Location, location and lots of sand! Welcome to Sunny Slope Beach House. Located right on Lake Huron with 80 feet of soft sugar sand beach, on a quiet street off of US 23 centrally located in the heart of Oscoda, Mi. You get the best of both worlds with this rental; on the waterfront, lots of sand for the kids to play, volleyball, relax and you can walk to just about everything - restaurants, bars, ice cream shops, movie theater, putt putt golf, bowling, the city park with free concerts in the park and so much more.
The Gailes at Lakewood Shores - One of the best golf courses in Michigan, listed in the top 10, is just a few miles away. If you enjoy golfing this is one you don't want to miss out.
This vacation home is tastefully decorated in neutral tones. Many dining options; inside at the long counter and attached table or dine outdoors on the deck. In the evening, light a fire in the firepit outside or in the fall enjoy the gas fireplace while watching a show or movie on the flat screen tv. Kids and adults can enjoy airhockey and many board game options. Just incase, there is a wii game system as well.
Master bedroom has a kingsize bed and doorwall. Master bedroom faces the water. Guest rooms include a queen size bed in one room and 2 twin bunk beds (total of 4 beds). There is a full bath on the main floor and a full bath upstairs between the 2 bedrooms. There is a nice convertible bed in the great room for extra sleeping. Washer and dryer included incase you need to do a quick load.
The owners have rented through other places in the past and have tried to anticipate the needs of renters. Many extras are provided to make your vacation a little smoother.

Your home was so over and above what we expected. We built sandcastles. some, more creative than socially acceptable. swam every day on your beach that was child and adult friendly . The air hockey table entertained us for many hours of competition. The decore left me envious, it was so funtionial yet it looked like it was featured in a magazine. The beach was pefect, sandy, no rocks,a nice sandbar, and amazingly quiet. The linens, towels.and paper products were ample as was the dinnerware and cookware. Biking during the construction was a little challenging. We only hope we were as good as quests as you were a host for one of our best family vacationsRecommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.

The house was as advertised and was spotless when we arrived. The house easily accommodated three generations of our family. The kids loved having a T.V. in their room. Great view with a nice beach. Went kayaking on the Ausable river, built fires and generally enjoyed ourselves. Owners proved easy to deal with and the transaction went seamlessly. Would recommend this house to any family.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We rented Sunny Slope for a week in July and enjoyed the beach and home immensley. When they said bring nothing but your beach towel...they mean it. They had everything there for you. Kitchen was well supplied with utensils, dishes, pans, etc. The beds were very comfortable. The home was very clean and had a washer and dryer there so we could at least wash our beach towels before leaving. It was nice not having to put wet towels in a bag! The beach....wow! The beach was beautiful and so sandy. I don't think I seen a rock the whole week we were there! The only thing I would suggest for the owners to possibly think about doing, with having such a huge beachfront area, is to have a walkway down to the beach, even halfway. The sand got pretty hot to walk in (even with flip flops or water shoes). And the other would be to have a step off the deck. It was a little hard for my mother-in-law to get up and down from it. Other than that we all would highly recommend staying. One other thing I need to mention is the response from the owners when we had an air conditioning issue. Not a big deal as it turned out, but we had a small outage while we were there, so small we didn't even know it happened, and it flipped the switch. In any case, the air wasn't working and I called Jacqui. She was right on it. She called the company that takes care of that for them and they came out and all was well. She checked in with me to make sure we were okay and to see if the guy was there yet to fix it. She showed true concern and sincerity that we were having a good stay and enjoying ourselves. Thank you Jacqui for everything. We will return!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway.

We had a fantastic family vacation. The home was clean and very well maintained and equipped. We felt very comfortable and the kids really enjoyed the Wii as well as the air hockey table. The owners did a great job setting up the home. Any concern that came up was taken care of immediately. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone interested in a great beach front vacation.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

My family and I had a great time. There were 8 of us total and the kids got along great. There was too much to do do no complaining of being bored. When we first entered the home we were stunned at the decor and ambience. We felt as if we traveled to a remote resort. It is very open and views of the water from everywhere. Fully equipped kitchen, the owners thought of everything including a stereo with iPod docking station to play our music and to just have our phone charge up. After our bonfire and roasting marshmallows they entire family sat down at the table and attached long counter (all 8 of us fit and plenty of chairs) to play monopoly - our kids favorite. After kids fell asleep watching a movie in their beds we turned on and scrolled through movies on Netflix and HBO for ourselves. I have to say the beach was the best we've stayed at. You can tell its groomed regularly with fresh soft sand all the down from the deck to the shore line. We will be back for sure! Can we hold a date for next year?Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

We rented this property the last week of June and we were Jacqui and Hank’s second renters ever. We have rented a different beachfront property south of Oscoda many times in the past, but this year we needed more sleeping accommodations. After reviewing a dozen or so properties that were advertised online, we selected Sunny Slope. Sunny Slope is not the typical cottage or modular that we are used to renting in this area. This rental is a beautifully appointed home that has just been updated (see website for update description). And it has air conditioning, which was greatly appreciated because the temperature was near 100 degrees our last two days. Everything that we could possibly need was made available to us in this fully-equipped house. We felt at home the entire week. The welcome basket that you left for us (with so Mora’s!) was a very pleasant and unexpected surprise! The three-season porch and wrap around deck provided a fantastic view of the lake. The beach is huge and very well kept. We had fun watching a pair of sandpipers defending their nest and eventually scurrying their chicks away into the tall grass on an adjoining property. Beach campfires were enjoyed every night! This property is a real gem, with all the amenities, beautiful property, and close proximity to downtown Oscoda. The website photos simply do not do this property justice. And your cell phone will work, unlike our other rentals south of town! Thanks again, Jacqui and Hank, for the wonderfully stay that we had at Sunny Slope. You're off to a great start and we're sure that you'll have many successful years as renters of your wonderful property. We enjoyed our stay at Sunny Slope for the week of 6/15-6/22/2012. The house was better than the pictures and it was an amazing location right on the sandy beach and lakefront. Two couples and three kids 2.5 and under had a great time playing in the sand, walking on the waterfront, enjoying the local sites, hiking, the parks and just building a fire at night. The owners were very hands-on and easy to contact via text/phone. There was an issue with the air conditioner (no fault of the owners) and they had a repairman there and it was fixed within a few hours of our contact of them. Great vacation spot and good deal as well!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

I wanted to say thank you to Jacqui. She was very helpful in helping us find a place to stay. We were hoping to reserve a week at Sunny Slope but they were all booked for the weeks we were looking at. Unfortunately, my kids only had certain weeks they could take vacation so we were limited. Jacqui went out of her way to email us with suggestions of other rentals. She was prompt in responding to us and helpful. We hope to stay at Sunny Slope in the future. Your place looks really nice.
