  I enjoyed a very comfortable stay in the "barn apartment" offered by Luger Haus. This is an excellent option for a single/couples. The room was exceptionally clean and very comfortable. I did not need the to utilize the kitchen this trip but the full kitchen is well equipped, roomy, and could easily cover the needs of someone desiring to prepare their own meals while staying there. I was only there one night and elected to sample local eateries! The owners/hosts are very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Luger Haus.

  Fun, relaxing time for a couple of nights. Was a hoot watching Luger and LK playing with each other - both are so friendly, just like their owners. Pam and Warren upgraded us from the barn apt to the bottom floor of the house (we actually had the whole house). Very clean and comfortable. We still want to try out the barn apt sometime . . . We own land about a half mile away and have found a place close by to stay when we want an overnight. Will stay again for sure, and heartily recommend to anyone wanting some time in the Todd area.

  Owner response: Yes, Luger Haus has a new member - a small kitten now know as LK or Luger's Kitty! Luger found him in the woods far from home and adopted him. Todd is a nice, quiet get away area where you can rest and relax but is close to the larger towns of Boone and West Jefferson where you can go shopping or out to eat at the many restaurants. This time of year is great for hot chocolate by the outside fire pit!

  My son and I have a great time at the Luger Haus Inn. Accommodations are very nice and comfortable. Area is peaceful and quiet and the owners are very nice and helpful. Will definitely go back. My son really liked the dog and the new kitten as well. And the restaurant down the road - highly recommend. Food is very good and price is right.

  Owner response: Great place for a father/son get away to do a little fishing in the New River and hiking in nearby areas. The fish may not always be biting, but it is still fun for some "outdoor" time.

  We rented the house & the apartment & loved them both! They were very clean & smelled great! The owners were wonderful & paid atttention to every detail including the "little extras" made us really feel at home. My kids loved playing with Luger & LK. They were so friendly & cute, of course! I hope we can go back in the spring or summer when weather allows some river fun. I would definitely recommend these rentals to everyone!!

  Owner response: Wonderful way for a large family and 3 generations to get together and travel together. Grandparents can "hide out" peacefully in the barn apartment while younger family members shared the house.

  Had a great stay at Lugar Haus. Kids loved playing with Lugar and the kitten! Very peaceful and beautiful in the town of Todd. Went to the Baptist Ch in Todd and fellowshiped with friendly people! Will hopefully be back.

  Our accomodations in the barn apartment were even better than described. Both weekend stays were very enjoyable. Everything was imacculately clean and comfortable. Pam and Warren are perfect hosts. They are there if you need them, but allow you all the privacy you need. Luger is wonderful and friendly. The area is beautiful and remote, yet still near everything. The neighbors are friendly. If you need overnight accomodations or plan on staying longer, Lugar House is a very good choice. You won't be disappointed. We plan on returning very soon.

  My husband and I and our three grandchildren ages 6, 9 and 11 spent two nights at the Luger Haus Inn and had a wonderful time! Upon our arrival we were given a warm welcome by Pam, Warren and Luger, their very friendly German Shepard. They made our stay extremely pleasant and looked after our every need. The house is just across a country road from the New River. Each of the two days we were there Warren rounded up appropriately sized tubes for each of us, drove us to a starting point on the river and then met us two hours later down river to take us home. Our grandchildren checked their chicken house for eggs several times a day and we enjoyed scrambled eggs our last morning. We had a bonfire in their fire pit and roasted marshmallows one evening. The house was beautifully stocked with everything we could possible need. We brought groceries and prepared our meals there. By the way, there is a grill for your use as well. We highly recommend a stay at the Luger Haus Inn. The nearby town of Todd is quaint and charming, offering a General Store and RiverGirl Outfitters for all your river activity needs. Boone and West Jefferson are a short drive away.

  Owner response: Luger has adopted the grandchildren for his own and hopes they come back to play with him soon! Its cooling off a little in after the sun goes down, so the bonfire feels good at night after a day on the river.

  Our family enjoyed our stay very much. Loved the idea that is so quiet and even "the town" is so quiet. We enjoyed your great dog and playing in the river with him. He is a sweetheart.Also our hosts were very helpful and so kind. Hopefully we will be able to return sometime in the future. Thank you

  Our wedding guests had a wonderful stay at the Luger Haus Inn. The location is just perfect; it's scenic and quiet, very easy to find, and within walking/biking distance of all of Todd's amenities and outdoor activities, like the Todd Mercantile & Bakery and Rivergirl Outfitters. The house was clean, quiet, well-appointed, and comfortable, and Pam was a very gracious host. I would recommend this rental to anyone seeking a relaxing vacation in a gorgeous location!

  Absolutely wonderful place for family to meet and get acquainted. Perfect setting for relaxing and playing. The property and the owners are dog friendly. The house and surrounding property was clean, neat, and well-maintained. It just made you feel comfortable and welcome. As there were some last minute changes in the number of guests....the owners were so helpful and flexible. I would very highly recommend this rental property to anyone interested in staying in the mountains.
