The place really need TLC. On the outside it looks great. Inside it was so run down. But with the pool and the location the kids enjoyed time there. We had a great time out by the pool. We tried not to stay inside at all. If the place was fixed, we would love to come back again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

Referring to the Tips and Guidelines for writing a review: 1) Listing accurate regarding location - Yes 2) Photos accurately reflect apprearance and ammenities - No. Although they do show the sparse furniture and decor they do not show the filthy appearance, broken and nasty leather couches. Appliances were hard to operate since the wording has been worn off. Dishwasher had an odd smell, and didn't clean very well. And the grill, hahahaha, we purchased one ourselves and left it there. Door on the attached unit can only be locked from the inside, no key. There are tvs in the rooms, good luck on getting to watch anything except in the living room and one bedroom. Condition of bedding was less that Motel 8 (I assume, have never actually stayed in a Motel 8), had to search for bedding for one bed and make the bed ourselves. Oh, and good luck enjoying the pool area at night. Be ready to dodge flying waterbugs. They were infested in the grassy area by the pool. I realize the house is by water but come on. Miraculously none were in the house. Great AC. 3) Property clean and well maintained - ABSOLUTELY NOT, walls in desperate need of paint or a good cleaning maybe (doubtful), towel/tp holders hanging on walls, curtains ripped and barely hanging on the wall, hand held shower heads hanging and not staying on the wall, baseboards filthy, good luck with hot water in the kitchen, lack of trash bins in bathrooms. 4) Owner helpful - honestly didn't even address him, too many to fix in a weeks time. Figured just make it through the week (how often would we be there anyways) and move on. 5) Recommendation - ABSOLUTELY NOT, unless you are there to stay drunk the whole time. 6) Nearby activities, attractions, and restaurants - S Padre is a nice little island, beach is great, Schlitterbahn is a must, The bay fishing trip the boys took and the waverunner tour were good. The sand dunes are something to see as well, pretty neat. It was very disappointing to have such a nice home be so neglected. Our resident friends down there told us it sounded like the house was victim to many Spring Breakers with little or no maintenance. This is our fourth home to rent through VRBO, the first three were great. There were some red flags through the rental process that were in the back of my mind but I didn't listen. Learned lesson here is, if there aren't many reviews for a location and if there really isn't any "rental agreement" move on. All we had was a form for payment.Did you find this review helpful? Me and my Family rented this house on Mar 16 of this year for a lil family spring Break Vacation It was Nice .We had a good time and we are looking foward to renting this house againRecommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing.
