  We just returned from a one week stay at Folly, and had a wonderful visit. The weather was a bit chillier than expected, and having just been through a long and snowy winter in CT, we had been hoping for it to be a little warmer. We did not get to enjoy the beach, but then again, the main purpose of the visit was to visit our daughter who is College of Charleston, and we did not want to stay in the city center this time. Because of the weather, NOT the house, we are rating our visit as good...with better weather, it would be excellent!!!!! It is an easy drive out to Folly (rush hour can be a little long), and we made the round trip at least once a day. Loads of fun and family friendly dining options out in Folly (our favorite is the Lost Dog Cafe for breakfast and lunch). At the end of long days touring around the Charleston area, and walking, shopping, and dining in the city, Lamm's End was a wonderful and welcoming home! It is very clean and very comfortably furnished, and as our kids all pointed out, the beds are very comfortable and "the sheets are so soft"! The kitchen is well appointed and has been recently updated. On the chillier nights (and it was quite chilly!) the heat kicked in quickly and we were nice and toasty! My husband and son had 2 very successful fishing excursions with Tucker Blythe of Grey Ghost Charters, and caught 3 huge red fish, 26" , 30", and 32". They had a great time and highly recommend him. We would love to return to Folly in warmer weather to experience more of what the area has to offer, and would return to Lamm's End. The owner was a pleasure to work with, and we actually got to meet her briefly on our first day.

  Rented house for a long 3 day weekend for 3 couples to celebrate a 50th birthday. Had a fantastic time. Did a lot of cooking and house was very well stocked, very clean & comfortable for all to spread out and have some space. Views were great on both front and back of house. Within walking distance to Morris Island Lighthouse viewing point which had a gorgeous beach. Would definitely rent again. Thanks!!

  I have just returned from a weeks stay at Folly Beach at Lamm's end and it was simply the best week of my life. The beach house is very clean, comfortable and inviting. I found such tranquility by sitting on the porch at night and in the morning, just listening to the waves crashing in. I got up every morning just to see the sunrise and made sure to see as many sunsets as I could. The kitchen is very well equipped and the meals we shared as a family are some of the most treasured memories of the trip. Beth Powers-Lamm was on top of everything with the arrangements and always responded quickly to my emails while planning the trip. Thank you Beth, for sharing your corner of paradise with my family. My parents, brothers and sister in law all agreed with me that this was the best family reunion we have ever had. THANK YOU! As for local attractions, I enjoyed touring St Michael's church, the carriage ride through the city, and touring the customs building where I received a great history lesson in Old Charlestown.

  We are just completing our third February at Lamm's End. Obviously we have liked it to have come back for three consecutive years! The house is warm and inviting and always immaculately clean; JoAnn does a great job. The house is so well equipped that it is easy to make a gourmet meal in the beautiful kitchen using local sea food. Beth has just redecorated the living/dining room area and it is really pretty and comfortable. (It was before, but she made it even better) Now we get to the views -- just the best on Folly!! When you sit on the front porch you can see and hear the waves crashing on the beach; if you decide you want a river view that day, there's the back deck with a wonderful view of the Folly River and the marsh. We love to watch the birds, so it's great entertainment for us. The weather this year has been perfect; temps in the 60's and low 70's almost every day and very little rain. We hope to make a return visit sometime soon.

  Our week at Lamm's End started when we opened the door and the house just smiled at us! What a welcoming, lovely, charming home, with colors that reflect the sun, sand, and sea surrounding it. We found everything we could possibly need in the kitchen, the beds were comfortable, and the views were endless. The owner is wonderful to work with and even stopped by to say hello while she was staying at Folly and to see how we were and if we needed anything. We enjoyed our week immensely and Lamm's End provided a setting where we were able to entertain and renew old friendships as well as meet new friends. Wish we had known there were so many steps, as my husband struggled to get up and down three flights, and had to go down a flight inside the house to the bedrooms. But, we managed, and had a lovely time.

  The perfect house for total relaxation! This was our first experience at Folly and certainly not our last. We found the island to be warm and easy going with fun restaurants and beautiful beaches. The kids surfed and fished while we read and day dreamed for hours on the beach. The house had everything anyone could ask for. It was well stocked and inviting with its multiple decks and happy colors. We wished we could have stayed all summer!

