  Our family of 4 adults and one 2 year old had pretty high expectations for this property. But we all agree our expectations were exceeded wildly. First and foremost - the property manager, James and his team were more than professional. They were crisp in execution, friendly in only the most wonderful ways, welcoming, supportive for unusual requests around a wedding and a busy day. In a "manana" culture, this team was exceptional. Now - the property: PERFECT. Just simply PERFECT. Beautiful understated furnishings, the best mattresses for the most restful sleep, windows in all the right places (some might think it dark but we found out the house felt cooler and more relaxing than houses with the sun streaming in all day), cool in the heat of the day without air conditioning, livable floor plan, wonderful swimming pool for family, intelligent outdoor shower and tap for cleaning off sand after beach time. Easy walk for a 2 year old to the beach every morning, the best beach especially at low tide - great for introducing yound children to the ocean. Perfect water temp...Fun toys for beach and pool, relaxing living spaces in which to read and dine. The photos don't do this place justice. The description is low key. But it was a wonderful home for our family (and a low key wedding with close surf friends already here..) We will return to this beach and hopefully, Casa La Selva. Thanks to the team there for making everything so relaxing and enjoyable.

  Accurately depicted very nice near new beach house Friendly manager. Pleasent staff. Impeccably clean Good wifi. TV did not work!!! Meal plan only OK. We requested certain items and were some what accommodated. Meal plan Over priced for what it is. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends with advice on food alternatives.

  Owner response: It was very unfortunate that the satellite TV system failed during Henry's visit...the satellite box had to be reprogrammed by the Claro technicians...that has never happened before and unfortunately the Claro team took a couple of days to show up (this was out of our control). The Claro technicians were able to fix the problem while onsite and we don't expect further issues. We recommend that if you purchase the food plan that you clearly communicate your food requests/restrictions prior to your arrival...our property & food manager (James) is very focused on customer service and will work hard with his team to meet your needs.

  The 2012 Hawaiian ISA Surf Team was stoked to stay at Casa la Selva during their Gold Medal Team Victory at the 2012 ISA World Masters Surfing Championships at Hacienda Iguana, Nicaragua. The Hawaiian Surf Team was comprised of Sunny Garcia, Rochelle Ballard, Mike Latronic, Kaipo Jaquias, Nelson Sadoy, and Glenn Pang. Sunny Garcia (Gold - Grand Masters; Silver - Masters) Good house, good waves, good food. I had my own big bed with my own bathroom for a great price and the surf out front was really good! In short I would recommend people booking this location for sure! Rochelle Ballard (Gold – Women’s Masters) Luxury accommodations, having a pool and lanai, & Nicaraguan cook! We felt very secure and safe and comfortable... the area is great... it’s nice being in a golf club/community style club with barreling surf only steps away! Thats about as good as it gets... : ) Mike Latronic (Team Captain; Bronze - Kahunas) For the hardcore traveling surfer, to the weekend warrior family group... Casa De Selva is top notch. Coziness enough not to be stuffy but classy enough to be a real treat. Great food, great service, great location, good waves and a lot of smiles! Would definitely recommend this to anyone! Nelson Sadoy Our accommodations were great! We had a pool, people cooking us great food, making our beds, doing our laundry, we were getting world class treatment! The surf was fast running beach breaks only steps away! Waves NEVER went flat the whole time!   My group consisted of two couples and we stayed at Casa La Selva for a week. Everything about the property was great. The place was well decorated with nice furniture and very comfortable beds. We had a maid from 8-4 who did all the day to day cleaning and wouldn't mind doing a little extra for tips. there was also a guard from 4pm-8am so the place was well protected and very safe. We could walk across the road to the beach and head left to Colorados or right to Panga Drops. There were also bicycles to use if we got tired of walking. All in all the place was amazing and we would definitely stay again. A few things I think you should know if this is your first time visiting. If you rent a car make sure you get at least a truck if not a 4x4 and you may not want to get it at the border as we did. If you opt to get picked up from the airport plan your shopping list ahead of time and get more than you think you'll need or opt for the meal plan because the closest supermarket is 45 minutes away on a bumpy dirt road most of the way. There are only two restaurants in Hacienda Iguana and luckily they will sell you ice and beverages during your stay, just not groceries. We felt Don Elroy's (the pizza place) was a little overpriced but if you go at night you should sit inside as there are hundreds of bugs outside. Inside there aren't any bugs but it's a sports bar and everyone is smoking in a small enclosed room. There are some other restaurants and small stores just outside of the gate but they may be a little far if you don't have a car. Enjoy the amazing adventure and have some good surf while you're there.

  My wife, Otis, our 7 lb. four legged fur child and I enjoyed the best vacation ever at "Casa de Silva" in Hacienda Iguana, Nicaragua. It was !Fantastico! James, who manages the property is also a premiere concierge. "James, we would like bicycles." An hour later two of them are delivered, complete with a basket for Otis to ride in."James, we would like to hire a guide for day trips around Nica." That evening introductions are made with Zack, a remarkable guide on land and sea (Our voyage with Zack in his "panga" along the rugged coastline of the Pacific to San Juan del Sur was filled with thrilling sights, sounds, and adventures.The same with our day trips to Granada, Ometepe, and other small villages up and down the coast). "James, I punctured the tire on the bike. 'No problem, let Eddie know.'" Eddie is the "go to guy" around the casa, gardener extrodinare, pool man, tire fixer, and always with a smile. The pool, lanai and landscaping together create its own paradise. We felt cradled in the lap of luxury.The casa is immaculate (all day maid service) and contains all the modern ammenities as of 2012. "James, where can we buy some fresh fish?" That afternoon Manuel rides up on his motocycle with a cooler strapped on the back filled with the mornings catch. Each day was different, grouper, snapper, sierra mack. We would choose and he would come in and fillet them for us so we could grill them, heavenly. When we didn't want to cook we rode our bicycles to the club house on the beach and dined on chicken tacos while watching the surfers catch the last waves before sunset. Or, we rode up past the golf course to Don Eloys for a mouth watering thin crust pizza. When feeling particularly adventurous we would walk south along the coast to Playa Gigante for a good ol' American hamburger. The coast is stunning. In particular the two mile stretch at Hacienda Iguana. White sand, two world class surf breaks ( Panga Drops and Colorados), swells pounding the reef to the north sending up plumes of ocean spray thirty feet in the air, kaboom and the ground vibrates below your feet. I will admit to a bit of trepidation planning our vacation to Nicaragua. In short order we felt completely safe and secur. The locals are warm, friendly, and happy with life. Some of our most memorable moments were walking on the beach late at night at low tide with the moolight streaming across the wet sand into the ocean. We are planning our return trip. Casa de Silva is !Fantastico!

  We LOVED your casita and attention to detail! I really did enjoy my time in your Casita and i have to tell you I am tough. We rent out homes as well and when we rent we try to keep our homes in great condition and provide our guests with a "home away from home" experience. We try to appoint our homes with quality equipment. We may have met our match! We have rented many vacation rentals throughout the US and in Puerto Rico and Nicaragua. Yours is the BEST we have ever stayed in. Honestly, the only amenity I was missing was a garlic press. ;) We thought the finishes and furniture in the casita were beautiful and this was the perfect size place for the two of us. We are definitely interested in staying in your place again. This is the first time we stayed in Iguana, as we normally spend our time in Rancho Santana. We loved the proximity to the beach. The monkeys in the trees behind the house was an added bonus! The Iguana beach and development is very walkable and we enjoyed that as well. In the future we will be contacting you to rent the Main House or the Casita. I will be happy to be a reference to future guests. THANK YOU!
