All the comforts of home plus great views and gas fireplace!
All the comforts of home plus great views and gas fireplace!
We prefer to stay in a comfy house rather than hotels. This one was particularly nice insofar that it was very clean, very airy, very open and very well appointed. Although my husband has limited mobility, he was able to get up the few steps onto the deck to get into the house (good hand railing). The shower in the MB was large enough for his shower chair as well. The kitchen was great. There were plenty of plates, paper towels, trash bags and the like for our 3 day stay. We even hosted a luncheon. Liz was very thoughtful about having these things. The view is probably great. We had rain and fog for most of our stay, so couldn't take advantage of the decks nor fire pit. But we did use the REMOTE CONTROLLED gas fireplace. It was very cozy. We also appreciated the bench at the bottom of the bed for dressing. The beds are a bit high - we used a chair to get on and off. The outside motion sensor light was nice too for when we forgot to leave an outside light on. Of course we used the wifi! We never turned on the TV, but there was one there. Please not, if you are going during snow and ice time, you might need a 4 wheel drive to get up some of the steep hills to the house. All in all, this was an excellent house and we would return in a heartbeat.

Very Clean & Beautiful views!
Splendid house to visit Asheville. So close to everything we chose to see. The Blue Ridge Parkway was minutes away and we swam in a waterfall and saw Looking Glass Falls. Restaurants in this area are all good and there are ones close to the house to get a quick meal. The owners are very helpful and everything was up to par and done with detail. They did not leave anything out. We enjoyed the hot tub and watched hummingbirds on the deck. We had a wonderful time.

Great Views & Comfortable!
We loved our visit to the mountains! 4 days was not long enough. The Blue Ridge Parkway was just minutes away and so was Downtown Asheville and the Biltmore Estate. We went Hiking and bought local pottery. Downtown had really great restaurants. Our favorite was the Lobster trap. Never had a bad meal. Angelo's restaurant was close by the house and Friday through Sunday has big breakfasts that are very reasonable in cost. It looks like a big log cabin. The house was very cozy and really spacious! Loved sitting on the deck with the mountain views and the sunsets were amazing! We will be back for fall!

We came up to the Chalet to spend the NYE holiday and it was absolutely perfect. The property owners were extremely responsive and helped make our stay a pleasurable one. Tucked into a mountain side with beautiful sunsets, this a great weekend get-away.

Manager response: Making our visitors comfortable is important to us! We hope everyone has a great vacation in the mountains. Thank you!
We stayed for 7 days and it was truly a wonderful time. This home is spacious and comfortable. We were close to Ashville but also close enough to make day trips to places like Grandfather Mountain and Cherokee. The views are beautiful and we enjoyed the gas fireplace in the living room. The beds are so comfortable. If you like country cooking, visit the Moose Cafe in Ashville. Liz was so helpful and was available to answer all of our questions. We look forward to going back next year.

We stayed in this wonderful home for 4 nights (2 adults and a toddler). We enjoyed watching the sun rise and set on the deck and taking in the amazing views. For us, the location (just outside of Asheville) was perfect! We went into Asheville everyday but truly enjoyed the peace and quiet of this neighborhood in the evening. Also loved the decor, huge windows, and beautiful gas fireplace. 4 days wasn't enough...can't wait to come back again! Thanks again, Liz, for everything!

So Much Fun!
We enjoyed the stay and hope to be back soon. It is so nice being close to Asheville yet on a mountain. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home and making everything so easy. We loved visiting the Biltmore Estate. We do want to see it for the holidays. We had a nice time sitting on the deck and seeing the beautiful sunsets across the mountains. It is such a special place to be. We took your advice and went to see Gladys Knights house nearby. Lake Lure was also fun.

House in Asheville
House in Asheville
I stayed here with adult family members. This was my first experience in renting through VRBO and I learned quite a bit. For example, I learned to get the fine print before renting. After you confirm here, you learn that you are provided with only starter soaps, toilet paper and paper towels. They did provide us with enough supplies for our stay, but we didn't know that until we got there. Also we learned that we needed to empty the trash and empty the dishwasher the day we left. While I don't mind doing these things during the week, I don't want to be the maid on the last day. We never made it to Asheville in 10 minutes, though we did realize a few days in that we were taking a longer route than we should. We didn't have an TV in the upstairs living area so that was a problem for someone who'd had 2 knee replacements who wanted to watch tv. There was room for it, but it had been removed. We also rented the downstairs. We could never get the downstairs cool enough to be comfortable for the person staying there. The house itself is nice; the master bed and bath were comfortable and nicely appointed. Good size for a family of 4 adults. The deck was nice and we enjoyed sitting outside.

Manager response: We do supply complimentary starter items to our guests. Guests are thankful if they arrive late. There is a grocery store close by. We do have two flat screen TV's. One located in the living room upstairs and the family room downstairs. HBO, other movie channels, sports, and music are all available. The house is located within 15 minutes of Downtown depending on where you are going. A very easy drive. Directions & maps are provided. Our description is located on our VRBO site. The main level has 2 bdrms, 2 baths, large living room, dining area, kitchen, deck & laundry. The main level has about 3 stairs to it from yard to deck. Lower level has level outdoor access and staircase inside house. Lower level consists of third bedroom & bath, & family room. The house is around 2,300 sq. ft. Room enough for 6-8 people. We do encourage all guests to read their agreements before signing. Guests do have a grace period if they decide to cancel after reading it. It is required to remove garbage to outdoor bin and clean dishes prior to checking out. These items can produce some pretty bad smells especially in summer months. We like to keep our properties fresh for future guests. The cool air in the downstairs would have been an easy fix since the air vent was closed. We encourage our guests to call us if they have any questions or concerns before or during their stay. We are happy to make any repairs or fix any issues. Thanks, Liz
We spent two nights at this lovely mountain home and wish we could have stayed longer. It is spacious and clean with a great balcony and gorgeous views. The beds are very comfortable. The owner, Liz, is wonderful to deal with. Downtown Asheville is a 10-15 minute drive. We highly recommend a stay at this mountain chalet.

We Loved The Location!
We loved how close we were to downtown Asheville though on a mountain! The views and the sunsets made us wish we could stay longer. We hiked the Blue Ridge and took in the local music. The Biltmore Estate was a fun day trip and we bought lots of items at the wonderful shops in the cozy town. We could not believe the president ate at the Corner Kitchen there. They had great food! We visited Black Mountain which was full of local crafts and so was the Folk Art Center. Great Time, Coming Back!