  Beth, This house was simply breath-taking!!!! This has been by far the most enjoyable and relaxing family vacation we have ever experienced!!!! Even with 2 sickly babies we had a most marvelous time!!! I would have to say the ONLY negative of the house is the amount of stairs you have to walk up and down with kids, groceries and luggage. Can't wait to stay here again!!!!!

  Our family spent Spring Break at Lamm's End and had a wonderful time. The accommodations were wonderful and let us feel right at home. We had everything we needed from beach towels to great views. If you are looking for an almost private beach, this is it (at least in March)! Beach access from the house is very easy, and we were the only ones on the beach for most days. We came home with a wonderful collection of sand dollars and sea shells. The proximity of Lamm's End to Charleston also made it easy to spend part of the day taking in the tourist attractions in Charleston. We highly recommend Husk for a nice dinner. For local Folly Beach flavor, we would highly recommend a boat trip to Morris Island by Island Hopper Charters (our boys ages 7 and 5 loved it!) and dinner at Bowen's Island Restaurant.

  We chose this house for a small family retreat in August 2010. Everything worked out beautifully....we cooked seafood on the grill and enjoyed the sunsets over the salt marsh. The house was well appointed and had everything we could think of during our stay. Beach was just a short walk away and much less crowded than other spots I saw during my low-tide bike rides. Tons of maps, menus, and magazines were also helpful in planning our excursion to downtown Charleston. Thanks for everything Beth!

  Lamm's End was the perfect place for our families to spend a week. My husband and I from Singapore, our daughter, son in law and grandson from Nashville, TN and our son, daughter in law and granddaughter from Pittsburgh, PA. The house was spotless upon arrival and we found everything to be just as advertised. Beth was wonderful to work with, promptly answering phone calls and questions. The beach is just a short walk away and the views from the front and back porch are amazing. We made the short drive to town a few times to enjoy lunch at Taco Boy, dinner at Crab Shack and a visit to the playground near Beth's cottage. The Morris Island Lighthouse is just down the road and is worth a visit. On our last evening we had a family photo taken right in Lamm's End back yard, a perfect and lasting memory of a vacation our family will long remember.

  We just completed a month at Lamm's End (Feb, 2010) and what a fantastic house it is. The view of the river and marsh is the best on Folly plus you also have a view to the ocean. Watching the herons and the pelicans fishing was great entertainment. The house is comfortable and inviting and you feel at home the moment you walk in the door. It was the most well appointed home, with everything you could possibly need, that we have ever rented. Beth is wonderful to work with and we hope to be back again in the near future.

  We had Christmas at Lamm's End. Warm, bright, and cheery for the holidays. Easy access to the beach with a partial ocean view, great view over the marsh with lots of waterbirds to watch in the morning. Plenty of parking. New kitchen and all the amenities to cook up a great holiday meal. We'll look forward to going back.

The house very much lives up to expectations; it is beautiful, clean, and modern, and the views are fantastic. Folly and Charleston also are a true pleasure.   Our extended family stayed at Lamm's End for one week in July. The home was well maintained. The front porch was a pleasure for sitting in the rocking chairs and drinking our morning coffee. There was a constant sea breeze on the porch. The boys (and even this mom) enjoyed crabbing on the dock at the rear. We saw a HUGE blue crab-never caught him! Beth was VERY organized and made the reservation and rental process easy and pleasurable. The top floor bedroom/bathroom was small, but workable. Would be best for teen or for those who do not do well with navigating stairs to the bedrooms on lower level. We cooked several meals, and had everything we could need at our disposal. Thanks Beth for a pleasant stay.

  Lamm's End is a delightful home. It is located on a quieter part of the island where one can easily walk (we counted...it's 300 steps) to the uncrowded beach...while at the same time one can sit on the back deck and enjoy the beautiful and quiet tidal marsh. The property is very clean and well-equipped. The beds are extremely comfortable. While Lamm's End is out of the hustle and bustle of Folly Beach, it is just a short drive to the center of town. Our favorite eating spots were Lost Dog Cafe and Taco Boy. Beth, the owner, is very helpful and efficient which made our stay free of worry.We created many fond memories during our stay at Lamm's End and hope to return one day soon.

