  My wife and I arrived during Thanksgiving holiday-we were very pleasantly surprised at how beautiful this property was, you never know what you'll encounter when renting online. The condo was very clean and well decorated, the view was outstanding. We walked the beach and enjoyed the heated pools. The owner was very gracious and made our stay comfortable. And we received our security deposit within a week of our departure. We will definitely be back

  I stayed in September, leave everything in perfect condition, this beautiful place but never received a refund of the deposit, the person told me that they had already sent, and sent me a copy of the canceled check, but I could not see where they collect , appeared as a false signature just the reverse. I'll never know if they charged alla or Mexico. I know it may not be because of Mary, He was very accessible to me but the check was stolen and cashed by someone else.

  Owner response: I am very sorry that you didnot receive the check which i promptly sent to the address you furnished me located in Mexico and was endorsed by you, and by the way funds were withdrawn from my account. Don't know what else i can dofor you as I had the bank send you a copy of the endorsed and cashed check with your signature on it. I contacted VRBO customer service to assist me with this, and they were of little help--stating any former renter can post any review, regardless of the consequences to the owner, and the only thing the owner can do is respond to it. Please consider this when reading the review

  This condo was in the perfect location to enjoy Sandcastle Days. We were within walking distance of all events. The condo was clean and comfortable. We hope to return next October!

  My husband & I rented this unit for 5 nights. We thoroughly enjoyed this location & South Padre. The unit was clean and nicely furnished. We especially liked the unit being located on the first floor. On the first night, the AC never stopped, but I texted Ambar & she got it repaired for us immediately. Mary, the owner, was patient in answering all my questions. Also, we decided to add an extra night to our agreement, and both Mary & Ambar accomodated us and everything worked out smoothly. I've already recommended this unit to a friend. The unit is located next to Clayton's Bar so we enjoyed sitting on the patio & listening to the music from there. Oh, be sure to go to the office & get a parking permit when you get there. Sea Turtle, Inc. & the bird sanctuary are located across Padre Blvd., very convenient. New restaurant in town: Blanca White's, 202 W. Whiting @ Laguna Blvd. (on the bay). Great food, free homemade chips & frijole dip, and great sunset view! Their hours are 5pm-?, Wed-Sun.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+.

  We arrived at the Tiki at about 6:00 pm, which was about an hour after they were supposed to closed, but they were still open...thank goodness for us as they seemed super friendly and checked us in quickly. After we checked in, we went to Mary's unit and were so pleased about the condo. It was super clean and right on the beach just like her pictures in this posting. However, Mary - you should post some new ones of the bedroom since you have newer furnishings in there. :-) There were plenty of washcloths and towels for our stay (5 towels, 5 washcloths & 5 hand towels). The kitchen was nice and updated as we cooked dinner several nights while there. Maybe a suggestion is to have a couple of pot holders to use when getting things out of the oven. :-) However, there were several dish towels there to use. Mary also provided dish soap, some paper towels and some seasonings just in case you forgot to bring some. We also brought our two chihuahuas with us on vacation, and they loved the place! They especially loved going out on the patio to watch the birds. The patio railing also has chicken wire so our small babies couldn't escape and run for the beach. :-) We left on Thursday and received our deposit refund on Monday in the mail! That's quick service!! Mary was wonderful to work with and always responded to my emails promptly. The only thing we were disappointed in was that the internet service was down at the entire complex except for the office (I know, who's supposed to work while their on vacation???). But we ended up going to a restaurant and used their wifi. The only other suggestions I would make would be to have a channel guide of some sort so us "out-of-towners" will know which channels are which. :-) Also, maybe look into replacing the couch in the living room as it was a bit worn. I'd definitely recommend Mary's place to spend a relaxing vacation. We're looking forward to returning next year. Thanks again Mary!!!!

  This condo is in the perfect location. It is a side ocean view which makes it more private because you do not have everyone walking back and forth in front of the place. The condo was so much more than we expected. The pictures online do not do it justice. The location is great because it is in walking distance of a restaurant/bar. The place was super clean when we arrived. The owner was kind and accommodating. I would love to book with you again in this exact condo next June. Thanks again, you really made our vacation extremely enjoyable!

  Great location! You can't get any closer to the Gulf. The unit is well maintained, clean and loaded with extras for a long or short stay. The owners responded very quickly to emails and phone calls. This unit will be the first one we look at on our next trip to South Padre. On clear days, sky divers would land on the beach right beside the condo and you could watch from your deck. Relaxing, wonderful time. Truly a home away from home .

  View was beautiful, condo clean, and walk to the beach. Bring you enough towels for your stay. We were only given one set of towels for the week. So we went bought some towels for the remainder of our stay. There was plenty of pots, dishes and even seasoings. It was really a nice condo. No noise, no traffic. Just nice and comfortable The air conditioning did leak for 2 days maintance did come on both occasion to fix it. So maybe that where our refund went. We clean the place before we left, nothing was broken and we did not leave bloody pads all over the place. This was the owner reason for not returning our refund. She stated "I have pictures and witness that we left the place in a disgrace and she was not please. Upon trying to talk to MS. MARY she was very short and couldn't talk to us any more.

  Owner response: As the owner, I felt very bad when my cleaning personnel informed me of the damage to the mechanism of the hide-a-bed and the gross mess they encountered. Fortunately they took pictures and had witnesses. It meant that i was forced to withold the damage deposit (which was a first for me) and had to inform the renter. As a result, her only retaliation was to write a negative review. I sincerely try to make renting my condo a relaxing, pleasurable experience, and have had many positive remarks. Please consider this when reading her review

  Our week at Mary's condo was highlighted by beautiful beach weather. The close access to the beach was perfect for afternoon dips in the surf. In the evenings, we enjoyed watching the sunset over the Western bay color the clouds above the beach into blues and peaches. Mary's condo was cozy and very clean. The shower had hot water and the AC kept us cool. The WIFI for the TIKI has excellent strength. In the afternoons we also enjoyed the music coming from Clayton's bar across the way. I recommend Mary's condo to couples who want a relaxing, comfy place to call home while vacationing on South Padre Island.

  My husband and I came to stay at this condo for a winter break. I loved this condo because it had the beautiful view of the ocean, and the location was relaxing and private. We enjoyed the convince of being just steps away from the beach as we fished everyday from shore. We caught a ton of sheephead, pompano, and whiting just off of the beach. The condo was clean, and I enjoyed the updated kitchen as I love to cook. The view of the ocean from the bedroom was tremendous. No doubt in my mind, this is the only place we will stay in South Padre. Thank you!
