I don't think I could get any closer to heaven on earth... Direct oceanfront on the eastern North Shore of Oahu with a wrap around deck and a breeze that soothes even the weariest of souls. Every moment spent in this home was filled with nothing but perfect peace. No picture will ever be to convey the astounding beauty that surrounds this house on all sides. From the breathtaking mountains behind to the ocean directly in front, there is nothing more you could ask for... except maybe never to leave! I used to live on Oahu and have stayed in many different areas on my return visits, but none have ever left me with the feeling I write with now. I will be forever grateful for the time I spent here. There is a certain magic about Hawaii, and this home encompasses every bit of it. Thank you to Darcelle, who if you don't know what the aloha spirit is, you certainly will after meeting her. Mahalo nui loa and a hui hou kakao. JanaRecommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We had a wonderful time on Oahu with this as a great place to come back to each afternoon to relax. The sunrises were beautiful. We brought our coffee right out on to the back lanai to enjoy each new day. I took countless photos each morning. There were no regrets just spending time reading peacefully in the sun with the waves crashing in the background. Away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki or North Shore. But not too far.... A few minutes walk from a beautiful beach and park, restaurants, and grocery store. And less than 4 miles from the Cultural Center (a must see) and Laie Wayside park. Beautifully maintained.Fantastically managed. It felt like home during our stay.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We stayed here as part of our Round The World Trip for our 25th wedding anniversary, and after excessive travelling and celebrating with long lost friends we really needed somewhere we could totally relax and please ourselves. And that is exactly what we got here. Our hosts, Darcelle and Mike were wonderfully attentive, but not at all intrusive. We shared an amazing experience with Darcelle after we discovered a rare Hawaiin Monk Seal on a beach, and she was able to identify it for us, such a lovely lady, I learnt so much from her. The property was extremely spacious - yet wonderfully cosy; altho the elements had taken their toll on the exterior a bit, its TOTALLY oceanfront position was a major factor of that. But to be quite honest that really just added to its charm. And there were all the home comforts you could possibly need and far far more besides. About a 50 min, very scenic, drive from the airport, and in a small town/community on the coast; it was ideally situated for exploring the island, which we did to the max (even tho we were supposed to be relaxing) For those interested in the nature, keep your binoculars handy for turtles that actually feed just under the verandah at high tide, (yes folks, its that close to the sea). Altho its not a particularly walk or swim friendly beach dead in front of the house, its still interesting to explore, and handy to gain access to a little further along the coast where there are some beautiful spots a few hundred metres away. (10 mins by foot) The local supermarket is a 5 minute walk/ 30 second drive out of the end of the road, and is fantastic for having a chat with the locals and getting hints and tips what to try and buy. I am actually getting sentimental writing this because I didn`t want it to end !!! Mahala nui loa !!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
