayed at Anne's Cottage for 10 nights and I loved it. I found it roomy and clean and very comfortable. I've rented other smaller VRBO's in Eugene before and this one had the nicest layout and furnishings. Having two baths was great and having a master bath attached to the master bedroom, and one as large and beautiful as this one was a huge bonus for me. I also enjoyed having a second flat panel TV in the master bedroom; perfect for when you want to cozy in and wind down for bed. I seriously could have made this my home full-time. But having it as my part-time home was a wonderful experience. I hope to rent it again on my next trip.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: I'm so glad you enjoyed your time at Anne's Cottage. We look forward to your return! Best wishes, Thea and Jeff

My wife and I, joined by our oldest daughter from Portland visited our youngest daughter in Eugene (go DUCKS) and stayed in Anne's Cottage...the perfect home away from home. It had everything we needed and Thea and Jeff were kind enough to provide us with organic coffee beans, tea and milk. We will be back during one of the U of O football games!!! Thanks Thea and Jeff!Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
Owner response: I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you will return someday! Our concept for Anne's Cottage is to make it a relaxing and comfortable retreat. Glad it sounds like we achieved this for your family. Thank you for the review! - Thea and Jeff

Anne's Cottage is a cute little cottage that reminded me of home. We had a lovely stay there over the Eugene Marathon weekend and can't wait to come back to visit. The property was well taken care of and the owners were very kind to accommodate and cater to our crew. I highly recommend this property and will definetly be back next year!Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Frankly, I would prefer not to write a review as I would like to keep this place a secret so I could make sure it isnt booked when I need it. But the owners are just too nice and too accommodating to allow me to succumb to my selfish motives. Lovely place, very nicely furnished, very appealing in all ways. Plus, you couldnt ask for better "landlords" who do whatever it takes to make you welcome and your stay totally enjoyable and hassle free. As a simple example, they asked what kind of coffee I wanted to have greeting me when I arrived. I told them in a return email and jokingly noted I liked my coffee with raw sugar. So what greeted me when I stepped inside? The coffee I asked for and a new bag of raw sugar to take me through my week's stay. It says a lot. Lovely backyard and sitting area too. And from time to time, if you are lucky, you may even find a couple of very docile deer visiting who come down from the woods to say hello. Really, no negatives at all, just positive feedback in all respects.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for the heartfelt review! You are very candid (referring your wish to keep this place a secret) -we know you are not kidding :-)! We love to have you and your family stay at the cottage.

We stayed at this house while visiting Eugene, and were lucky to find this home. The owner has made it very comfortable for guests. It is private and quiet and conveniently located. The owners live close by and were helpful when we checked in. We will stay here again..most VRBO rentals in Eugene have a shared house with the owners, or are poorly furnished. This house is a charm.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We are pleased you enjoyed your stay and look forward to your return! -Thea and Jeff

Anne’s Cottage in February We stayed at Anne’s Cottage for the month of February and had a wonderful time. Coming from Iowa in mid-winter, we were delighted to be visited by a little hummingbird every day just outside our kitchen door. The house is attractively furnished, and Thea and Jeff have thought of everything to make a stay at Anne’s Cottage very comfortable. I was pleased that the house depicted in the photos was exactly as I imagined it. The location is convenient to many of our favorite places including The Pizza Research Institute and Market of Choice. I cannot imagine a more pleasant place to stay. We are already planning our next visit and look forward to sitting on the pleasant deck for breakfast since it was too chilly to do that in February.Owner response: Thank you so much for your kind words. I was also pleased to hear about your little humming bird! Our year round resident is Anna's hummingbird (fitting for Anne's Cottage :-) - Looking forward to hosting you again! Thea

This was our third stay at Anne's Cottage. It is a real gem. Very clean, well maintained, and full of everything anyone could need. Thea and Jeff go out of their way to be thoughtful of what visitors might need, and make sure their guests are happy. I would recommend Anne's Cottage to everyone who visits Eugene--but I don't want it to be so popular that we can't stay there again. For sure we will be back!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for your kind words. We're delighted that you have enjoyed the cottage and look forward to your return! Best wishes, Thea and Jeff

I and my daughter's family rented Anne's Cottage last week to attend the Thanksgiving holiday with our extended family congregating at my son's home in rural Eugene. The home was well equipped and accurately described on VRBO. We were easily able to make holidays dinners to transport to our family gatherings. The washer/dryer was a great help, and the location well situated for us to commute around town. We had the opportunity to meet the owners who are very nice, and helped us with the Internet connection.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
Owner response: We are glad you enjoyed your Thanksgiving holiday at Anne's Cottage. We enjoy opportunities to meet our guests and help make their stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2009
About the owner: We (Thea and Jeff) met in 1995 in Arlington, Virginia, where we were both working for The Nature Conservancy. Once married in 1999 we were living in San Francisco and took a road trip through Eugene. After a hike up Mt. Pisgah, a klezmer music concert at Tsunami Books and a warm bowl of soup at Cafe Zenon, we hatched a plan to move here. Two months later we arrived with a Uhaul! We love Eugene. This town has a soul. Now with two children we have come to know Eugene from a new perspective. Eugene has been good to our family.
Why the Owner Chose Eugene:
Thea's mother, Anne (from Schenectady, New York), was looking for a place to spend a few months of the year closer to her grandchildren. This home was perfect for Anne. She enjoys having her grandchildren over for sleepovers and likes to have us all over for dinner. It has also been a pleasure opening the home to guests. It makes us happy to think other people are enjoying it as much as we do.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We loved this home when we first walked in. All the ceilings are vaulted. The master bedroom has a lovely remodeled bathroom. The kitchen is ample and there is a laundry room. Whenever we walk in it's like coming home. Since Thea's mom stays 3 months of the year it has been nicely furnished. As she loves to cook, she has supplied the kitchen with everything you might need for a sophisticated meal.
