  We spent a relaxing, fun filled week at this impeccably clean and airy house. The placement on the beach was great with two preschoolers and the porch was a good place to hang out when we weren't in the water. We found hermit crabs in the tide pools that formed on several days to everyone's delight. The house was perfect for two grandparents, two grand kids and their four parents. Just the right number of rooms and bathrooms and plenty of space for all to relax and play. Also loved that it is located just west of the sea wall but close enough to stores and activities that we could do easy trips for food and fun. Try the ferry if you can - we saw the dolphins from it. Also, the new Pleasure Pier was fun in September - no lines. We all agree that we would like to return soon to this house. The owner is easy to reach and helpful.

  Very clean (inside and out), right on the beach, and all appliances worked perfectly. Our family is now scheduling to come back every year.

  We had a beautiful experience even though there were some unforseen happenings... Mark was more than accomodating! The beach was lovely. The house was huge... beautiful... clean... perfect. We loved it. So spacious. Great beach. Such a wonderful time and a memory we will always cherish for so many reasons! Can't wait to return... We love Galveston and Sunny Beach!   . . . and that included several preschoolers. We had our long awaited beach vacation at Sunny Beach. GALVESTON IS BACK! Much of our time was just playing on the beach, which was a quick walk right out the door. This owner provides several plastic chairs, a tent, boogie boards, and even a surf board you can take to the beach. Most meals were at the house. The Strand, the Pleasure Pier, Moody Gardens and so many other fun things to do. The favorite of the little ones was the ferry ride (which is free) and feeding the sea gulls. For us it was a trip for grandparents, children and grandchildren. We used the covered deck all the time, including for some meals, and chill time after the little ones went to sleep. Although it is a "public" beach, there are poles in the ground prohibiting drivers to go on the beach in front of the Sunny Beach houses. The house was clean and ready when we arrived. The security cameras were a plus. The owner was quick to respond to any questions. Our favorite meal out was at Fisherman's Wharf. 61st street has several stores and a pizza place. Kroger's and Wal Mart are only minutes away. Can't wait to do it again!

  We were having some remodeling work done to our home, so decided to rent a beach house on the West end of Galveston. This house was fabulous. Everything is very clean and up-to-date from the furnishings (both inside and outside) to the the flat screen TV's in every room. Being a true "front row" house adds a lot to the experience - the main room opens right up to the Gulf as well as the morning sunrises over the horizon. The seaweed was thick on the water's edge when we arrived, but the beach was graded on Friday so that plenty of clean beach was available for the remainder of our stay. A walk on the beach in the early morning or evening is our favorite beach activity, but we would sit on the covered porch area with our favorite beverage and enjoy watching the kite surfers during the day. Another thing we liked about the location was the proximity to restaurants and shopping in Galveston even though we did "eat in" quite a bit. Michael's Cafe just up the road was our favorite place. I also have to mention one more really great feature about this particular beach house. We have rented several places on the west end over the years. This is the only house we ever stayed in that had a HOT water shower downstairs! I actually looked forward to coming out of the surf and rinsing off before going back upstairs. To summarize - we would absolutely stay here again.

  Our family took a 4 day vacation at this immaculate beach house and our kids are still talking about it! The house is literally on the beach. On the weekdays there was no crowd at all and the kids played in the sand and water all day. There are TV's in the living room and bedrooms (4) but we never even used them because of the great beach! One day, the beach was loaded with pretty shells and the very next day some seaweed washed up and our kids caught all kinds of crabs, shrimp, fish and clams. They watched them in buckets of sea water all day then released them at night back into the ocean. If you have young children who are explorers, you will love this location. On the weekend, the beach became busy really fast because it is a public beach, but the owner has a screened tent that we put up and parked a couple cars next to it to stake out the area right in front of the beach house. Just south of the beach house there is an area where cars cannot park, so it was much quieter when we walked just a few feet over to play on the beach on Saturday afternoon when it was at its busiest. The house has nice paved parking for up to 5 cars below it and the paved area made a good spot for clean up after the beach. The bedrooms (4) all have beds (king in 2 and 2 doubles in the other 2) so no troubles with trying to sleep on bunk beds. For our young children, we just brought some bedrails with us and we had no worries about them sleeping apart from us. The kitchen is very well stocked. We cooked all of our meals and never even needed to leave the beach house the whole trip. We brought our own crock pot, but there is a good blender and mixer which we also used. The covered porch was gated and was wonderful for the children. When we were busy cooking or just needed a break inside the beach house, the kids ran around on the porch and watched their sea creatures for an hour or more at a time because it was safe with the gate. They did not really even want to come inside except for meal times. The owner has security cameras installed, so we could also monitor the oler children when they were downstairs on the paved area. The temperature was just right and a walk on the beach at night was really lovely! Great place to stay!

