Great Family Vacation
Great Family Vacation
My husband, 15 month old daughter and 2 small dogs enjoyed our vacation at the Walleye Cabin. The cabin is cute & very clean. We were greeted upon arrival & given a tour of the cabin & told how to use the boat. We enjoyed the kayak, pedal boat and small beach area. There is a huge yard with swing set, outdoor games & a fire pit with plenty of chairs. Moose Lake was very quiet and relaxing, never too much traffic. We took a short boat ride to Louie's Landing for lunch. Downtown Hayward is lots of fun too - Fresh Water Fishing Museum, Coop's Pizza, Famous Daves and Marketplace Foods for groceries. The Farmstead Creamery & Cafe is very close to the cabin. It's a beautiful spot to sit outside & watch the humming birds while eating gelato. My husband fished every day & my daughter loved splashing in the water. We would definitely stay here again. We are considering booking the bigger cabin next time so our extended family can go too! Thanks for a great family vacation!

Our vacation was wonderful! We enjoyed a day trip into Hayward to do the shops, and then spent the rest of our time fishing on the lake, reading books and playing board games. It was just what we were looking for. We stayed in the Walleye Cabin and it was just right for four people. Our hosts Debbie and Tom were great and helpful. I would recommend this property to family and friends.

September 2011 Trip
September 2011 Trip
We had an excellent time last September. It was quiet, relaxing, and very beautiful to see the fall colors. My wife and I were thrilled that scrabble and monopoly are in the cabin to play during the quiet nights. The cabin was clean, cozy, and had the amenities we needed. There was also a nice binder on the kitchen table with places to go eat and things to do. The bathroom was also pretty spacious. Debbie, the property manager made us feel right at home. We fished most mornings and, would come back up and have lunch on the sun porch. It has a pretty decent view of the lake and, gave us the feeling of being outside while eating. I went down to the boat docks in the afternoon and caught some small mouth and crappie while my wife would read her book on the sun porch. On one mid morning about 100 yards or so up the river from the boat dock, I was fooling around with a jig, fishing from the boat while my wife was kind of sleeping on the other end of the boat. A huge musky appeared right below the boat, close to 4 feet in length, going after my jig and, I shouted at my wife to get her attention while pointing to the fish. Well, sadly it then disappeared and she didn‘t see it. We are definitely going to plan another trip here. One week was not enough time. Thanks for an awesome stay, Debbie. We’ll be seeing you again!

Manager response: Jon, what can I say...it was so wonderful having you visit our resort. The musky fishing story strikes a chord with me; my husband and I had almost the exact same experience. Great memories! I'm really looking forward to seeing you again this year. -Debbie Harvey-Frederiksen
We had a very nice stay at resort. We had problems with our truck, the transmission went out and Johan and Debbie were more than accomodating to us. They came to pick us up and offerered for any help that they could be to us. We were very grateful we chose to stay here, they were very nice people. It is a very quiet and solice resort. I hope to be a guest again. I highly recommend the resort. I hope to see you this summer Debbie:) And our dog Venus was welcome as well...that is a big plus!!!

Manager response: Dale, it was our pleasure to get to know you and your family, including Venus, the dog. The truck incident was unfortunate but when you come to Hayward, it's like coming home. Just a group of friendly neighbors helping one another out. I hope you can make it up again this year. Can't wait to pet Venus. -Debbie Harvey-Frederiksen
