Had a nice week enjoying the warm fall of Cape Cod. The house was very comfortable and big with just about every ammenity you could think of. We used the deck for all meals and watched the beautiful sunsets every night. Beaches were an easy short walk and fun at low tide. Master suite was great, den was comfortable as was the rest of the house. Only disappointment was that the outside shower was under the deck, would like to be out in the sunshine! No complaints, and hope to be back next fall.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, people with disabilities, girls getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2011
About the owner: Agent for Owner: Bud Macomber Meadow Marsh Realty Route 6 At the Windmill PO Box 355 Eastham, MA 02642 Phone: 508-255-1500 The owners are both retired educators. Bill taught history and Melissa taught Latin in the Duxbury Public Schools for 35 years. We enjoy reading, travelling, good films, spending time with family, and Eastham on Cape Cod.
Why the Owner Chose Eastham:
Bill's family first bought land in Eastham in 1947 and we returned each summer throughout my youth. My mother moved permanently here in 1975, naming her home 'Wind, Sand, and Stars' after the stories of the same name by Antoine de Saint Exupery ('The Little Prince'). Melissa also fell in love with Eastham. For a long time we dreamed that some day we might also own a home here. That day came and we are thrilled to be the current owners of this wonderful beach home in such a beautiful setting. We have named our new home, 'Opie Wind, Sand and Stars', taking the former name from an ancestor on Melissa's side of her family and the latter part of the name from our family's first Eastham home.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
As one summer resident once described time spent in Eastham in the 1950s, 'It never rained here!' There was always something to do at our beach home and in our neighborhood, regardless of the weather. During the day, there is the beach. If its low tide, there is nothing like a long walk on the tidal flats, digging for clams, or making sand castles with the kids. If you really want to swim when its low tide, head for the ocean side to Nauset Beach or to Great Pond. They are both just 3 miles away. Another great feature is our proximity to area attractions from Orleans to Provincetown. Take a nature walk on any of several that are part of the National Seashore. Bring your bikes and take advantage of the nearby paved bike trail. If you are a kayaker, Eastham is the place. In the evening, get an ice cream at any one of several local establishments from Orleans to Wellfleet. Lastly, make sure you are back home by 8:00 PM so you can take in the sun setting over Cape Cod Bay. We have the most beautiful sunsets this side of the Grand Canyon!
