Bear Lake Reserve is absolutely breathtaking! The grounds are kept pristine. We loved the resort amenities, minus the resort feel. There are ample hiking trails at different skill levels to meet the needs of all hikers, amazing lake to partake in water sports, fabulous club to enjoy a meal while the kids play in one of the two pools overlooking the lake, camping site with treehouses, fishing ponds, challenging onsite golf course, and nature abound. There is also a kids club, workout facility, and on site "theatre room" which can be reserved to watch movies located at the Lake Club. The house we stayed in was gorgeous, outside and inside. The finishes and decor were top notch and the views from the screened in porch can't be beat. We enjoyed cooking out on the grill and roasting marshmallows to top off our meals. Customer service was topnotch. A greeter meets you at the cottage upon check in to review the amenities, local attractions, and answer any questions you might have. We walked away ready to book our next vacation at Bear Lake!Owner response: For anyone who hasn't visited Bear Lake, it is a hidden gem as described beautifully by Kristi. Please contact us as our home is always open. Thank you Kristi for taking the time to write such a great review. I'm glad you enjoyed our "little piece of heaven" in the Western Carolina mountains. It is truly a hidden gem. We love Bear Lake and are glad you came to visit. Let us know anytime you want to come back!! Thanks for the review. Glenn and Lee Ann Campbell

The place was absolutley perfect. Family of 4 had plenty to do. The interior was nearly perfect. The outdoor fireplace on the deck made the nights very enjoyable. The amenities were awesome. We rented a pontoon boat on the lake and had a wonderful time. We also hiked with our two daughters age 8 and 10 and had a fun family trip. The lodge is great for the kids-swimming, movie room and plenty to do. We would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone. We have stayed in this cottage4-5 times and really enjoy it everytime we come to Bear Lake. The cottage itself is well furnished and can accommodate at least 8 peope. Very good for 2 couples with kids. Highly recommended. Very easy rental arrangement! We will be back again! Thanks. The Talleys Fayetteville, GADid you find this review helpful? Our family of 6 has spent our most memorable vacations at Bear Lake. The scenic drive alone is worth the trip there, but the real luxury is when we arrive there and feel like we have reached a remote treasure. The owners have spared no expense in the accommodations--furnishing it tastefully and with classic and quality items and also making it feel like somewhere Ralph Waldo Emerson might stay for inspiration due to the tranquil and peaceful nature of the landscape around the home. We enjoyed fires and an incredible view from the screened-in room at the back of the home--and early morning coffees out there were like no others. We were able to relax at a quaint fishing spot and enjoy the serenity there, too. The kids especially enjoyed canoeing and dinners at the nearby lodge but were always eager to return to their "cabin in the woods." We also spent a day at Biltmore but looked forward to coming back to our home away from home. We experienced the joys of a rural vacation but had none of the hardships of one--the home really has everything, and it is impeccably kept. Bear Lake is a special place, and we will always come back.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

If you are looking for a place to go for pure relaxation, you have found your place. My husband and two children have traveled here for the last two years in August and have had an amazing time. The cottage is beautiful, spacious and clean with a fireplace on the back deck to allow you to take in the view and relax all at the same time. Then a few minutes drive up the mountain there is a clubhouse and pool area that is gorgeous, with a lake that will take your breath away. We also spend a couple days golfing on the top notch golf course with some of the most incredible scenery we have had on a golf course. All in all, this is a place we will continue to vacation. Top notch!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
