Alice Moseley 'Blue House' Studio/ Apartment
- Minimum stay:3 nights
- Internet:No
- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:Yes
The studio apartment contains about 500 square feet and consist of a separate dining and kitchen area. There is a full sized refrigerator, a toaster oven, microwave, crockpot and electric skillet. There is not a stove in this unit. There is a table with four chairs in the breakfast nook. The bedroom has a full size pillow top mattress, antique furniture and two windows. The sitting room has a sofa bed. There is a full bath with shower and tub. All dining and kitchen utensils are furnished and extra towels and bed linens are in the apartment. The apartment is large enough to handle two or three people comfortably and we thought that it would provide travelers with a larger than motel room space as well as cooking facilities and at a cost that is less than the price of a basic motel room. There is a small fenced in yard, along with the much larger grounds. There are oak trees and palmettos in the yard, and wind chimes and bird feeders. There is a gas barbecue grill outside. The Gulf is a half block away, the L&N Depot building (housing the Alice Moseley Folk Art & Antique Museum, as well as a Mardi Gras Museum) is directly across the park from the house. Next to the Depot is the Duck Pond, and you are walking distance from Olde Town. It is a truly lovely neighborhood, and the Blue Studio is a less expensive way to enjoy Bay St. Louis.

This was a great place to stay--close to the beach and to downtown, and very reasonably priced. It was neat to stay in the former home of a local folk artist. Listing was accurate and property was clean. Communication with owner/manager was easy and smooth, and they were extremely responsive to a specific need we raised. We would definitely recommend this property, and Bay St. Louis, to others. Bay St. Louis is a quiet, lovely little southern beach town with lots of charm, good restaurants and unique shops, and very little of the more gaudy form of "touristy" that I really do not like. Within easy distance of other Gulf cities like Biloxi, Gulfport, and New Orleans.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: So glad you enjoyed your stay...we love to share our beautiful town!

This studio was just the right thing and it was inspiring to see Alice Mosely's prints on the wall. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. One thing I'd like to mention - I emailed Tim a few weeks before my trip - saying I only needed the property for 3 instead of 4 days. There was no way to change this online. Is it possible I could put the "extra night" towards deposit on a future visit? Thanks again!Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

We had a great time and the location of the cottage was perfect for us, as it was close to everything in "Old town". The cottage was very cute and had everything we needed. Very good value for the money! The only thing that we thought could have been improved, was that the bed was only double and the mattress seemed not firm enough for us. We lived in old town last year for 9 months and you will not find nicer, friendlier people than here. Thank you Tim for sharing your moms house with us. The memories will be with us forever! We will be back.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

We began our tour of Mississippi at Mr. Faulkner's house in Oxford, learned about the blues in Clarksdale and antebellum life in Natchez. We enjoyed learning about Alice Moseley and the Mississippi Gulf Coast and thoroughly enjoyed our visit in Bay St. Louis.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
