Cedar City cabin description

Enjoy magnificent views from the huge deck of our hilltop home at the base of Pine Valley Mountain, while enjoying one of several outdoor fire pits. Dark skies make wonderful stargazing from the comfort of the hot tub or with a telescope from the deck. No ordinary vacation rental, ours is a 50 ACRE RANCH with tons of activities and amenities. Catch-and-Release fishing in our PRIVATE FISHING POND stocked with Rainbow Trout is free and $5 per kept fish (limit 2 per guest). ATV trail ride right from the ranch into the Bumblebee Mountains with hundreds of miles of roads and trails through juniper, pine and aspen forests. Our barn boasts more than just livestock, although there are plenty of animals, it has a partially enclosed theater, pool table and other games. The kids love the animals; fallow deer, sheep, goats, horses, cows, pea foul, chickens, geese, ducks, rabbits and more. Finally enjoy a game of horseshoes or Frisbee golf in the pasture or enjoy the shade of the cottonwoods at the picnic area by the stream. **WE ONLY RENT TO ONE GROUP AT A TIME, so in essence this will be your own personal ranch for the duration of your stay.

The home itself is a semi-rustic cowboy themed getaway with three bedrooms, three baths, and hide-a-beds that can sleep 10 with floor space for more. Dining sits 16 between the dining room table and bars. RV’s are welcome.

In addition to the activities on the property the attractions within an hour from the property are vast. These include:
The world famous Tony award-winning Utah Shakespeare Festival
Tuacahn Amphitheatre
Zion National Park
Kolob State Park and Snow Canyon State Park
Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park
Brian Head Ski Resort
Quail Creek and Sand Hollow Reservoirs (Boating & Fishing)

Of course southern Utah is world famous for its desert landscapes and outdoor activities including hiking, biking, rock crawling, climbing, hunting, fishing, shopping, dining, and only 1 hour and 15 minutes to Mesquite, Nevada for gambling and nightlife.
Keep in mind that this is a semi-rustic working farm, where animals and adventure abound. If you are looking for something unique and a little off the beaten path, this is definitely for you. Also, beware that the nearest store is the gas station 15 minutes from the ranch. We are situated in New Harmony, Utah. Nestled between the Pine Valley Wilderness and Bumblebee Mountain about 1/2 way between Cedar City and St. George 5 miles west of I-15. The weather is mild and comparable to Cedar City which is only 25 minutes north. St. George is a little further at 40 minutes south.

Harmony Haven is an excellent choice for vacations, family reunions, weddings, company parties, and more. In addition to nightly rentals we offer wedding and event packages, please call for details.
Fishing at our private stocked pond is free for catch and release and only $5 per fish kept on the Honor System. We supply several fishing rods and some tackle but you are welcome to bring your own. We do not provide ATV’s or horseback riding.

Great house! Lots of room had 12 of us and we all had room. Home is amazing with fun themes and lots to look at inside and out. Owners are the nicest people, really thought about everything. Kids had a really great time were never lacking something to do. The only problem is you have to leave :-(, we had such a wonderful time did not want it to end.

Our family stayed here in order to hike the narrows in Zions. The location was about an hour away from the entrance to Zions, so it was away from the tourist crowds. It was a little hot in the upstairs bedrooms in the evenings even with the A/C running, but the downstairs bedrooms stayed cool enough. There were a lot of mounted animal heads and hides hung around the house, and the kids loved feeding the deer, goats, and birds down by the barn. It was very windy while we were there, but the kids and a few adults slept out on the deck and for one night some slept down in the tree houses. The home is build up on a hill, and you walk down a ways to get to the fishing pond (the kids caught & released a lot of big fish!), the animals & barn, and the river with the tree's and tree houses. Each evening we enjoyed the view from the HUGE deck, which overlooked the pasture below full of deer and wild turkey's grazing. They had a dog tied up near the barn, but he was very friendly with everyone. Watch out for the big friendly goat, as she knocked down one of the small kids (butted her to the ground -but that's what goats do). I would recommend this property to anyone with kids who like animals, and doesn't mind being woke up at dawn by the birds (roosters mostly). We would stay here again, but probably when it's not so hot.

