  Couldn't have had a better trip. This was our second time in Costa Rica in three months and this was by far better than I had planned. Ivan hooked us up with his water taxi from Jaco and we pulled up on the beach right in front of his house. The location is key right next to the tiny town of Montezuma. Everything is mere paces away. The house itself was huge and so cozy with three master bedrooms and three master baths. I will definitely recommend this to everyone I know and return next year..

  My family, (my wife, mother-in-law, and 2 beautiful children), spent 3 weeks at Casa Rutter. This is the second time staying in this remarkable beachfront home. Our family of 5 was very comfortable in this spacious rental. The home is situated on Montezuma's main beach, central to everything the town has to offer. You feel quite secure with the police station adjacent to the property. It was common to see the police patrolling the beach and Ivan's property. The house is very unique with barn-like doors that can be opened to let the ocean breezes flow freely through the house. Hammocks are strung on the spacious front porch that has a wooden table which seats 8-10 people, lending to entertain friends. A gas grill on the deck offers a chance to test your culinary abilities with fresh fish and lobsters the owner offers on certain occasions. The owner and his wife stop by now and then to check to see that their guests needs are fulfilled. Maid service comes every few days to clean the entire house and change out linens and towels. The kitchen has everything you need to cook in if you want to budget your travels. A satellite TV is available, but rarely sees any action. WiFi is available for your internet needs. It bears to mention that some "unfortunate" misrepresentation of this property has occurred through fraudulent websites on the internet. Be sure to communicate with Ivan or his business manager, Javier. This is the second time my family has stayed at this home and if lucky, many more stays will follow. I HIGHLY recommend this property for experiences that will last a lifetime. THANKS to Ivan and Francesca, and the ZumaTours staff.   My 2 younger kids and I stayed at Ivan's house and it was wonderful. It had all the accomodations needed and the beach was right there. Ivan was very helpful and his tour company "Zuma Tours" handled all of our excursions. They all took really good care of us and we are looking forward to coming back again.

  Ivans house was an amazing place to stay in Montezuma!!!!! The location is perfect! Ivan was an amazing host!!!! My father, brother, uncle, aunt, and family friend stayed here for my wedding!!! My family absolutely loved the location, right on the beach, next to restaurants, and right in paradise. We all had an amazing experience for my friends and family it was home base for us, and a place where we all came together and had a blast! Montezuma was an amazing place to get married. We also had an awesome experience while we were there with the full moon and the humogous waves!!!! Hope you were able to repair the fence to your house Ivan! If we ever go back to Montezuma we will definately stay here again! Also if you want to go snorkeling, or anything adventurous he will hook you up! Muchas Gracias Ivan! Pura Vida! Nikki

  The house is very good. The service is superb. The house is right on the beach, and at the edge of this bustling little town. The furnishings are of very good quality, and the house opens up wide to the sights of the landscape, beach and ocean. The kitchen is well-equipped. One of the bedrooms is air-conditioned. The house is comfortable and inviting. But the owner, an Italian of long Costa Rican residence makes the experience truly wonderful. He is warm, friendly, intelligent, and stands ready to fix any problem or make anything you wish happen. But he's not in your way if privacy is your desire. He brought us fresh lobster he had just caught. He brought us fresh snapper just out of the water. He provided us his home coffee grinder when we asked about that. We had a problem with a car rental, after we had already left his house, and he rescued us on that. I'd rent his house even if it were a shack, and not the nice home it is. His support staff excellence reflects well on him. Bravo!

  Our family of three and another family of two stayed at Ivan's last December (been meaning to post this for a while!!) and we had a phenomenal time. The house is Wonderful!! It's very open and being right on the beach the ocean breezes came through regularly. It was an IDEAL location especially having two small children (both 3) in tow. We were able to swim right in front of the house, walk to the waterfalls, and town. Everything is conveniently located around Ivan's house. Montezuma is a awesome, small, hip town. Ivan himself is WONDERFUL. He brought us fresh tuna and even prepared it for us. A truly gracious host with a wonderful family. We definitely would have LOVED to stay longer. We definitely would recommend this place for anyone wanting a spectacular, relaxing, authentic vacation and it's great for kids too!!

  We stayed at Ivan's house from the 15th till almost the end of July 2012. It was simply a wonderful experience : the owners (Ivan and Francesca) were so friendly, generous, always available and helpful with anything we might need; the seafront view was gorgeous; the house unbelievably comfortable, nicely located at few meters from the center of the village. Our kids and our two little chihuahuas enjoyed themselves and my wife, our friends and I too, of course. I would strongly suggest anyone to consider a vacation here, even for a few days.

• Paradise!

  Ivan's house truly made me and my new husband feel like we were in paradise! There is nothing quite as amazing as being able to step out of the backyard and instantly be on a beautiful tropical beach, and just walk around the corner and be in town. I was very pleasantly surprised by how centrally located Ivan's house was, yet still far away enough to be peaceful and serene. When we arrived the fridge was stocked with beer and fresh-caught fish. Ivan came by to check on us and make sure we were having a great time, and helped us set up a tour with Zuma tours to Isla Tortuga; it was great. The kitchen has everything you need to bring home a nice bag of groceries from Super Montezuma and cook yourself a nice meal, and enjoy a fresh cup of coffee. At the same time it is close enough to town to walk over and eat anywhere you want if you feel like it (I personally recommend Sano Banano! yum!) For those concerned about safety and security, everything in the house locks up and there is a safe box to keep all your valuables in. On top of that, Ivan's house is right next to the police station. You are in good hands here. What really made our stay here perfect was the adorable little kitty that came and kept us company during our stay. My husband and I have two cats, who we were missing very much, and when we saw this little guy in our yard our first day we were excited. He hung out with us most of our stay! So if you are a cat lover, look out for the little grey and white kitty -- he is so sweet and will provide plenty of cuddles and play time, as long as he is not hungry ;)

  We haven't even left yet and already wish we could stay longer. Montezuma is a great little town. Everything is close to ivans house. Ivan is a wonderful host. My wife and I came on our honeymoon. The house was way too big for us. 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. Very equipped kitchen. Ivan recommend two awesome restaurants and caught us dinner the other two nights. We even showed up to cold beer in the trudge. Thank you Ivan. Ciao
