Great get-away with the kids!
Great get-away with the kids!
My husband and I and our two kids stayed at this house over the summer. What a great vacation getaway! The location was perfect: 2 minutes down to the private town beach on Little Sunapee, which has restrooms, a playground and shade area; 2 minutes into New London to great restaurants, grocery store, etc. Although it is on Rt. 114, the house is set back from the road and traffic noise was minimal. The house was very well-stocked, especially the kitchen. Unlike most vacation rentals that have flimsy cookware and dull knives, this kitchen has sturdy pots and pans and nice cutlery. It was also helpful to have some basics like salt, pepper, spices and oil already on hand. The stackable washer/dryer was great to have on hand and there was laundry soap available. When we weren't on the lake, we spent quite a bit of time on the screened-in porch, relaxing and playing the board games that were available. I would highly recommend this property - it's not fancy, but has everything you need for a nice vacation in New Hampshire.

Perfect Summer Getaway!
Perfect Summer Getaway!
The Little Sunapee Cottage is a perfect place to relax...just minutes from the beach...and from coffee and ice cream in the quaint town of New London. The cottage was extremely clean and stocked with everything you could dream of needing...from every kitchen utensil, to games, books, and beach towels. Sitting on the screened-in porch was the ideal end to every day. Patricia is an extremely gracious host. We hope to visit again next summer.

Historical New England home, quiet and excellent location
Historical New England home, quiet and excellent location
My family and I had a great vacation here last year. With 4 bedrooms and 2 baths, there was plenty of room for our family of 5. The house was immaculate and truly turn key. It was stocked with everything to get us started and had plenty of beach towels and supplies as well as games, puzzles and books and even a fan for every bedroom for the warm summer nights. And for those that don't totally want to get away--wifi and a dvd player also. The only drawback was a very small shower downstairs and a gorgeous claw foot tub (but no shower) upstairs. I think that the owner was considering installing a shower extension upstairs so that might be resolved now and would not stop us from going back. The location is great--Just up the hill from Bucklin Beach(great place to watch the sunset) and just a couple of minutes drive to all New London shops, restaurants and amenities. The kids loved the large front and back yard to play in and we enjoyed both the back porch and large front screened porch for relaxing and grilling. It was a great spot and a reasonable price. I highly recommend it and would stay again! Best, Sabine

Wonderful Cottage! Very well equipped and beautifully maintained. We have vacationed in the town of New London for 50 years on Little Lake Sunapee and were pleased to find such a warm and lovely situated home close to the beach. Owner was very helpful and accommodating.

Owner response: Victoria, Glad to hear that you were happy for one additional year!! We too love the Sunapee/New London area. Please let us know if you have interest in renting again this summer. In addition to the new deck added last summer, we have 'fixed' the sloping driveway, added a shower to the second floor bath and will be adding an outdoor shower this coming spring! All suggestions from recent renters! As always we are open to suggestions from renters as to how we could improve your stay! Thank you again, Patricia
My family and I rented this house for 2 weeks. This house was very comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed the little extra things that made our stay even more enjoyable, such as having plenty of beach towels, toys for the kids, screened in porch, new kitchen appliances, and cleaning lady who came once while we were there. The owners were quick to respond to any of our questions and even checked in on us during our stay to make sure things were going well! New London is a great New England town and this a perfect place to relax with the family.

Why the Owner Chose New London:
With a 21 year history of vacationing in the Sunapee area with family and friends it only made sense to find a home in the area. My children learned to ski and grew up skiing with the alpine ski team at Mount Sunapee. Summering at the lake was equally enjoyable. Starting with the early days of digging in the sand to the later days of boating and water skiing. There was always something to do-even on rainy days. Sunapee was the perfect spot to get away to, reconnect with family and friends and simply relax. New London provides a peaceful relaxing area but somehow you are never bored!
