Hanalei is a laid back surf town. The backdrop of the lush green mountains, and multiple waterfalls, combined with the easy pace of the locals and nearly 2 miles of white sand beach make Hanalei the only place for many island guests.
Hanalei Bay is known for its crescent shaped beach and its landmark pier. Beach access is easy and parking plentiful. Hanalei Bay is a wonderful ocean playground to learn to surf, fish, watch sailboats, paddle board, swim and boogie board. You can rent a kayak and travel down the Hanalei River that empties into the bay and travel out into the pacific. You can stroll through a small shopping village with quaint little restaurants, surf shops, shave ice and casual art galleries.
Rated as the #1 Beach in the US in 2009, World champion surfers and athletes call Hanalei home, Hollywood comes here to unwind. Come see why…you won’t be disappointed.

We spent a week at this lovely home with two of our children and their spouses. We had a 13 month old and a 5 month old. The house was big and had a great kitchen which we took full advantage. Going out to dinner with little ones would not have been fun. We took the great hike at the end of the road and had great views of the Kauai coastline. The farmers market nearby was very cool as well. We walked the short distance by the taro fields to town almost every day. The surf was pretty high when we were there but still got the babies down to the water for their first Hawaii experience. We traveled back to Tunnel Beach and had our photo taken showing the same background as 25 years ago on our honeymoon. We had a wonderful week of family time in a great location.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This property is absolutely gorgeous. From the 360 degree views of soaring mountains, palm trees, and taro fields, we were awed at every turn. Inside, the lovely house is spacious, spotless, and comfortable. The eight people in our family included 2 seniors and two kids ages 9-12, along with some 40ish adults. The adults enjoyed the airy great room and the very well outfitted kitchen and second story patio. The kids enjoyed the pool, the pond, the grassy yard, and exploring the tributaries of the taro fields filled with fish and ducks. We could walk to Hanalei beach or walk downtown for shopping, coffee and restaurants. It was a 15 min drive to the Na Pali coast for hiking or more beaches. On Hanalei Bay we swam, learned how to surf, and did lots of excellent boogie boarding. Even though this property is close to all the highlights of Hanalei, you feel as if you are away from the world, nestled in your own tropical hideway. In the morning you will be greeted with the sounds of frogs bellowing, roosters crowing, and birds calling... so bring your earplugs if this is not your idea of fun:-)Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Wow !!!! We arrived at night with great directions thanks to Brian from Aloha - could hardly wait to see the road through the taro fields in daylight - the house was absolutely stunning and totally lived up to our expectations - its a very short walk to town and all the restaurants - first night was bit restless as roosters seem to crow anytime, bull frogs in the pond croak all night and there are night critters that seem to tap morse code on the windows - we loved it !! Only small negative you have to tippy toe upstairs so as not to disturb those in the downstairs bedrooms (just get some earplugs) - we would definitely stay again and totally recommend this rental to anyone our stay was only 5 nights and not nearly long enough we tried few of the restaurants and best one was The Dolphin Sunset on the terrace at St Regis in Princeville a must !! Helicopter tour from Princeville a must !! enjoy this beautiful home as we did ... we will be back !!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.
