This place is amazing, we loved the fact that the water actually touches the house at night..Right on the beach, although the ocean can get very loud it is to be expected. The Views of the ocean make up for anything negative which wasnt much. The house makes you feel very safe all day, gated windows, gated doors, never at one point i felt unsafe. and in the bedroom you cant hear a thing!! the place is very comfortable and most nights we slept on the hammocks very beautiful place to stay. Location is excellent not to far from San Juan and other places. If you want the island feel and to live with the locals, this is the place to stay. We loved every minute if the stay and the owner was very helpful in giving us tips and information. i would say sleeps 10ppl lots of space and great price everything works and very clean. 2 males 26,27 ....New jersey, USA~~~ Jason_Jay.Did you find this review helpful? My stay was a mixed bag. The home's best feature is the view from the balcony. There is a reason that the listing does not post pictures from the back of the house. A storm went through and destroyed much of the shoreline. No worries as you have the view from the balcony. Be sure to check if renovation work will be going on during your stay. The property was essentially clean...the kitchen could have been better. The closest beach is an eight minute walk and can be seen from the balcony. Quite empty during the week and locals enjoying on the week ends. The house was very secure with bars inside and out. I felt comfortable leaving valuables unattended. The owner and family helpful. EVERYONE told us not to be out at night. There were many empty buildings around the area which brought down the vibe of the neighborhood. The grocery store was more than adequate for our needs. I must mention that the street noise is wicked loud! Earplugs are a must. It comes down to this. If you are looking to relax, hit the beach and just enjoy the sound of the waves, this rental may be for you. If you want to go out and about you will need a car and the willingness to travel a ways to find a bit of life!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway.

We stayed at the Vega Baja beach house for our honeymoon. We enjoyed our time at the house and the photos included in the posting are very accurate for what we found when we arrived. The furniture was updated and modern, the bathroom was very pretty and appeared to be recently renovated. The a/c units worked well in the bedrooms, and we did not experience any problems with the tvs, or internet. Overall we really enjoyed our time, and appreciated that we were right on the water. It was lovely to hear the sounds of the waves at night from the bedroom. The kitchen could use some updating, and our only issue there was using the coffee pot without it tripping the breaker and shutting off the coffee. It would have been nice if the noise from the traffic wasn't as loud in the bedroom, but that wasn't a major problem. The location of the house was great for touring the rest of the island, the privacy and "local" feel was great. This is not a touristy part of the island, and we really enjoyed that. The back patio was fantastic, perfect for relaxing, drinking a Medalla, and playing Dominos. We really enjoyed our time at the Vega Baja beach house.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This house is a wonderful little place right on the water and the view is spectacular. The interior was clean and all the amenities we needed were there. Satellite TV on a nicely sized LCD flat screen and really fast wireless Internet (I benchmarked 11Mbps downstream and 1Mbps upstream for those interested). There was A/C in both bedrooms which made for comfortable sleeping. I will agree with the prior reviewer that cars frequently whizz by at all hours blaring Reggaeton music at insane volumes but we discovered the cure for that is enough DonQ. On the plus side though, you can enjoy listening to the concert of chirps from the Coqui frogs and the soothing sound of the Atlantic lapping against the porch. Joel and his father Enoc were gracious and always helpful. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the house to anyone I know. 5/5 stars! Regarding the location, however, I'd like to share our experience. On a positive note, the closest public beach, Puerto Nuevo, is, in our opinion, the best beach we experienced in Puerto Rico. We visited most of the beaches from Arecibo all the way to Luquillo and Puerto Nuevo is the best. Luquillo was beautiful but too many people. In Cerro Gordo we almost got robbed. Mar Chiquita isn't as good for swimming. Puerto Nuevo is just right as it was never crowded, had a nice breeze, good swimming, and we always felt safe. I would strongly recommend that you do not climb the rocks though. It is dangerous as I stupidly discovered when a wave crashed into me and I badly lacerated my foot. That early evening, my wife went to get some medicine for my foot at CVS, took a wrong turn, ended up on a dead end street and was attacked by a gang of thugs. She escaped unharmed but it was still traumatizing to her. Vega Baja seems like a safe neighborhood especially where the house is but stick to the main roads (like 686) at night. I almost forgot to mention that the Pinchos and Pina Coladas from the vendor by the entrance to Puerto Nuevo are very tasty. In addition, Vega Baja is a 30min drive to the Casino at Dorado del Mar if you're so inclined. And, Old San Juan is only about 40mins if you take the expressway (22). All in all it was a wonderful trip we were heartbroken when our 10 days was up and we had to leave. Puerto Rico is a beautiful island with lots to do and lots to see. Adios a la Isla del Encanto....Te extrañaremos muchisimo!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I will start the review with the pro's of this cute little beach then go into my con's, first I can't say enough about the beautiful view, it was wonderful to wake up and have breakfast and coffee out there. I also enjoyed my morning walk on the beach to look for sea glass and small shells. The kitchen is set up pretty good except it does need some cereal bowls, there were no small bowls in house. The coffee machine works but you have to watch it, it pops a fuse often and if you walk away and come back for coffee it won't be ready but the Puerto Rican is so good, enjoyed every cup it. The owners were very nice, polite and quick to take care of a missing cork screw for us-lol, but check in was a bit long, it took over an hour and half to check in, which is very long when your on vacation and excited to hit the beach. Okay I hate to mention any negative stuff but to be honest in my reviews I have to do it. The worst part of the beach house is the traffic noise, the cars and trucks are so loud when they drive by, sounds like they are right in the room, there is traffic almost all night but it gets really bad starting at about 5am, so was very hard to sleep in and sound all night, if your a light sleeper like I am, I would suggest taking earplugs. The road is very close to the house so if you have small children keep a close eye, cause there were alot of speeding cars driving by. Also the house carport that is pictured is actually a no parking zone, it is public beach access so you must park on the side of the street which I thought was a bit odd but it wasn't that big of a deal, we found parking daily anyhow. I think if you are staying for five days or longer like we did, you will find that the towels start to stink and there is no washer or dryer, it is so humid that nothing dried when we hung them outside, would be helpful if owners switched towels out after three days. Also not having A/C in entire house does wear you out after five days, when you take a shower you feel like you are still wet because it is so hot and humid but run into the bedrooms and you will find them chilly but if you are someone who doesn't handle the heat well be ready to sweat and sweat-it's really hot. I say all these things with the best intentions for the next traveler to be prepared and for the owners to keep making there Vega Baja retreat more restful and beautiful, thanks Joel and Enoc so very much, may we meet againRecommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