  We are long-time vrbo renters, and we rented this house over the long Easter weekend. The website's pictures were glorious, and the house was as well! It was extremely clean, well-stocked, even with beach equipment, and the down stairs area was great! The beds, linens, and beach towels were excellent quality. He also was flexible with check in/out. Definitely a top-dollar rental. HOWEVER, the picture of the clean beach from the deck is EXTREMELY misleading, Driving/parking right in front of the house and on the beach were allowed. It sits on a corner of the beach and a public road, which is a long driving area with public assess.There are no houses to the right on this road. There are dunes, and that is the public restroom that we watched all weekend. The driving/parking area is also in front of 3 homes, this one being on the corner as stated. Police had to be stationed at the entrance of the road (in front of this house) because the crowds were so dense and rowdy on Friday. It took 6 police officers to remove the crowd Friday, and we (my children and older parents) were witness to a group-arrest right in from of the house...handcuffs, police vans, etc. They did station police during the day Sat/Sun, but the crowds were unbelievable..so loud. The minute the police left, the crowd got out of hand again; we had to call the police at 10 pm and 2am on Saturday to remove people who were doing unbelievable things. We could also not use the beach in front of the house (except for Mon when he had to leave), as there were lines of cars there continually, even early in the morning. We had to drag our stuff 5 houses down to the no-driving section to set up. (Holidays are probably worse, but there are still cars around due to public access.) On the site, its location with driving/parking access are not disclosed, and the owner had stated that the driving should be removed from in front of his home, but it was not. (new city ordinance). That is not his fault, but keeping the cost/ night as stated, when it what was not as advertised, is. I sent pictures of police arrests and crowds to him and informed him everytime we had to call the police. Apologies were made for this unfortunate situation, but we still had to pay top dollar for this terrible inconvenience. Seems that being close to town justifies this high price?? He did offer to let us stay into the week, but of course, we had school/ work.INQUIRE about the current status of the driving situation before you rent.

  Owner response: We have spoken with the renter about her bad experience Easter weekend and expressed our sincere apologies. Unfortunately, this weekend was an unusually crazy weekend for all Galveston beaches. The house is adjacent to the access road to a public beach. There are bollards/dividers that prevent people from driving on the beach that we have successfully petitioned to the City to have relocated. So as of May 1, 2012 the beach in front of the house will not be accessible by car. We appreciate the renter’s kind comments regarding the quality of the house. We have worked hard with the City of Galveston to clear the beach in front of the house so that it would not be accessible to cars. We hope that in the future that the renter’s will find the beach to be as nice as the house, since cars will no longer be allowed to park on the beach in front of our beach house. Sincerely, Mark

  My family and I stayed at this house over Spring Break. What a place! It had been freshly renovated and it was like new. Poured concrete on the groumd where the cars couold easily be parked underneath. A seperateenclosed shower with cold and HOT water to rinse off after time on the beach and a room with all kinds of beach toys and grills just for the guests. The house easily sleeps 12 and the beds were soooo comfortable. HDTV's in all teh rooms made it easy on the kids and the adults. The kitchen had everything you might need and an easily accessible washer and dryer were nice to have. I will definitely try to rent this same house the next time I go to Galveston. I highly recommend this house. BTW, the beach is literally right out in front of the house. Try it, you'll like it.