The owners of this property were so great and easy to work with, very nice, easy going good people. The property is stunning, the house is awesome! My family and I loved the big deck overlooking Kolob Canyon, you can't ask for a better southern Utah location to stay. There is plenty to do in southern Utah but once you get to the property you won't want to leave, there are so many things to do! I'd recommend this rental to everyone! I hope to make it a yearly trip down to the property. This is a great place for families to spend time together and enjoy the animals, fishing, games, star lit skies, barbecuing, and watching the animals that pass through the property at sunset.

We had the pleasure of staying at Harmony Haven with all our siblings and kids. There was plenty of room for all of us. The best part is that there were so many things for the kids to do they never complained about being bored! They played frisbee golf, jumped on the tramp, played in the tree houses, hiked around, fed the animals, relaxed in the hot tub, and best of all played in the game barn. We all loved playing air hockey and pool. Jan and Kendall are very kind, and took time to make sure we got the most out of our stay. They even allowed our kids to help feed some of the animals, which the children loved. The deck is huge and offers an amazing view of the mountains. It is really beautiful. It is very private and quiet. We didn't leave the property during our stay. We would definitely recommend this rental to everyone. There is plenty to do, and the view is priceless. We've already gone back a second time during the fall and really enjoyed watching the deer in the fields. This is a great place to stay and we highly recommend it!

This was the most amazing property! The views were magnificent, the house had everything you could want to make your stay comfortable, and it was so fun to see all of the animals up close. My only regret was that we didn't get to stay longer. I will be returning soon!

Our family of 7 spent a fun filled week at this amazing property. There was so much to do that we spent a lot of time enjoying the amenities. The kids loved fishing, the animals, the party barn, and the xbox to name a few. We all enjoyed roasting hot dogs and marshmallows over the fire pit on the deck, star gazing (away from the glaring lights of the city), and of course, the hot tub. The owners were very kind to show us around and to help with any questions or with anything we needed in general. Very sweet people! They even let my daughter help collect chicken eggs, which she loved! We took advantage of all of the great places around. We spent several days at Zions and Kolob Canyon. We also went to Snow Canyon in St. George where we enjoyed a hike to an inactive volcano, and the kids enjoyed playing in the red sand. What a great place! We would definately like to do it again sometime in the future!

This property is so unique! My family and I had a blast. The kids loved the animals and the fishing pond. The adults loved the views and the hot tub. It's only a two bedroom, but has lots of space and with the hide-a-beds, we all slept fine. We had a few kids on blow up matresses, but they loved it! Our group of 14 was cozy inside this lovely home. The ranch hands, staying on the property were very helpful and informative on activites and questions. With the private gate, it was as if we had the world to ourselves! We will definately be back and will be telling all our California friends to come enjoy a mountain getaway, minutes from town and natural wonders, but far enough away to have privacy and relax!

About the owner: We love the outdoors and the beauty and many activities of Southern Utah's diverse desert to mountain landscapes. Harmony Haven is our life’s dream and we love our little ranch and reside here year round. We care for the animals and maintain the property all the while enjoying all of the activities available to our guests. The idea to first share our ranch came when a local organization arranged for a young man with leukemia to fulfill his lifelong dream of wild turkey hunting which we arranged for him and his family; then came a couple of wedding ceremonies and family reunions with the Kolob Fingers in the background and soon it evolved in to a full time vacation/event property. Our children are all grown, though they and our grandchildren are here as often as possible, so the two of us were able to move quite comfortably into the small bunk house where we enjoy our ranch from a somewhat less elevated vantage. We appreciate your consideration of our rental and are sure that you will enjoy your stay as so many guests before you. -Jan and Kendall

Why the Owner Chose Cedar City:
Although we enjoy the occasional vacation to big cities, we are small town people who love Utah's outdoors. We decided to purchase this property because it is centrally located between two cities, albeit relatively small cities, that have everything we could want from dining, movies, golf, shopping and more. As far as we are concerned though, we have the rare privilege of coming home to peaceful mountain views with wildlife and farm animals in our pastures and ATV's and fishing from our front door.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
There is a private fishing pond on the property stocked with bass and trout and catch-and-release fishing is free and does not require a license. You can ride ATV's right from the ranch a couple of miles and into the mountains. We are surrounded by some of the most scenic state and national parks in the country and have the advantage of being close to St. George with all of the activities it has to offer without the summer heat.
