Lamm's End" is located along the most captivating stretch of Folly Beach. Out front... the ocean. Out back... our dock, Morris Island Light House, Folly River, and Charleston Harbor.

Lamm's End "Breathtaking Ocean,River & Lighthouse Views"
Year Purchased: 2004
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes
There is no place like Folly. The island includes an eclectic mix of people ... from bohemian artists, to 20-something surfer dudes, to wealthy retired boomers... to regular Moms, Dads and their kids. You can't tell them apart on Folly... tee shirts, flip, flops and shorts are the dress code. They all come to enjoy a beautiful, natural island and a laid-back island lifestyle. Likewise, Folly also has a wide range of housing from multi-million dollar homes to charming beach cottages that have been in southern families for many generations. Folly is a fresh relief from the manicured, Disney-like beaches that so many vacation communities have become. If a golf-gated community is what you're looking for, Folly is not the place for you.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Beth is a completely hands-on owner. No management company... just one on one with Beth. Lamm's End and Lamm's End Cottage are improved constantly. Beth pays close attention to creature comforts... comfortable beds, black out curtains to ensure a good night's sleep, high thread count all cotton bedding, down comforters. This is a turn-key operation. Everything --- from toilet paper, paper towels, laundry soap, dish & dishwashing soap, hand soap, spices--- is provided. The family loves to cook and the kitchen reflects that. The on-line reviews demonstrate many years of happy, satisfied, returning guests.
Owner's Map of Private Homes
Beth looked for beach property from the coast of NC to Georgia for 2 years. The minute she drove on to Folly, it felt perfect. Relaxed, laid-back and only 11 miles from Charleston, SC! Lamm's End was the second house she looked at that day and before she walked in she knew this was it. Standing on the back porch sold her. The views are that amazing. Back in Florence, SC ...hubby, Jim has just come in from a busy overnight in the ER when Beth called to tell him she'd finally found the beach and house and wanted to buy it there and then. "Can't it wait till the weekend when I can see it?" he asked. "Nope... gotta do it now. It will be sold before you get here". Exhausted, Jim gave in and the rest as they say is history. Beth just obtained her real estate license and is thrilled to pursue her passion for real estate in Florence, SC.
The Lamm family loves to travel, they are pictured in Mendoza, Argentina. Just a year before another South Carolinian discovered the sensual delights of Buenos Aires!

Lamm's End was the perfect place for our families to spend a week. My husband and I from Singapore, our daughter, son in law and grandson from Nashville, TN and our son, daughter in law and granddaughter from Pittsburgh, PA. The house was spotless upon arrival and we found everything to be just as advertised. Beth was wonderful to work with, promptly answering phone calls and questions. The beach is just a short walk away and the views from the front and back porch are amazing. We made the short drive to town a few times to enjoy lunch at Taco Boy, dinner at Crab Shack and a visit to the playground near Beth's cottage. The Morris Island Lighthouse is just down the road and is worth a visit. On our last evening we had a family photo taken right in Lamm's End back yard, a perfect and lasting memory of a vacation our family will long remember.
Owner response:Debbi, Thanks for sharing your Lamm's End experience on line. JoAnn and I make every effort to ensure the booking process and the visit to Folly Beach are as seamless as possible for our international guests. The Morris Island Lighthouse family pictures are a real treasure for our guests! Best regards, Beth

Our week at Lamm's End started when we opened the door and the house just smiled at us! What a welcoming, lovely, charming home, with colors that reflect the sun, sand, and sea surrounding it. We found everything we could possibly need in the kitchen, the beds were comfortable, and the views were endless. The owner is wonderful to work with and even stopped by to say hello while she was staying at Folly and to see how we were and if we needed anything. We enjoyed our week immensely and Lamm's End provided a setting where we were able to entertain and renew old friendships as well as meet new friends. Wish we had known there were so many steps, as my husband struggled to get up and down three flights, and had to go down a flight inside the house to the bedrooms. But, we managed, and had a lovely time.

The perfect house for total relaxation! This was our first experience at Folly and certainly not our last. We found the island to be warm and easy going with fun restaurants and beautiful beaches. The kids surfed and fished while we read and day dreamed for hours on the beach. The house had everything anyone could ask for. It was well stocked and inviting with its multiple decks and happy colors. We wished we could have stayed all summer!

Beth, This house was simply breath-taking!!!! This has been by far the most enjoyable and relaxing family vacation we have ever experienced!!!! Even with 2 sickly babies we had a most marvelous time!!! I would have to say the ONLY negative of the house is the amount of stairs you have to walk up and down with kids, groceries and luggage. Can't wait to stay here again!!!!!

Great Beach House and Base for Charleston Visits

Our family spent Spring Break at Lamm's End and had a wonderful time. The accommodations were wonderful and let us feel right at home. We had everything we needed from beach towels to great views. If you are looking for an almost private beach, this is it (at least in March)! Beach access from the house is very easy, and we were the only ones on the beach for most days. We came home with a wonderful collection of sand dollars and sea shells. The proximity of Lamm's End to Charleston also made it easy to spend part of the day taking in the tourist attractions in Charleston. We highly recommend Husk for a nice dinner. For local Folly Beach flavor, we would highly recommend a boat trip to Morris Island by Island Hopper Charters (our boys ages 7 and 5 loved it!) and dinner at Bowen's Island Restaurant.
Owner response:Thanks, Steve for taking the time to share your experience at Lamm's End. That boat trip to Morris Island sounds wonderful, it's now on my Folly Beach bucket list! I enjoyed meeting your family. Beth

We chose this house for a small family retreat in August 2010. Everything worked out beautifully....we cooked seafood on the grill and enjoyed the sunsets over the salt marsh. The house was well appointed and had everything we could think of during our stay. Beach was just a short walk away and much less crowded than other spots I saw during my low-tide bike rides. Tons of maps, menus, and magazines were also helpful in planning our excursion to downtown Charleston. Thanks for everything Beth!

We just completed a month at Lamm's End (Feb, 2010) and what a fantastic house it is. The view of the river and marsh is the best on Folly plus you also have a view to the ocean. Watching the herons and the pelicans fishing was great entertainment. The house is comfortable and inviting and you feel at home the moment you walk in the door. It was the most well appointed home, with everything you could possibly need, that we have ever rented. Beth is wonderful to work with and we hope to be back again in the near future.
Owner response:Thanks Joye and Carl. My housekeeper was so appreciative how perfect you left Lamm's End after a month in the house. We'd love to have you stay with us again. Hope you brought the warm South Carolina sunshine back to the Cape!

We had Christmas at Lamm's End. Warm, bright, and cheery for the holidays. Easy access to the beach with a partial ocean view, great view over the marsh with lots of waterbirds to watch in the morning. Plenty of parking. New kitchen and all the amenities to cook up a great holiday meal. We'll look forward to going back.

Lamm's End was a great little get-away for us. It's location on Folly Beach is excellent and the property was very clean and well-maintained, with everything in working order. We'd definitely recommend this property and the owner Beth was very easy to deal with and prompt in answering all questions along the way.

My wife and I recently stayed at Lamm's End, along with our 18-month old son and our spaniel, and had a wonderful time. The house very much lives up to expectations; it is beautiful, clean, and modern, and the views are fantastic. Folly and Charleston also are a true pleasure. Finally, it was a joy to interact with both Beth Lamm (owner) and Shea Onofrey (concierge). We highly recommended this property.
