As you walk in the front door into the Great Room, the first response is always "Wow!" What a colorful, comfortable space with absolutely incredible oceanfront views! The entire back of the house is windows, windows, windows!
Come stay at this spacious oceanfront home located on prestigious Marlin Drive and enjoy the best beach and the best ocean views on Fripp Island.
This smoke-free beach home is designed with a panoramic beach and ocean views from most of the rooms - the great room, dining room, kitchen, master bedroom and two other large bedrooms. The home is a generous 4400 square feet and feels bigger. There are sun decks on every level that span the entire length of the house. Lounge on the sun deck and watch the dolphins dancing in the surf or walk down one of the few private pathways to the beach to lounge in the sand!
Moving into the kitchen you will find a design that is perfect for families and friends that want to hang-out and cook together. Or bring in a personal chef since it has everything to prepare special meals. You just bring the food. Guests can chat with you at the counter divider, or enjoy the adjacent screened porch.
At the end of 2009, we replaced all of the King and Queen beds with new LUXURY thick firm mattresses!!! This will the best night sleep you have had in a long time.
On the ground level is a bunk bed area, large bath, and a game room which includes a ping pong table, foos ball, and game table with a seperate TV room enhancing a 55" HDTV. The kids will want to live in this area the whole time!
The beach home will sleep 18-20. The large master bedroom suite has premium views, a large deck, a six jet Jacuzzi tub and seperate jet shower for relaxing, lots of closet space and a TV for your own getaway. Upstairs are five bedrooms with a "two bedroom suite" for privacy on each side of the upper floor. Each "suite" has a full bath, making 4 full baths for the house and a "beachy" powder room on the main floor. A fifth bedroom upstairs has a large window facing the street with a comfy queen bed. All bedrooms are good size to huge!
Resort amenity cards are available for purchase. These must be used to access the pools, tennis, restaurants, etc.

Why the Owner Chose Private Homes
We chose to purchase a home on Fripp after experiencing the area for 3 years. Uncle Sam and Aunt Betty had just sold a condo in Gulf Shores, Alabama and were looking for a place to reinvest. We told them about this area and when they came down, they also fell in love with it. So, we started our search and partnered with them on this house.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The view is so breathtaking! There is no question that you will be mesmerized upon stepping in the front door. I have often found myself going over there to check on the home and then just had to sit down and stare out the windows at the magnificent ocean and beach. It will pull you in.

Ron and I own this house with my Aunt Betty and Uncle Sam. Ron and I live here in Beaufort, SC having moved here 5 years ago from Atlanta. We have three girls, now 12 and 8 (twins). We are very involved in the youth orchestra; our daughter plays the violin. Uncle Sam and Aunt Betty live in Oshkosh, WI. They spend a few months down here in the winter (can't imagine why??)!! We hope that they will choose to retire in Beaufort at some point in the near future.

The house is very very nice. Cozy with plently of space. The beach is not close at all to the house though which was a little upsetting since the listing said it was a short walk. I guess it is a short walk if you think the length of 3 football fields is a short walk. I also thought it was funny how no golf carts are included in the rental but there are 2 of them just sitting in the garage. But we did have a great time and the kids loved it.
Owner response:The beaches on our barrier islands vary year to year with the accretion and erosion of sand. At this point in time, our beaches are accreting, which means sand is accumulating. This is good news in that it provides beach 24/7. On the south end of the island and a little further north, there is only beach access at low tide; we currently have beach available all day. The pathway to the beach is through sand dunes that grow as the area is accreting. So, as you walk to the beach you can see nature up close, enjoy the views and get to the beach within 3 minutes. We do own two golf carts, but we do not provide them for our guests. We have found that it is too costly to provide golf carts to our guests because we do not have the skills to make repairs ourselves. Golf carts are available to rent from three sources: Sutcliffe, Fripp Resort, Carolina Carts, enabling easy access for our guests to get a golf cart. It is a fun way to cruise around on the island. Most folks are either walking, bike riding, or driving to their destination by golf cart. It is not necessary, but the children especially enjoy the breeze blowing in their faces as they go to the pools, playgrounds, or other beach access points.
