Our stay here was fantastic. The location is great and is essentially centered and with easy access to Bourbon, Frenchman, Canal, Jackson Square and Louis Armstrong Park depending upon your pleasure. It is quiet with very little street traffic and the place has some character as well with nice hardwood floors plus most modern amenities. It is up a spiral staircase which was no issue for us but should be considered. If you like to sleep late the bedroom can be very dark or if you prefer to rise early just keep the doors open. We did not hang out on the patio but it is set up to be used by guests. The caretaker set us up with an early arrival and checked in on us pro-actively once during our stay.

Great Place

We recently enjoyed the comforts of this great guesthouse. McKenzie and Jamie were great to work with and very responsive to any need. Jamie had a list of great local places for us to try so we didn't feel quite so much like a tourist and McKenzie even knew a great urgent care facility when a medical issue cropped up. Look down the street and see the cathedral from your front porch. Can't do better than that!

Wonderful Stay in the French Quarter

My husband and I celebrated a special birthday in NoLo and stayed in this cool, rustic-chic vacation rental. The location is excellent for strolling around the French Quarter and surrounding areas, like Frenchman Street in Faubourg Marigny, the French Market, and the Moon Walk along the river. The accomodations were very clean and comfortable (very comfortable bed) - much roomier and interesting than a hotel room. The cute kitchen was nice to have; it was well-stocked with items we needed for a few night's stay. We stayed in the quarters that sleep four (pull-out couch); it was quite roomy for the two of us. It's up a winding outdoor staircase, with entry from the main house's garden courtyard. The place is every bit as adorable as the photos. This rental is close to Bourbon Street, but far enough away from the bar scene to be a peaceful respite. McKenzie, the owner, was warm and welcoming. Her manager, Jamie, guided us to nearby eateries and markets, which made our stay feel quite "local." We loved our stay in NoLo, including our choice of accomodations. It's a special "home" away from home. Thanks, guys! We look forward to returning real soon!!!

Superbowl FUN!!

Three of us (my husband, myself and our 21 year old daughter) stayed for six days in the downstairs unit for Superbowl, and it was an absolute blast! It was the perfect set-up for us; we had one room, with a bathroom, and my daughter had her own room and bathroom. Beds were comfortable, and bathrooms were very nice; one is quite a bit larger than the other. My daughter claimed she would be happy living here forever! She had her own entrance as well. We could not have picked a better place, location wise, and comfort wise. Everything was within walking distance, and we did a lot of walking, yet at night we were distant enough from the "partying" for peace and quiet. We loved our mornings having coffee (one morning with beignets) in the patio area, and hanging out with resident cat. The weather was perfect, except for one rainy day/evening, so we ordered pizza to be delivered, and just hung out. The owners made sure that if we needed anything, we could let them know. There was a small issue with the lack of channels on the TV, which was resolved (we really just wanted some Superbowl pre-game show), and the Wi-Fi was really non-existent. But, in the end...who cares...you're in New Orleans!! I would definitely be a return "renter", perhaps trying the upstairs unit next time. It appears that one has a little more of a living room area, which would have been nice. But in the end, you will not be sorry at all with time spent here. My only suggestion would be to have some luggage stands (we had to keep our luggage on floor).

Owner response: ATT frequently has problems, but we typically resolve that with connecting in the courtyard. So sorry you had connectivity issues - wireless can get crazy in the Quarter during busy events too like Super Bowl and Mardi Gras, so perhaps that was the issue. Great tip on the luggage racks - already placed them in each room! Come back and see us anytime!

Awesome location. Pictures and description are accurate. Terrific rental experience from a team you can trust. Very comfortable bed! Would recommend to anyone who wants more space than a hotel room in a safe, French Quarter residential area.

The listing description, as well as the photos, accurately reflected this wonderful place. McKenzie and Luke greeted us our first evening and got us settled in quite well. They were prompt and friendly when we had questions and requests. We especially enjoyed our daily visitor, their pet cat. We couldn't remember his name, so we named him ourselves, and he became our vacation buddy. We stayed a week for our honeymoon and thoroughly enjoyed the location, the peace & quiet, and the fact that although our hosts were a text/call away...they gave us our privacy as well. (My husband especially liked that.) We also loved that they provided a little heater for the bathroom for us since it was cooler weather when we arrived...we have the exact same thing at home and it made this place home for us. We want to visit NOLA again and we would book this place without any doubt.

So Much Nicer than a Hotel

Felt like a local when staying in this great, pet friendly guest home! Excellent location for checking out many of NOLA's attractions. Perfect size for two people and two small pups with all the comforts from home. Gated courtyard was not only pretty, but also safe. The owners were responsive and helpful. Hope to make it back very soon!

My wife and I just finished a great trip to New Orleans. We stayed at a very nice apartment just 2 blocks from Bourbon St.. The place was clean, charming, and had everything we needed and more. The owners were helpful and friendly. We are very satisfied and would love to stay there again.

This is the perfect setting for a getaway to New Orleans. Not only are the facilities excellent but the host and hostess are the best of New Orleans hospitality; anything that is needed for a great stay is available for the asking. The property is located within the French Quarter and parking is not a problem. So much better than a hotel as there is amply room to "spread out". We plan on returning to this rental for Christmas. Thank you again Michele and Luke for a great weekend of home away from home.

This condo was the perfect location for enjoying ALL of New Orleans has to offer. Very comfortable for 3 and just a couple of blocks from Bourbon St. Owners were very knowledgable and very helpful. Nice and quiet but only seconds from all the action. Would HIGHLY recommend this condo

We very much enjoyed our stay in New Orleans. We did not rent a car and found the property to be an easy walk from anywhere in the French Quarter. The accommodations had everything we needed, it was quiet and we slept well in the comfortable bed. McKenzie was helpful in suggesting attractions and activities, such a the Art Walk on Magazine Street. Overall the suite met our expectations, with the exception of one area: the suite was not as clean as we would have liked, particularly the kitchen and the bathroom. This is something that should be rectified for future vacationers.

