This residence (2000 sq. ft.) was completely and tastefully restored in 2003. Located 3 short blocks to Santa Monica Beach this furnished unit comfortably sleeps up to 6 people and is in the center of trendy Ocean Park which boasts many upscale Boutiques and Restaurants. This unit has 2 bedrooms and a mezzanine/office. The Master suite has a California king size bed, fireplace, 40' LEDTV, and French doors entering the gardens. Relax in the master Jacuzzi bath complete with a spa tub for two and a steam room/shower for two. Fully furnished kitchen the finest. Viking Stove, Viking Refrigerator, Microwave and Miele Dishwasher. Toaster, Juicer, Blender. A chefs set up. The living room has a 32' HD Flat Screen TV with DVD/CD Player.
A letter of Reference: Honestly, I can only give John McCormack's house the highest recommendation. It is a beautiful, spacious, airy, sun-filled, elegantly-designed-yet-totally-comfortable house with a lovely garden and charm galore. The architectural work of art--the master bedroom and bath--is absolutely luxurious. There's a soaking (Jacuzzi) tub and a large shower that also has a steam room setting. The gas fireplaces in the living room and master bedroom add so much cozy feeling to the place, which, in February, could be a plus, since at that time of year in Southern California, the night air at the beach tends to get pretty chilly.
John is a gracious host/landlord, who checks in with his tenants regularly (eager to answer questions about the house or accommodate any needs--within reason--as they may come up). He is quite friendly, but respectful of one's privacy, too. He's thoughtfully stocked his kitchen well (we like to cook/entertain--so that's been a wonderful bonus), and there are plenty of towels and linens for myself, my husband, my 9-year-old son, and my father-in-law who is staying with us for a two month visit, which is the reason for our having rented this lovely place for a short-term stay.
I don't know how familiar you are with the Ocean Park neighborhood, but the house's proximity to Main Street can't be beat. I roll out of bed for a 6am yoga class (at a terrific studio btw, Yoga works) a half a block away, the hip/organic people-watching hot spot, Urth Cafe is literally on the corner, a raw food restaurant and Peet's Coffee (so much better than Starbuck's!) are all within steps of the house, as well as lots of little shops, a bodega-like grocery store, a tiny little gelato place AND a Ben and Jerry's. There's a neighborhood farmer's market every Sunday morning, which is also a happenin' event, as well as the historic little library nearby, which is sweet and terribly convenient.
