Our family of 9, (5 adults and 4 children) arrived for our vacation to find that there was no sleeper sofa in the unit. My initial contact information indicated the number of family members and I was never told it only sleeps 6. The current furniture in the unit is not the same furniture shown in the pictures. Couch is not as shown and there is only a table which will seat 6 in the kitchen and only 1 bar stool at the bar. After arriving we contacted the owner and she indicated the listing never said their was a sleeper sofa. It does however indicate it sleeps 6-8. But there are only 3 beds. Pictures of the unit need to be updated. On day 3 of our vacation we had a toilet stop up and I contacted the owner and she indicated she would have a plumber sent out. Day 4 no plumber showed up, day 5, a second toilet stopped up, tried contacting owner again and never heard back. Thankfully the maintenance guy onsite was nice enough to come help us out. Still never heard back from owner. One bathroom has a large amount of mold and mildew on the ceiling. We purchased an air mattress and pump to accommodate our needs so we didn't let the problems with the room spoil our vacation. Destin is our favorite vacation spot and we would definitely stay at Silver Shells again, just not this unit. When you pay a lot for a nice place, you would expect a little more. Owner was not helpful when we tried to contact her and the photos definitely did not accurately reflect the rentals appearance and amenities.Did you find this review helpful?