  Thanks so much for a wonderful Cooper River Bridge Run weekend at Lamm's End! We have been coming to this race for 15 years and this is one of our favorite houses - we love the decor, comfortable bedrooms and the view of the marsh off the back deck is fantastic. The house was clean and well-maintained. After a successful race we had a masseuse come and had massages on the back deck with the sounds and breezes from the marsh - HEAVEN. We had a great time biking to see the Morris Lighthouse, and then to town for lunch. We had wonderful meals at BLU, Center St Kitchen, Crab Shack and Taco Boy on Folly, and loved our French meal at 39 Rue de Jean in Charleston. We had a blast listening to the guy on guitar at Planet Follywood! We had tons of fun our long weekend on Folly and Lamm's End was a big part of that! Thanks so much!

  I returned to Lamm's End (my 4th visit!) for a reunion with a couple of college friends. The place had been updated and was better than ever-- beautiful color scheme, comfortable furnishings -- all the details were wonderful. Everything was in great shape. We enjoyed relaxing in the house, walking on the beach and eating in a couple of the Folly Beach restaurants (Lost Dog Cafe, Taco Boy). We did a very fun 1/2 day kayaking trip-- saw lots of dolphins around Folly Beach, along with oyster beds, egrets and more. A couple of trips into Charleston for meals and shopping made it a perfect getaway. We'll be back!

We wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else in Folly Beach! Beth's attention to detail is phenomenal. A first class way to vacation at a very reasonable price.

  My 40th birthday week was spent at this lovely home and it could not have been more fun and memorable. We had perfect weather, but even rainy days are mastered when you're staying at such a comfortable home! Beth's attention to detail cannot be matched, and we just had a wonderful week. Folly is our favorite beach town and we will continue to live it up at Lamm's End for (we hope) many birthdays to come!

  We so much enjoyed this clean and so nicely decorated beach house, including all the finishing touches of home! And, we simply loved the linens! Hands down, this is the nicest overall beach home that I've ever rented! Thanks to Beth and her house keeper for making everything wonderful!   This was a very comfortable, convenient house (maybe a problem for mobility-impaired guests, since the entrance is up two flights of stairs). Everything works, including the high-speed (ethernet) internet connection (you may need to reboot the modem periodically). Twenty minutes to Charleston, thirty to the airport (a little more in evening rush hour). You can hear the ocean, and see it past the houses on the other side of the street. The beach is gorgeous, clean (the tide sweeps it every day) and firm. The tidal marsh in the back is a real plus, especially for birders. And it's a pleasure dealing with Beth.

  Our family stayed at this wonderful house in March of 2007. We were a bit nervous before we left, as we simply went by the computer reviews, but everything was exactly as described. The beds are very comfortable, the house was spotless, and the location was terrific; Beth Lamm was wonderful. We are looking forward to returning, and I recommend this vacation spot without hesitation!

  The view of the marsh was exquisite, and the privacy it gives you, even on the quieter (also much appreciated) end of the island, is wonderful. Of course, the view out the front to the ocean was wonderful as well. We took a couple of long walks, too. One into town for lunch was quite long, but what else did we have to do on vacation? The other to the lighthouse and back was perfectly completed with a stroll along the beach. We really appreciated the little things about the house that Beth attended to with obvious consideration. She really have provided everything people need. In particular, food and kitchen items like aluminum foil and plastic bags, which are key when you have leftovers. I brought my own spices, but she did have a bunch as well. Not to mention that the kitchen was beautiful and a joy to cook in. Thank you, Beth, for your planning and consideration. I should note that we also enjoyed some of the restaurants in town, especially the Lost Dog Cafe and, surprisingly, Taco Boy --their fish taco was one of the best I've ever had--you should add them to your restaurant list if you're planning to visit Folly. A really lovely house and a perfect rental. Plus, Beth was a pleasure to deal with.