The house was great, and the location was fantastic. During our stay we drive pretty much all over the island. We spent the first portion of our trip in Aguadilla and the drive to Vega Baja wasn't very long. The house is also pretty nearby San Juan and the location is ideal if you want to explore various parts of the island. The only downside is the numerous gates and doors, however this is typical of most homes on the island. The house next door was also very close however it did not effect the quality of our stay. The ocean view is unbeatable and at night during high tide the ocean actually crashes onto the bottom of the house, and is pretty loud, creating a hypnotizing super relaxing atmosphere with a hint of reggaeton in the background from the locals. Theres a bunch of stores nearby, as well as a beach for swimming , all in all the house was great and I would stay here again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 5/5

This cozy little beach house is located directly on the beach. The view and natural ocean sounds are incredible to wake up/ go to sleep to every night. Several near by stores withing a short driving distance. Easy place to find ( our arrival time was almost near midnight and the driving was a breeze). The whole family is very helpful and kind. We spent most of our days on the beach, exploring the town and loving the back deck. BREATHTAKING views.....Clam during the weekday, more of a party crowd on the weekend. Thanks for sharing your beachfront home with us : )Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4

DEAR JOEL: WE HAD A WONDERFUL TIME AT YOUR CONDO. THE TOWN'S PEOPLE WERE SO FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL SINCE NONE OF US FOUR WOMEN SPOKE SPANISH. THE CONDO WAS ACTUALLY BIGGER THAN EXPECTED. THE ONLY DISAPPOINTMENT WAS THE BEACH OUT BACK. WE HAD ONE LADY WHO HAD TROUBLE WALKING BUT WHEN WE DISCOVERED THE HIDDEN LAGOON WITH THE WATERFALLS, YOUR BEACH WAS SOON FORGOTTEN. THE VIEW FROM THE BALCONY WAS OVERWHELMING BEAUTIFUL. TELL YOUR DAD WE SAID HI AND THANKS FOR HIS HELP. HOPE TO RENT AGAIN. Joan, Debbie, Diane, and DoraDid you find this review helpful? If your the vacationer that is accustomed to an all-inclusive, this may not be your style. If you would really like to see Puerto Rico and meet the really friendly people then I would recommend Vega Baja. We (8 ) people just stayed at this beach home. It was close to everything. The interior and exterior are perfectly represented in the pictures posted. There is a lovely beach minutes walk from the house and it great for kids and older people who don't like to be tossed around by waves. Playa Los Tubos was awesome, most days during the week we were the only people out there. You do need a car to drive to it. Stop in at the bar restaurant and the friendly people may buy you a drink . The freeway system is great and easy to get around. There are many big stores to get your groceries that require driving to or there is a great little econo store 2 blocks away. Very friendly happy employees that worked around our poor Spanish. The owners were easy to get a hold of if we needed anything and very nice to deal with. We drove over 700 km and saw a good amount of the countryside. Beautiful ! Great Vacation.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 7/8
