As one of our guests once said about this condo, 'charming' is an understatement! Very cozy, spacious and nicely furnished loft, about 1,000 sq.ft. within the city walls. Fully equipped kitchen, washer & dryer. Lots of character with stone and brick walls, original pine floors, cathedral ceiling, exposed beams, on third and top floor of building. Queen size sofa bed in living room. Bedroom on mezzanine with queen size bed, walk-in closet, computer desk and chair. Cable and hi-speed wireless Internet. This natural light-filled corner unit with direct view on the Laurentians, Esplanade Park and the National Assembly is only steps away from the Plains of Abraham and close to everything.

My wife and I just returned from a months stay in this property. I will be brief, but want to confirm that what has been said in previous reviews is true. It is the "Creme de la Creme."Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: As this guest commented upon departure, you will want to come again: "We have enjoyed our stay in your condo. It is as nice as any we have stayed in all over the world. We will stay here again. Thanks - Tommy"

This was our first visit to Quebec City. We were here to visit our daughter who is here for the year. The apartment was perfect, everything we needed to feel at home. Location couldn't have been better with proximity to attractions, shopping and out of city access. Despite the cold weather outside, the apartment was always warm and welcoming. We would have absolutely no reservation about recommending this as a place to stay.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Thank you Odette for opening your absolutely lovely condo to guests such as us. We are very much enjoying our stay in your beautiful condo. Everything is perfection... decor, accoutrements, location, and of course the views from each window! And each day of exploring Quebec brings new delights... This ‘home away from home’ is perfect. Our time here was full of new experiences and new tastes. We loved walking the cobblestone streets, and exploring the many wonderful ancient buildings. We toured the National Assembly, Museum of Beaux-Arts, the Museum of Civilization, we walked the wall and the Governor’s Promenade almost every day, we biked along the St. Lawrence and ferried across to the Levis bike path, always stopping to take in the beautiful views. We heard the wonderful Swingle Singers at Palais Montcalm and attended a cello recital at the Conservatory of Music. And tastes! Rabbit Pie and Planked Salmon at Lapin Sauté, Duck Confit at L’Entrecote, Venison Tartare at Panache, crepes at Le Billig, Salmon Coulibiac and pheasant at Aux Anciens Canadiens, Poutine [why not!] at Chez Victor, gourmet dinners at Chez Boulay and Pain Béni, luncheon at the Frontenac and the Parliament and so much more!!Did you find this review helpful? The apartment was very comfortable but had a few changes in the decor. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The apartment and the building were very clean and the kitchen was stocked with everything thing you need to cook, even spices! The location was wonderful with a view of the horse carriages and a green area and Parliament. Odette was very helpful to address any questions. We were in between Parliament and the Hotel Frontenac which provided lovely walks during the day or night. The stairs were be a bit of a problem at night as the bathroom is downstairs and as seen in the photo, no handrail.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: When Beverly arrived with her husband and saw the place, here's what she said: "This is even nicer than in the pictures!" The few changes we made do make the place even more attractive.

The condo has been very comfortable and we are so glad that we have been able to be here. Having the kitchen and several rooms so full of light and fresh air along with the lovely view, made us feel that even when we were too tired to go anywhere, we were still enjoying the sounds, ambiance and beauty of this fair city. We will surely come again...Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

The stay in Old Quebec was fantastic. Having such a beautiful place to be call home made wandering around one of the most romantic and architectural cities that I have been to that much more special. The apartment had beautiful views and the sound of the horse drawn carriages. clip-clopping on the cobblestones, coming in through the windows was perfect. Our girls were so impressed they spent the first 20 minutes we were there doing a photo shoot of how beautiful everything was designed and decorated. It was conveniently located to both sites to see during the day and the fun restaurants and nite spots. I would return in a heart beat. Very special place.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Another family totally satisfied and pleased with our property and its location. For ski lovers, Mont Ste-Anne is only 30 minutes away and offers shuttle bus service just a short walk from our condo. Families with children will be well served by two other ski resorts even closer to home: Relais-Lac-Beauport and Stoneham are a mere 15 minute drive away and perfect if you prefer the more family-oriented ski resorts.