  For 10 days in April of 2006 we called Lamm's End home. It met and exceeded our expectations. Our son recommended the beach as one of his favorite places. We then spent time searching the internet for a Folly Beach rental and found Lamm’s End. Traveling from the west coast we were limited on what we could bring along. We didn’t need to be concerned. Lamm’s End had it all from the coffee grinder to the blender, towels, sheets, paper products and more. Beth's attention to detail was everywhere - the house was clean and well maintained. We simply brought in our groceries, hung up our clothes and made ourselves at home, nothing else had to be done. On the weekends the house would fill with our son and his family. That time was special and memories have now been made that can only happen when you share space together.We enjoyed flights of pelicans, dolphins in the ocean, egrets in the tide flats. We were fortunate to have several days of high temperatures, followed by dramatic thunderstorms that filled the tide flats ending with moderate days perfect for relaxation.The beach was easily accessible and rarely was anyone else there when we chose to use it. Our biggest surprise is how frequently we used the back deck. From morning coffee until evening. The genuine peace you feel while watching the sun go down over the river and tide flats cannot be measured. We returned home having enjoyed one of the most relaxing vacations we’ve had in a long time. Thank you Lamm family for making this property available, we’ll always remember our visit.

  We had a wonderful time! The house was wonderful, especially the kitchen, which has amazing stainless steel appliances. Although eating out in Charleston is a must, we were tempted by that kitchen and used it a lot for breakfast and lunch! The house is in a beautiful, quite location and is perfect for groups.

  What a wonderful beach house, especially the views of the tidal marsh and lighthouse! Decorating was very tastefully done and the house was spotless upon arrival- All the rooms were well-equipped with towels, sheets, cooking and cleaning supplies- all the items appreciated when on a vacation- Thanks for such a pleasant experience at the beach-

  Thank you for a wonderful stay at your lovely beach house! We had a great time, and that was in large part due to our accomodations. The house is amazingly well equipped. There wasn't anything that we needed that wasn't there--and I cooked all week (sigh). The views from both the front and back porches are incredible. We loved watching the tide come in and out of the tidal marsh. The views inside were great too. The house is smartly decorated, making out stay pleasant in every aspect. Again, thanks so much.

  We found Lamm's End to be a delight. It's a great location, and so very nicely furnished, immaculately clean, and very well appointed. What a nice surprise to find all the essentials - paper towels, dish soap, dishwasher soap, laundry soap, sugar, salt, not to speak of the very fine linens. All these made our stay such a pleasure. Thank you for being so thoughtful of your guests.

  Lamm's End provided us with a fabulous vacation home during April. Morning coffee on the front deck watching the waves hit the beach and evening cocktails and/or dinner on the back deck with the setting sun over the tidal marsh, views of Charleston, the bridges, and of course the historical Morris Light were the backdrop for very comfortable and well-appointed living accommodations. Location perfect for beaching activities,shopping in Charleston, and many fine restaurants right on Folly. Last but not least, Beth Lamm is a delight to work with.

  We loved the house, the quiet, and the location of this property. The Lamm's have thought about the needs of their guests and have provided everything required for an enjoyable stay.   As I write this Hurricane Charley is threatening to shorten our stay by a day! This is the first time I've had a marsh view and ocean view simultaneously and the contrast is somewhat unique. We enjoyed Charleston, Isle of Palms, downtown along King Street and the Battery. The house was perfect for what we needed and Beth, your personality is no doubt on the premises. Thanks for everything!

  We all had a lovely time on Folly Beach. We absolutely love this house! The linens, kitchen accomodations, decor, furntiture etc. made us feel so comfortable. It was perfect having two decks with fabulous views. We hope to return in the very near future.

  "A beautiful beach house! We felt right at home. Everything was perfect. Once we figured out the lock, we found it very convenient. We never had to worry about the key." (Lamm's End has keyless entry system.) Folly Beach is a quaint little town. It is the prefect location--- close to the City of Charleston and the beach. Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable.

  "We truly enoyed our vacation here in your wonderful home, Beth. A very special thank you for such quality linens and a clean, manicured interior. Cleanliness has been such an issue for us in the past, being hesitant to use kitchen utensils and feeling comfortable enough to sit on the floor with our baby.
