This fabulous 'Scandinavian-Country' home was once a notorious Yaak River Valley bar called Hell Roaring Saloon. Lovingly converted to a year-round family residence, it features an IKEA kitchen, a fully remodeled bathroom with tub and shower, river view dry bar, a library and a large master bedroom featuring a queen-sized bed with an unobstructed view of the Tamarack forested mountain across the river. There is a sleeper sofa (queen sized) in the main living area for a second couple.
In addition, there is a separate log cabin (perfect for kids or a second couple seeking their own privacy) with one bedroom and a sleeping loft, full shower, small kitchen and it's own satellite TV. The cabin has two double beds, two twin beds and a sleeper hide-a-bed.
All of this on an open and SUNNY five-acre plot with a whopping 1,200 feet of private river front that wraps around the main building and flows within 15 feet of the full-view bar and front windows. Walk your kayak or fly rod to the river and be on the water in 30 seconds.
This is a 'get away from it all' vacation opportunity. Leave your cell phone at home (they don't work in the valley.) The trail head to Mt. Baldy is less than 100 yards from your front door. The deer and moose viewing - from your seat at the bar if you so choose - is incredible and your backyard is the Kootenai National Forest and the beautiful Yaak River.
Hunker down in your own piece of paradise, or use the place as a base camp for exploring the valley's multitude of gated forest service roads, hiking trails, secluded lakes and water falls. Once feted as 'the most remote valley in the lower forty-eight' The Yaak offers a truly unique vacation opportunity.
Don't let its name fool you ... the Hell Roaring property is quiet, beautiful and relaxing. The ultimate wilderness vacation for friends and family.

The Yaak Valley Lodge was perfect for our needs! We were very comfortable and of course the October weather cooperated perfectly. The lodge is spacious, clean and very well equipped. The property is beautiful and nicely situated on a bend of the Yaak River, which is in constant view via the bank of windows along three sides of the house. The adjacent cabin was a bonus and comfortably accommodated 4 additional members of our family. We wanted for nothing but more vacation days there! Don't hesitate to book a reservation here!Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Location
Owner info
Year Purchased: 1998
About the owner: We are native Washingtonians who discovered the Yaak on a fly fishing trip to the northwest Montana. One day in the valley was all it took to know that we wanted to own property and spend time in this magical place. We bought the vacant Hell Roaring Saloon three days later and still marvel at our good fortune.
Why the Owner Chose Troy:
'The Yaak' is a remote wilderness valley in the two million acre Kootenai National Forest. Less than 10% of its land mass is privately owned. Our place - and river front - is bordered on the west and north by national forest. It's private, accessible and has an incredible - and notorious - historical connection to the valley.
The Unique Benefits at this Lodge:
The solitude and abundance of wildlife make staying in The Yaak a truly unique experience. Besides the beautiful surroundings, we see moose, deer, beaver, otters, eagles, osprey and owls...not to mention a wide variety of smaller - but no less enjoyable - flora and fauna
