GREAT Thanksgiving Weekend!
GREAT Thanksgiving Weekend!
My husband, daughter, two labradors and myself stayed at this cabin for three nights starting on Thanksgiving day. We agreed that this was the best cabin we had been to. We have stayed in many cabins together and a lot can be very rustic - after all that is the beauty of a cabin vs a hotel/motel - but this one has all of the amenities and then some. The owner had made a comfy stay for us. All of the wonderful windows, the skylights - especially the one above the master bed in the loft - made it so bright. The large kitchen has everything needed for a long stay including, dishwasher, side by side refrigerator, wonderful range, and oven/convection oven, coffee pot, and a really tasteful set of dishes/glasses/wine glasses, and silverware. The whole cabin felt very clean and as the rain fell, we wanted to "clean up" during our stay, there was adequate cleaning supplies including a vaccuum. Washer and dryer were much better than ours at home as my husband was raving about the dry time. The soaking tub was so relaxing and when my sister and her family arrived for a night - my neice and daughter had a fun time in the tub with the jets. I could say so much more but bottom line is all of us had a great time and made fun memories. The cabin was impressive and I can't believe I haven't mentioned the beautiful river view out back - spectacular! We would definatley recommend this for rental as we have already talked about staying another weekend.

Owner response: I am so glad you enjoyed the cabin and hope you will come again! Your email told of seeing river otters that I haven't seen-so I am looking forward to checking that out too! Thank you for spending time there and for your feedback, Marilyn
Peaceful, restful retreat.
Peaceful, restful retreat.
We had a wonderful weekend. We enjoyed this lovely cabin which is in a beautiful setting. It was clean, the kitchen was fully stocked, and we had everything we needed. A great place for a couple to stay and enjoy. Our only problem was we didn't enjoy going up and down the wooden stairs. But that is just a personal thing. Nothing wrong with the stairs, so it would not be a distraction for others. The owner does not advertise that there is internet, but we were pleasantly surprised and glad to have it. Beautiful views of the river in the back, and gorgeous pine trees out the front window. We never left the cabin, we just needed to rest, relax, and unwind. Thank you.

My husband and I stayed at this cabin on our honeymoon in June. Just saying we loved staying there does not express how much we truly loved it. It's a beautiful fully stocked cabin with gorgeous views and only about ten minutes from great hiking. The house was perfect, a huge bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and heated floors, a wood burning stove in the living room, the huge windows overlooking the creek, and she even leaves robes on the bed for your use. We loved our stay in Washington and at this house and can't wait to come back! We will definitly be staying here again.

It was okay.
It was okay.
The cabin was cute. The kitchen was nice and well equipped. The bedrooms are extremely small!!!!!! The 2 nd bedroom only has a twin bed and the upstairs loft is not at all private (no door). The loft bedroom has only a full bed and it was pretty awful. We were both sore when we got up in the morning. The river behind is very pretty but you can't get anywhere close to it. My biggest complaint was that it didn't feel very clean. The linens were all very stained and the bath and kitchen mats were pretty yucky looking. I cleaned the tub before taking a bath as it looked like someone with dirty feet had walked around in it. My 10 year old even commented on the linens looking dirty, but she really liked the cabin in general. It is a cute cabin with a pretty view, but new linens and some better cleaning would make it really nice.

Owner response: I am not sure how the linens could be dirty when we just purchased and put new white sheets on the master bed, unless someone grabbed some of the old ones that were in the laundry room. As for the bed itself, I have had 2 other guests complain that the mattress isn't comfortable and the full size bed not big enough so next week I will be purchasing a queen bed and new mattress set! The upstairs IS A LOFT so there is no way to have a door on it, and I have not had people complain about that before, maybe because they understand a loft is open. The cleaning lady and I will talk about the cleanliness of it as well, but it is a CABIN not a fancy hotel so people all have different expectations. Anyway, I am sorry that your visit wasn't what you had hoped. Marilyn
This cabin was beautiful in and out. The entire process of: payment, email, entry and exit was easy to use. The only gripes I have are: The coffee maker would not work. Whomever was the cleaning person was, they did an OK job cleaning (Windows streaked, floor not mopped) but they did not replace the dry firewood kindling, and left it out where it proceeded to rain, making the kindling very wet and not usable until the next day. Everything else was absolutely gorgeous. If not for the coffee maker and the fire, it would be 5 stars. I would come again. Toby and Michelle

My husband and I stayed at the cabin for a few nights to relax! What a perfect place to relax and get some peace! The cabin had everything we needed! There was even dry stacked wood for us to use in the fireplace. It was clean and it looked better than the pictures! We would recommend this property to everyone! Marilyn is great and responds quickly to email! We will be visiting the cabin again!

Lovely cabin. Not as remote as I expected, but okay. Clean, modern and decorated well. Loved the reading loft and the cozy upstairs bedroom. Did not like the plethera of light switches. Since I was staying there alone, I also did not like the lack of curtains/blinds as cabin has lots of windows. Creek behind was very serene and adored the view from the kitchen window. Well worth the money!

About the owner: I have had so much fun fixing up this cabin and making a pleasant retreat for people! I hope you come and spend a couple days taking in all that Granite Falls and Canyon Falls Cabin have to offer! You will never forget it!
Why the Owner Chose Granite Falls:
Granite Falls is 30 minutes from the big city and yet a world away! One stop light, and the gateway to year round enjoyment, so I knew when I saw this cabin that it was the perfect cabin, on the perfect spot above the river, in the perfect town!
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
I love this cabin for several reasons...the most obvious is when you look out the window, the river is rushing right past! It looks and sounds beautiful. The cabin was built in 2000 so it has all the features I want in terms of conveniences, but the setting in the forest invokes the rustic, outdoors feeling that I want.
