We had a great visit to Cielo Vista! The house was wonderful, nice furnishings and decor. Our family of three was very comfortable in the layout, we appreciated the space and the laundry facilities. The kitchen was roomy and well stocked. The location offers scenic vistas of both the surrounding mountains as well as into the valley below. Winter visitors will appreciate the proximity to Taos Ski Valley, it is an easy drive up the final few miles of the ski valley road. The advantage over staying in the ski valley (besides cost) is a relatively lower altitude. Flatlanders will appreciate sleeping at 7500' vs. the 9500' of the ski area base area. Summer season visitors should also enjoy the location of the house. This property is an easy drive from the hustle and bustle of the town of Taos, which can become congested during the busy summer season. We have been visiting the Taos area for over 30 years and this is one of the best places that I have stayed.

A wonderfully charming and romantic casita nestled quietly away from Seco with beautiful views and all the amenities necessary for a delightful and relaxing Taos stay, whether skiing, sightseeing or just spending some quality time away from all things busy. Though small in scale, the pitched ceiling, multiple windows and charming décor breathe warmth and light into the space. The bountiful backyard (2 acres) is open and perfect for a dog or two to roam about while grilling some grub on the back patio. We felt instant relaxation upon our entry and easily could have stayed another week or two. Easy access to Seco, Taos and Ski Valley is also a big plus. The charm of the house extends to the owner, who is amiable and helpful in all respects. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

Perfect For Our Family
Perfect For Our Family
This is a charming rental located in Arroyo Seco, between the town of Taos and the Taos Ski Valley. Our children enjoyed staying in the 2nd-story loft, which contains a twin-sized bed and stowaway inflatable mattress. The house made us feel very much at home... except it came with a view of the mountains and stars. We traveled with our pet and were pleasantly surprised to find the rental supplied a doggie bowl and a doggie pillow. It was a perfect location to base our trip. Within walking distance is a nearby wooded trail, which leads down to a stream. A short drive will get you to the main street of Arroyo Seco where there are several art studios, restaurants, and shops. A few minutes drive south will bring you back to the old square of Taos and a few minutes drive northeast will get you to the Taos Ski Valley for more outdoor activities. FALL IS A GREAT TIME TO VISIT! We were able to catch the bright yellow aspens set against the emerald evergreens. Our hike to Williams Lake did include snow on the trail to make a very scenic setting, but was not too cold as temps warmed during the day to the 50s. Molly was wonderful to work with and was very helpful answering any questions we had. Should we be in the area again, we would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you, Molly!

Mountain Biking Trip
Mountain Biking Trip
Recently stayed here with on a mountain biking trip to explore Taos riding. The riding was great and this property was a great place to relax after long days in the saddle. Comfortably slept 3 guys. Close to town but far enough away to have some privacy.

About: Our family divides our time between Austin, Tx and Taos. Coming to Taos for the first time in 1992 we were drawn to its mystique and breathtaking view of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. We also loved the idea of being away from the noise and busy tourist area of the Plaza and having a quiet retreat to come home to.
Why Arroyo Seco:
I chose to have a vacation home near Arroyo Seco because of the beauty and privacy the little village offers. The property is situated on two acres bordered by two streams (acequias) and an apple orchard. From the house you will be able to see Taos Mountain and El Salto. The house is located 7 miles from Taos and 9 miles from the Ski Valley. Arroyo Seco is a quaint little village with a wonderful restaurant, dress boutiques, pottery studios, an ice cream shop w/breakfast & lunch and one organic grocery store with a breakfast and lunch menu. We are close to Taos but private enough to have lots of quiet time to enjoy yourself in the naturally beautiful surroundings.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We are a short drive to the Taos Plaza and just a 5 minute ride to Arroyo Seco which is located on the Ski Valley Rd. We enjoy the short walk to Rio Hondo park from the casita which is quick but steep walk down to a peaceful stream and a challenging hike up. Discovering Arroyo Seco is a fun activity to add to your list.
