Hawthorne House of Newport is located in the city's south end. The private three room suite offers the convenience and comfort of home - in a quiet and relaxing setting. Your privacy is assured as we accept only one booking at a time - in other words, you will be our only guests.

The suite's arrangement and amenities make it ideal for a variety of travelers. Those seeking quiet charm and relaxation will enjoy the back deck or the jetted tub. Business travelers appreciate the high speed or wi-fi Internet access and separate sitting room with telephone. Parents need not worry that their children will disturb other guests - there are no other guests! Children will enjoy the nearby playground and family beach. This home is wheelchair accessible -- please ask us for specifics.

Fully-equipped and nicely decorated, your suite includes a private entrance and off street parking. Oh, did we mention your helpful hosts?   • Terri & Mike, We have to agree with a previous comment, we lucked out finding your place. It was one of the best B&B's we've ever stayed in because we had our home away from home space and a perfect setup for the continental breakfast at our leisure. Banana bread was a delightful treat as well as the afternoon snacks. The "towel fairy" was very efficient. Everything was in a short distance of driving and we finally got the hang of the "one way's" and "do not enter" streets after about 6 laps through the town. You made us feel very welcome and enjoyed your stories of the town and family. Thanks for everything.

  • Mike and Terri~ We lucked out in more ways than one when we booked our one night stay with you at very short notice! Your place was perfect: clean, comfortable, great location,(yay-Gooseberry beach!) and what a wonderful surprise to find all the goodies that you left for us.   • Well, I must say that our stay at the Hawthorne House was very nice. Terry, Mike, and their daughter, Christina were all very accommodating and were more than willing to go out of their way to make our visit as pleasant as possible. The location is within walking distance from most of the mansions, the “cliff walk” and beaches. Located across the street from the park, we were able to walk our dog and play with our son without getting in the car and driving. It is also very close to the downtown wharf area were you'll find restaurants and various tours. The B & B is set-up to accommodate only one party at a time, so you get all of their attention and care! The kitchen was well stocked with fresh fruits, cereal, orange juice, milk, coffee cake, and everything else you need for your breakfast. There was a fold out bed in the living room for our 4 yr. old son, and our dog was greeted with some tasty treats upon arrival. One night my wife and I decided to go on a date and hired Christina (a professional babysitter) to baby sit our son! Not only that we were able to enjoy some time alone but he also enjoyed Christina's company and felt very comfortable with her. Thank you for the great hospitality and lodging, we will be back!

  • We stayed at the Hawthorne House during July 2008 and had a wonderful experience. There were 2 adults, 3 kids and 1 lab. Terri, Mike and Christina were so friendly and helpful and made us feel so comfortable. The kids loved the park right across the street and we loved the mansions, the beaches and wonderful restaurants.

  • We recently spent three nights in this apartment and loved every minute! The apartment is well located to enjoy the attractions of Newport and is kept in sparkling condition. The owners are very gracious and provide a wonderful breakfast and a snack every afternoon. We could not recommend it more highly.
