We just returned from what was our fourth stay at this lovely vacation home. Our family has stayed in many vacation rentals in the past and this one is one of our favorites. The beautiful sandy beaches, the sunsets and beach walks will be remembered for years to come. The location can't be beat and the owner is always quick to respond to any questions we have. Although we have vacationed in the area many times we continue to find new adventures. Our three teenage girls look forward to this trip all year. The bike ride from Montague to Country Dairy for ice cream was a new favorite this year (on rented bikes from the Book Nook and Java shop in Montague). We would highly recommend this property and have treasured our family trips to this cottage in the past!Owner response: We couldn't be happier welcoming guests back year after year, adding to their vacation memories with more great days at the beach and new discoveries offered in the surrounding area. Do a lot, or do very little, that's what vacations are all about! Join our every growing list of renters and returning renters who have found our lake side cottage to be a vacationer's dream!

If you are looking for the dream MI sunset, you've come to the right beach for it. The house is large and clean. Airy layout made the hottest summer of midwest like lake breeze. Short walk to the beach and convenient river to lake is a surprise and very welcomed to my two little kids. Hours of beach sunshine and stary nights are amazing. my 5 yr old say sattelites first time in his life.Owner response: When it comes to lake front cottages, easy access to the beach is on everyone's short list. Indeed, the short walk (120 ft) and no steps to our beautiful sandy beach makes the cottage location ideal for all. Add cozy comfort and generous proportions and you have it all. Come witness your own amazing sunsets and starry, starry nights!

We spent a wonderful long weekend in this cottage, everything was great!!! The weather was magnificient and the kids even swam in the lake. The beach is wonderful, the sand so fine and clean. Our parents loved the place and we had enough space for 8 persons. Originally we wanted to visit the Silver Lake Dunes and Pentwater but in the end we just didn't want to leave this comfortable cottage. The kitchen was well equipped, we cooked every day, you might want to buy a few more cups, a cutting board and a sharp bread knife. The furniture is lovely and the whole atmosphere of the house so cosy and nice. It was great to see the kids playing in the sand from the big window and to have no steps to beach. We took advantage of the beach chairs and the games in the house. Such a relaxing place!!! We will surely come back again we had such a wonderful time at your place. Thanks for renting to us!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Unfortunately our recent stay was marred by droves of flying carpenter ants emerging from the upstairs wall in the bedroom and the loft. Not very restful for our family. The year before was much better. The owner wasn't very sympathetic. I hope the problem gets fixed. The improvements in the kitchen were great. Nice, private location and a price that is hard to beat.Owner response: We pride ourselves on having a clean, comfortable rental cottage for vacation enjoyment and addressing issues promptly and thoroughly when they arise. The carpenter ant appearance was indeed unfortunate. When informed of the situation, we immediately contacted a professional exterminator for advice and a treatment plan. The problem has been rectified with no further recurrences.

My family and I just returned from our annual week at this house. As usual, it is fully equipped with everything a family needs (including beach chairs), lots of room, great beach. We always ate dinner on the outdoor porch. The improvements to the kitchen & bath, and new furniture make it feel so homey. Quiet location as well. Highly recommend this rental property. Not too far from Michigan Adventure or Silver Lake/sand dunes.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: It's hard to improve the experience presented by our beautiful lake, sandy beach and quiet, wooded environs. So we focus on making the cottage experience itself, better and better. Our returning tenants assure us we are contributing to making their vacation time enjoyable and relaxing and we continually strive to make this happen. Come see for yourself!

My family of four just returned from a week in this rental house, and we've been raving about it to everyone we know! If you like seclusion you will love this property. Our kids could not get enough of the private beach. The sugar sand is amazing and the beach was clean and very relaxing. My five and three year olds were able to play in the water without any worry. There is a sand bar that my five year could easily walk to with me. He thought it was great to be so far out in the water and it only came up to his waist. We looked at so many houses online, and most of them had many stairs to climb. This house had none...just a path through the dune grass leading straight to your private beach. Ahhh! While the house is older, it was still nice. We had everything we needed, and more. The front porch was where we had all our meals. The view is incredible. Our boys loved the guitar and keyboard upstairs and made up their own "rock and roll band". There are also plenty of games and puzzles to play with. If you have a 4x4 the driveway will be no problem, but it's a very steep incline so a car may not take it as easily. Silver Lake was nearby, and we visited the dunes several times. The boys ran and ran the dunes, never tiring of it. They loved watching all the "big toys" playing in the sand. We rented a Jeep and took the tour that Parrot's Landing offered. It was so much fun! Also recommended is the Mac Woods Dunes Ride. It's like a roller coaster/truck ride along the dunes. We hope we can make the trip again next summer, and this house will be where we rest our heads! Thanks for the memories! Monica, Chad, Jackson and JamesonRecommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
