  I hesitate to rate our stay honestly, since I don't want too many folks to discover this place! Location great with expansive views up and down lake from high vantage point. Home was a beautiful post and beam with luxurious appointments, well stocked kitchen, etc as advertised. Dean was an excellent host/owner, and communication was easy. Everyone enjoyed the stay and hated to leave, but for our large family, coming from several southern homes, it was an excellent experience, and we hope to return in years to come......Dean, please keep this gem available!

  We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves; Thanksgiving Dinner was great, due to house's well-appointed kitchen and dining room! We’ve rented quite a few places ‘over the years’ from VRBO; 'Pont Jocassee', without a doubt, was the ‘tops’. Everything from condition to appointments was totally ‘top notch’. I will be definitely be scheduling another visit, when the hot weather returns.

  Just wanted to drop you a line and thank you and your wife on behalf of my entire family. What a vacation , from the adults to the children everyone had a great time. Jumping from 30 feet off "Wolks Rock" into the lake seemed to be the hit of the week my 68 year lod mother even made the jump. The house was wonderfull.and the owner was able to work with us and get us in early.(I wouldnt plan on arriving after dark unless you want a exciting ride down a dark mountain road), the few issues that did come up were promptly taken care of buy the owner. We took your advice and exploring the lake was the thing to do. My brother and I would also like to thank you for a great time golfing we really enjoyed ourselves. If you ever find yourself up our way please give us a call, we would be happy to return some of our northen hospatality. Thank You for providing a wonderfull backdrop for a great vacation. I would reccomend this property and hopefully will be returning soon. Thanks P.S- My four year old son woke up this morning and his first words were" Dad can we go back to Rocky Mountain?" Cant beat that.

  Our large family gathered together during August 11-18 in 2012. What a fatastic week for all! From the eldest to the youngest, all together, celebrating a most joyous vacation. During our initial insight into renting this property, we were in contact with the owner, Dean. He told us it was very remote with the nearest store about 16 miles away. The property is indeed in a remote area and secluded. Upon arriving we needed to try to reach Dean. He guided us to the home where it is a winding steep road into the area from the Duke Energy entrance. Once arrived, though, Dean made it very welcoming. He had just finished cleaning the pontoon boat that was included with the rental. That was the most attractive offer when looking for a rental. We are extremely thankful for the most enjoyable rides on the lake. Dean made it clear to my husband to check out the coves on the lake. Wow! My children and grandchildren jumped from rocks and a rope swing at one of the coves. Many beaches are around where we beached the pontoon and played volleyball. We also were able to rent a jet ski that made the trip for the older children more memorable. The house is exceptionally clean and everything provided except for paper products which is a must to bring. Dean tells you everything ahead of time so we expected and planned our trip accordingly. Many beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The night sky was phenomenal! Thank you, Dean and Barbara, for allowing us to share in your slice of beauty and the home has a lot of room for families. One of my children and their children found the room above the garage secluded and most comfortable. We can surely attest that the home was built to last. The owners put great care into planning the home. It surely made our dream vacation a reality!

  The Point...I will try to do it justice. As a family who has camped, stayed in the state park villas and has frequented Lake Jocassee many many times, this property takes the cake!! The owner who rented us this house was a pleasure to work with from taking our payment and contract to meeting us at the house upon our arrival to show us the ends and outs. Getting to the property was a bit of a challenge and the road is VERY windy, steep and you must look very carefully for the Point signs, but once you are at the house, all of that disappears quickly! The house is very large with plenty of room for multiple families to spread out including an apt above the garage. The view from inside of the house is BREATH TAKING and allows 180 degree views..AMAZING! I found myself each morning excited to see what the view looked like today. Waking up w/my morning coffee I was able to sit in my robe and take in the morning fog that had rolled in, the fishing boats going by and the beauty of this crystal clear mountain lake of Jocassee. The kitchen comes complete w/everything you could want for a gourmet meal. The bedrooms are large in size and decorated nicely! The beds are very comfortable and come complete w/luxury linens. The house in all was immaculate. As nice as the house is, it's the outdoors that calls here and both the upper and the lower decks gives you a little of bit of both worlds. Our evening dinners, drinks and conversations were held on the upper deck each evening. You are up where the birds fly and the view is phenomenal. The grounds below were also very nice. The chairs out on the point were a great plus and another great place to just hang out and take in the beauty! The climb down to the dock is very steep and a workout to get back up but the dock itself is very nice and a nice place to swim off of and hey you're in the mountains so steep can be the norm. The pontoon boat ran great and had tons of space for plenty of people, picnic supplies and the like. All and all the stay at The Point was very carefree, relaxing, amazingly beautiful and we can not wait to go back!!
