  We spent two full weeks here Nov 24-Dec 8 2012. Patty and Al are wonderful down-to-earth people who have graciously opened their ENTIRE lower floor up for guests to use in privacy. If like us you enjoy falling asleep to the sound of waves you will love this spot. The spaciousness of our area was much enjoyed as well as sitting eating breakfast on the lanai while watching the waves and the continual action of the blowhole at Spouting Horn. Don't expect a full kitchen. The fridge is 1/2 size. For us though who make porridge and toast and fruit and croissants and coffee for breakfast then head out to explore the island this was definitely adequate. Patty and Al do have a spot in paradise and we feel blessed to have been here and to have met our hosts. Dave and Sylvie from Edmonton

  Owner response: Dave & Sylvie were delightful guests whom with we enjoyed sharing wine and pupus on the lanai. Only sorry we had a night of lightning and thunder to drown out the sound of the waves. We hope to see them again when they need a break from the winter weather in Alberta.

  My wife and I recently celebrated our 30th Anniversary in Kauai and feel very fortunate to have found Al and Patty's place of paradise. The House was an absolute dream and the view is truly priceless. The peaceful town of Koala was just up the road with dining and shopping and Poipu Beach was very close and gorgeous as well. The peaceful solitude of the seaside pool was our refuge day after daily excursions. The Spouting Horn was just steps away. The only bad part of the trip was having to leave that paradise that Al and Patty have provided. Thank you Al and Patty for the memories that will last a lifetime. We will surely be visiting Al, Patty and Kauai again very soon.

• Absolute Paradise!

  It was very important to me to find a non-touristy location that provided privacy and quiet...away from the crowds. Patty & Al's home is perfect. This is a residential setting with the beautiful Pacific Ocean as its backyard oasis. It is not necessary to leave the community in the home's vacinity. Everything needed it literally within a very short distance. The National Botanical Gardens is literally around the corner from the home and is definitely a must-see (rated as National Geographic's Top 5 Must See Places in the world). The local community is extremely hospitable. I traveled solo 4100 miles to stay here, and I can honestly say that it could not have been any more spectacular. It was safe, quiet, and everything I wanted to do was close by. The rental area was quite spacious and more like staying in a home rather than in a cramped condo or hotel room. Having a private pool that is literally steps away from the ocean provide several nice afternoon relaxation times as well as just listening to the ocean. Even having access to the home's laundry facilities was just another nice convenience. I hope to return as often as possible. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is especially wanting space and privacy away from the busy resorts, but close to everything. Patty & Al are the best...they are just a delightful couple.

  Al & Patty have an amazing home in paradise. We had an amazing stay for the very short 4 nights we visited. Wished it could have lasted forever. Pictures just can't do the local justice. They're amazing hosts who are there when you need, them but out of sight most of the time. Reward yourself and give this place a try.

  Amazing view and sound of the ocean, so near you can see it, smell it and listen to it from bed! Beautiful comfortable space. Beautifully maintained pool. Kitchen is not adequate for gourmet cooking but you can cook simple meals and barbecue. Very romantic for couples!

  This is our favorite spot on all of Kauai. What we enjoyed most was hearing the breaking waves on the shore only 20 feet away from our room - so relaxing. The view of Spouting Horn is breath-taking and we watched the sunset every night. Within minutes of our arrival we were swimming in our private Dolphin-tiled pool. It is a work of art! We liked staying away from the crowded Poipu Beach area but with this B & B we were just minutes from Poipu where we went to shop and dine out. Friendly owners, Patty and Al, know all the best places to eat and were helpful in helping us choose. Al is a master builder and the handmade woodwork and indirect lighting throughout this home is awesome. The spacious accommodations were well maintained and sparking clean. We love the walk-in shower with a view of the ocean. I would highly recommend staying at this oceanfront paradise.
