  Sadly, my wife and I are nearing the end of our stay in the casita at Los Pocitos. We were here December, January, and the first part of February. We then came back for March. It has been our haven . . . A refuge of tranquility that exceeded all expectations in terms of proximity to Centro, comfort, functionality, and cleanliness. We have not had to compromise in any way. We were particularly interested in having purified water and fast internet. This property has purified water throughout! (all taps and even the shower) The internet worked great! TV has cable with plenty of English speaking channels. The kitchen is fully equipped — so preparing meals for yourself or friends is always an option. If you prefer someone else do the cooking while you enjoy the terrace, no problem! Go to the market, pick up fresh food items, and bring them back for Teresa to work her magic. Teresa is truly a marvelous cook and for 50 pesos an hour she will happily cook up a meal. Joan is a most gracious host with loads of marvelous suggestions and helpful tidbits on places to see, available services, places to eat, etc. We would certainly stay at Los Pocitos again and highly recommend this gem for your next visit to SMA.

  We shared this beautifully appointed house with another couple. We had ample room to lose ourselves. We loved all the different levels and retired to different logias for personal space. Beautiful serene views over the small canyon, tons of wonderful birds, great artifacts, close and yet a little removed from down town, we always walked down in the morning and sometimes took a "cheap" taxi if we just could not put one foot in front of the other... Such a gorgeous town! Great food everywhere. You will fall in love and want to keep on coming back! Greetings from Oregon.

  Lucky me! This casita in San Miguel is where I stayed for three amazing months: June, July and August 2012 and I couldn't have had a more dreamy experience. Seriously. The moment I knocked on the front door and followed Joan down the spiral staircase, I knew I was hooked. The spiral staircase itself is magical: by the time I reached the ground floor, I recognized this was clearly a very special place. Apparently, Joan and her architect both have a huge interest in sacred architecture, and you can tell that from the moment you cross the threshold:: it has a sacred sense of place. So from the start, I knew this place was for me... Then, as soon as I saw the living area, kitchen and outdoor terrace, fountain and view of the famous orchid garden (not to mention the stunning garden below), I knew I wasn't looking at any other place in San Miguel to rent. Then, back inside, i was skipping up 5 or 6 wide steps to a large luxurious bedroom, en suite bathroom with the biggest shower I have ever seen (and walk in cupboard wardrobe on the other side) plus a great spot with a desk for my computer AND a table for dining. I happen to love entertaining so it was pretty wonderful cooking up a storm (once I got used to the idea of disinfecting all the vegetables!) and having friends over for dinner: Imagine, candlelight inside, outside. Fountain gurgling. And that time of year has glorious weather so sitting outside a lot. I plan on getting back to SMA sooner than later and hope the casita will still be available. Joan was super helpful in suggesting ideas for where to vist, shop and eat and I would highly recommend this casita to anyone thinking of spending time in San Miguel de Allende. It was beautifully maintained and in a class all its own. I would suggest booking it (sooner than later.)

  We've visited San Miguel probably a dozen times before now. We knew from the photos that this was going to be a fabulous place to stay, but upon arrival we were absolutely floored! Around every corner and level you'll find cozy nooks with beautiful artifacts. There were four of us and when we wanted privacy there was always a quiet spot to relax AND with a gorgeous view. When we wanted to be together there were several choices, also with gorgeous views. It's obvious that the place was very thoughtfully and carefully designed and created. It is rare in San Miguel, but this place had a completely purified water system - no lugging big bottles from the stores!

  My family, including a teenager, recently stayed in this georgeous home for two weeks. It was better than described and made our trip peaceful, convenient, and comfortable. It was in immaculate condition and we even had meals prepared and served if needed. The location is perfect, less than 10 minute walk to the center of town, yet far enough removed to be quiet and tranquil with its beautiful garden and terraces. The photos do not do it justice. It is of inspiring architecture and full of antiques. The owner was most cooperative and pleasant and any service was immediately available. With so many fine restaurants and attractions near by it is a perfect place to stay while enjoying San Miguel. I highly recommend Los Pocitos

  This place is a dream. So beautiful and decorated with such charm. It felt like a castle but had all the amenities of a modern home. The house has gorgeous furniture and wonderful antiques. It has a little cave that goes up to a loft overlooking a bedroom/familty room. It is just a few blocks to the town center; however, it was very quiet and peaceful. The house is built on a hill with a stream below. We loved every minute staying there!!!! I highly recommend this property!!!