Clean and comfortable

The property is in a residential neighborhood a short walk from the center of the french quarter. Property is secure and well lit in a residential neighborhood. Bed was comfortable and and everything clean and homey. A couple of improvements could make this property excellent. Cable tv. We had a few channels but the signal was intermittent. (not a big deal unless you like to watch tv late at night) and the parking is not guaranteed. I got lucky and found a spot in front and the owner provided a residential parking permit. But if a spot is not available nearby Im not sure what alternatives there are for parking. All in all it was a fun and postive experience.. My unit was on the 2nd floor with a spiral staircase access. No problem for me but could be for older people and smaller children.

Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway.

The photos does this place no justice at all!! It is beautiful!!!This was an amazing place to stay for the weekend. Right in the heart of the French Quarter! We parked our car Friday and didn't move it until it was time to leave on Sunday! Everything is in walking distance! What more could you ask for. Everything from the amazing hospitality showed to us from the owners to the beautiful antique, yet modern look of the place made this weekend getaway that much more memorable! I plan to continue using this place when I come back to New Orleans!

This property is so convenient to the French Quarter. We did not use our car and had a great parking space right in front of the house. We also felt very safe walking to and from this location in the very quiet neighborhood. The bedding was great and the apartment had everything we needed. The hosts were exceptionally helpful and looked after us in every way. I would stay here again. It is a perfect place for a couple looking looking for "New Orleans Flavor".

I am sooo glad we found this place! We visit New Orleans several times a year and have always stayed at the Royal Orleans Hotel. Well never again! This apartment couldn't be more perfect. The location was superb and gave us more of a local feel than just being another tourist. As you walk out of the gate, you immediately see the Cathedral just blocks away. You can crawl to and from Bourban Street which is two blocks over. And you will LOVE McKenzie and Luke. They are so hospitable and take care of anything you need. They are the bomb.com! :-) This place will definately be our new home away from home........Xoxo

this was my first time to new orleans, and this was the PERFECT place to stay. my husband and i were very comfortable in the cozy apartment stocked with everything we could possibly need. i cannot say enough about the location. you can explore the french quarter with ease, but escape to your quite street when you are done with the madness. we even walked to the WWII museum and to jazz fest (a little distance, but totally walkable). we did as much as we could in our 5 days, but cant wait to go back and do more. we will absolutely stay at the vbro again. property manager was super easy to deal with and contact. and the owner had an overwhelming wealth of information regarding the city. i have been bragging about my NOLA trip and telling all of my friends that THIS IS THE PLACE TO STAY.

My husband and I arrived in New Orleans on a thursday afternoon and we were greeted by the property manager. We were in New Orleans with a group of 12 to celebrate a friend's 50th birthday. Some of our friends were staying on Bourbon Street. We had searched for reservations at hotels in the area and found that they were difficult to come by as well as being tremendously expensive. We had our doubts about staying in a different place than our friends, but found that it worked out very well. All of the fun of Bourbon Street was only a few blocks away, but when we were ready to sleep, we could leave all of the noise behind. We did have a car with us in New Orleans, but we never used it. Our location was close enough to walk everywhere we wanted to go. We had a slight glitch with the hot water, but this was immediately taken care of by the owner and manager. (They also left us a gift at our door for the inconvenience) We found the apartment clean and well stocked with coffee, cream and snacks for our enjoyment. We also found the bed to be extremely comfortable. I am somewhat of a "good sheet snob" and I could not have been more comfortable even if I had been at home. I do think this apartment would be a little crowded for 2 adult couples, but it was a great vacation spot for my husband and me.

Reserved this apartment in March 2012 (intended to stay over St Patricks Day weekend). Upon arrival found the unit had not been cleaned and that satellite was not available. Trash in the kitchen, refrigerator and bathroom. Closet and bathroom drawers filled to capacity with personal items I assume belong to the owner. The until was 88 degrees according to the thermostat. Description implies this until is suitable for 4 - in my opinion it is not. Not only is this unit tiny - four people would be stepping over each other - the sofa bed has a mattress about an inch thick - perhaps small children would be able to sleep on it but not adults. Location is on the outskirts of the quarter - we thought the area seemed questionable until we saw more of the area and determined it was not unlike the rest of the quarter. The booking agent was available and contacted the owner immediately about concerns. I gave the rating of Fair rather than Poor because the owner promptly issued a refund. If not for the condition of the unitwhen we arrived I would rate it slightly higher but not much.

Owner response: The unit was under a management change on that date and we provided a full refund immediately upon discovery of the conditions AND offered to have the unit recleaned within an hour. Since then we have a full new staff and the owner is now personally involved in every transaction, as well as reviewing the cleaning before rental. We have had nothing but pleased guests since including multiple guests of 4 adults for up to a week who loved the space and found the beds accommodating and the apartment spacious. If looking for a two bedroom suite and two full beds rather than a pull out, there are plenty of hotels in the Quarter that may be more suitable. At our rates this wonderfully appointed apartment in an ideal location of the Quarter is a great value.

My friends and I stayed here for Mardi Gras 2012 and we could not have chosen a better spot! Not only was it a great deal, it is in the perfect location! Just three short blocks from Bourbon Street and the excitment of the French Quarter, this spot should definitely be on your list for places to stay in New Orleans. It's close to all the incredible sight-seeing the French Quarter has to offer but tucked away so you're not bothered by any noise. The perfect combination! The cottage is gorgeous, and the balcony and courtyard are the perfect spot to relax! The pictures do not do this spot justice!