My husband and I recently spent some time in Quebec City. When we entered the apartment, tired from a long drive that day, my eyes immediately lit up at the beauty of it. Charming is an understatement. The several windows were all wide open, there is a view of the park across the street with horse-drawn carriages, and a lovely view of the city wall and the legislative assembly. It was a sunny day with a light breeze which made it even more picture perfect. The apartment is immaculate and there are even some basics in the fridge like orange juice, milk, butter, etc. There is a nice collection of guides, pamphlets, maps and other information helpful to tourists. Parking is directly across the street which was very convenient. The apartment is centrally located and you can walk anywhere in the old city and even outside the old city. My only suggestion might be that the apartment is filled with natural light, which is fabulous, but if you like a dark bedroom to sleep in, be sure to bring a sleeping eye mask with you as the bedroom gets bright early. Overall, that is a very minor point, and I would recommend this apartment to anyone visiting lovely and historic Quebec City.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: The bedroom now has a window covering. We have yet to install a remotely controlled blind in the skylight above the stairway. We are working on it. Thanks for your review, Sonia.

The apartment was just like the photos - gorgeous views and easy walking distance to everything. We loved hearing the horse carriages clopping by, and the romantic feel of the apartment, and the "old city". . . it was a beautiful place to stay.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Heartfelt thanks to Diane and all the guests who dedicate some of their precious time to writing a review.

The pictures capture nicely the interior of this charming and cozy top floor condominium centrally located in the heart of Old Quebec City. The views of Parliament are remarkable, and for equine enthusiasts you will be pleased to have storybook horse drawn carriages just across the street. The Plains of Abraham (or Battlefields Park) is "one of Canada’s most important" and picturesque historical parks. It's only a 5 minute walk from the condominium and is the perfect setting for a walk, jog, roller blade or picnic. It's beautifully landscaped and is home to one of the nicest museums I've ever seen (Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec). There are two very nice grocery stores within walking distance, a good gym (Nautilus Plus), and plenty of great restaurants. Casse-Crepe Breton (a short walk from the condominium) has wonderful crepes, service, a great ambiance and good prices. Most people here speak English, so if French is not your native language you shouldn't have any trouble navigating the city. Québécois are friendly too. The landlord here is terrific. She's communicative, responsive, conscientious, thoughtful and speaks fluent English. The high-speed Internet is very reliable and the washer and dryer was a great addition to this charming condominium. The neighbors in the building are very friendly and the summer is a beautiful time of the year to spend in Quebec City.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: This guest stayed five months. If he speaks so highly of our property, you can take his word for it!

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2010
About the owner: We have owned this magnificent property for three years. Acquiring it was no less than a dream come true. Our condo is located in a heritage building that dates back to 1834-35, when it was built for a wealthy merchant by the name of Henry Atkinson. The exterior is made of the Sillery-Cap-Rouge sandstone that now forms part of the Québec fortifications and the walls of the Citadel and that was used to restore the Saint-Jean Gate in 1938.
Why the Owner Chose Quebec City:
We love spending time in Québec City for everything it has to offer. The property is very comfortable, charming and the location couldn't be better. Several times a year we travel to Québec City to enjoy the place and the surroundings. You too will think it is worth the trip. We look forward to welcoming you there. Until then, please check out the Reviews section for the many positive comments we received from our guests over the last three years.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Being just steps to everything while enjoying the privacy of this property overlooking L'Esplanade Park is something you will truly value. And who wouldn't like waking up to the sound of horses' hooves on the cobblestone, or seeing a groundhog during a morning walk on the Plains of Abraham just around the corner! In addition, those who like to stay connected while getting a breath of fresh air will be happy to know that there are wi-fi hot spots for free Internet access in multiple sectors of the Plains of Abraham.
