This place was perfect for us! We are a family of 6 and hotels can be really expensive and don't give the kids anywhere to play. We found the place to be very clean, spacious and well apointed with a beautiful kitchen and a brand new bathroom. Parking was very easy, and Steve, the owner was very helpful giving us restaurant and activity suggestions. The subway station is right around the corner and our family really enjoyed using public transportation. I read some of the other reviews that had bad things to say about the place and was a little scared especially with the kids playing on the floor, but things must have changed because it was in great condiontion. There were even 2 areas for me to do my work from my computer, both of which had fantastic views of the city! We had a great stay and are considering coming back next year.

I rented this property to celebrate my 30th birthday. I had 8 other adults in the home and we were all satisfied and had more than enough space to sleep. We had easy access to the EL train and were able to find taxis quickly at the corner (note: nowhere we went was over 2 miles away). The owner was responsive and willing to help if needed. Wonderful experience!

It is big enough, the price is right, the location is great. There is easy access to the EL train. The view from the deck is very nice. The interior of the home is nice. I would stay here again.

I gave it some time before writing this review in order to await response from my complaint but it never came. I WOULD NOT recommend this property at all except for 2 things. It's very conveniently located and the neighbors are great. This property is listed as being in "Wicker Park". The neighbors informed me it is actually a lower priced neighborhood called River West. The owner never bothered to put in the listing that there are two very steep and treacherous staircases leading up to this condo. 3 minutes after our arrival, upon turning on the lights the breakers flipped. I had to call the owner to walk me through finding the breaker box and resetting the breaker. This would not be the last time we lost power in the majority of the 1st floor, it tripped on a daily basis. The carpeting and furniture were filthy and the leather sofa and chairs were extensively damaged where a cat had used them as a scratching post. The pet odor in the place was overwhelming and renuzit canisters were in almost every room. The bedrooms have no TV and this is not mentioned in the ad. The dryer didn't work, the dishwasher had a foul moldy odor which we tried to remedy and could not. Although the fridge looked new it did not cool even on the lowest setting. We placed water bottles int he freezer and 3 days later only 1 of the 3 were frozen. The air conditioner wouldn't keep the place cool at all and obviously the owner knew that as there were about 10 fans in the place. We were promised parking passes for the week when in fact there were only 2 and you had to change them daily. There was paint chipping off the walls, 2 ancient window units held in place with bright blue painters tape, and stains on the carpet everywhere. This place was so bad we left a day early. I have used VRBO in the past to rent several other places to stay, but I can tell you after this experience and their apathetic response to complaints, I won't use them again. They basically informed me that they are just like taking out and ad in the paper to list something. Their responsibility ends there.

WOW!! this place was awesome! Thanks for opening up your home for us! We had a group of 6 and we all had our plans and this place allowed for all of us to explore Chicago on our own terms! So close to the bus and train, close to great places to eat! Close to CVS if we needed any emergency items. Place was clean, plenty of towels and plenty of room. Loved it! The deck was the whole reason I picked this place it was so relaxing having a drink on the deck I truly felt like I was on vacation! If you don't love this place you have issues and need to revaluate yourself as a person!!! Only one recommendation more curtains, I guess I am just used to having it dark and covered everywhere so the bright mornings I wasn't used to. But I did get up early because of it and so I guess I got more time to explore Chicago! Thanks again! If we ever come back this will be the place I look into staying! Laura California

The property was in a great location. Right off the interstate (if heading north), and right by a subway station. We walked downtown from here, and had a great view from the balcony. Very hospitable area. Windy City Cafe (next door) is top notch. The townhouse worked for us, pet friendly. Owner was very gracious and a local! Lots of updates, but some improvements needed. Overall, it worked well for our needs, and everyone had a great time.

My family and I spent several days in this property and we really appreciated the location and enjoyed its amenities. The apartment is spacious and clean, and the pictures on VRBO are accurate. There were 7 of us and we never felt crowded. The linens, which were provided, were clean and the towels were fluffy. The pillows and beds were comfortable and smelled fresh. My kids loved the leather sofa and chairs and took daily naps (although they're teenagers). The roof deck was a great feature. There was always a breeze up there and we had a beautiful view of the Chicago skyline. The kitchen is modern and well-equipped. The apartment is very close to a subway stop and several bus lines, so we used our car only once. The proximity to transportation made traveling within the city easy and inexpensive. I recommend buying a transit pass, which will let you ride the subway and buses all day. Not only is a pass economical, but very convenient (no rooting around your pockets for purse for singles and loose change). In the immediate area are a 24-hours CVS, a new coffee shop, a Catholic Church, a walk-in emergency care center, a pizza place, and a cafe with a delicious breakfast menu (Windy City Cafe). During our time there, I called and emailed the owner with a couple of questions (nothing major) and he was responsive, polite, and helpful. I would recommend this property to family and friends. The one caveat is that there are two steep staircases (one outside and one inside) that lead to the apartment, so it may be difficult for elderly or small children. But for most people, the stairs wouldn't be an issue. All in all, the place was perfect for our needs, and we loved returning "home" after a day of sight-seeing.

The property was just as described and the pictures speak for themselves. The owner was very accommodating considering the number of people in our party. He provided us with extra towels and beddings. We were there in the middle of a heat wave and the owner bought new fans and window a/c's to make our stay bearable. The blue line that leads straight to O'Hare is just steps away and bus # 66 to Navy Pier is just across the street. There are restaurants all over the place and CVS is also steps away. There's also a gelato place/creperie under construction next to the cafe. If you want a 5-star accommodation, then go ahead and pay for 5-star prices at hotels in downtown Chicago. But if you're on a budget and just want a nice, comfortable place to stay that's accessible to a lot of things and places, then this is the one for you.

I stayed here for a few nights in July. Here are the major benefits: 1. Less than a one minute walk to the "blue line" train. This made it easy to get downtown to see the sights and easy to make it back out to O'Hare (even with a bunch of luggage). 2. Great deck. Despite the heat we ate out on the deck and used the gas grill. Amazing view of the legendary Chicago skyline. 3. Price. Hotels are obscenely expensive in Chicago so staying here is a good deal. 4. Comfortable sleeping. There are at least 6 beds in this place. 5. Nice owner. Steve is a nice guy and answered all the questions I had. I would stay here again and recommend it to family and friends.

About the owner: I am a Realtor who specializes in the Wicker Park/ Bucktown/ Ukranian Village area. I have resided in the area for 13 years, and just love it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, I can point out some fun under the radar activities that you will just love. This unit was actually my home for 10 years, and I hope you love staying there as much as I enjoyed it!!

Why the Owner Chose Wicker Park:
I fell in love with this property when I listed it for sale for a client. At the time I was trying to find a building to house a bed and breakfast. The bed and breakfast never materialized, but I like to keep the dream alive with this vacation rental unit

The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Check out the pictures of the deck. Its absolutely huge (20 x20). Have friends and family over for a Barbeque, or just enjoy the sunrise and sunset over the gorgeous skyline.
