Like to golf? The backyard and master suite lanai overlook a canopy of African tulip trees and the seventh fairway of the Princeville Makai Course. The Golf Digest #1 ranked Prince Course is a 5 minute drive.
Like to surf? Big winter surf at Hanalei Bay, Waikoko and Tunnels will challange the experienced surfers, and the milder summer surf will appeal to all levels. Multiple reefs along the north shore allow breathtaking snorkeling for the less adventurous.
THE GREATROOM...
The heart of Hale Nalu is the spacious, open beam great room. Teak and bamboo furnishings surround you with the island feeling. In addition to cable HD TV, DVD, video, fast wireless internet access and Bose stereo, we've furnished the best Hawaiian CD's and entertaining movies. Two palm frond ceiling fans and a gallery of windows capture the gentle trade winds. Expansive glass doors and windows make this room the perfect place to relax and "talk story". Outdoor dining is accessed on the lanai through this room. Love to play music but left your instruments at home? You'll love the music area with a guitar, ukulele, djembe, conga drums, rain sticks and percussion shakers.
BEDROOMS...
Hale Nalu provides three spacious suites, each with its own bathroom. Upstairs is the private master suite with bamboo floors and a lanai overlooking the african tulip trees and golf course. The pillowtop king bed is furnished with fine linens for your comfort. A TV and CD player/alarm clock complete your peaceful retreat.
Two downstairs bedrooms include one with a king bed, TV, CD/alarm clock radio, wonderful linens and of course an attached granite and tile bathroom with a shower. The second bedroom has 2 twin beds, TV, CD/alarm clock radio, whimsical tropical linens, and attached granite/tile bathroom with a tub and enclosed shower. There is plenty of space in this room for the queen aerobed if needed to add sleeping for eight.
KITCHEN
The roomy kitchen is a joy to cook in with room for friends and conversation at the granite breakfast bar. Black granite counters nicely contrast the light alder cabinetry, new stainless steel appliances, glass cooktop, cookware, microwave, dishwasher...the list goes on. The adjoining dining room is surrounded by windows and overlooks the lanai and golf course. The teak table seats 8 comfortably, with additional seating at the granite bar. The lanai offers a table for six for outside dinning and a new WEBBER cgas barbecue.
Bikes (3), beach chairs and towels, cooler, boogie boards, games and cards,videos, DVD's and CD's are provided.
LOCATION
Grocery,dining and shopping at the Princeville Center are conveniently across the way, with Hanalei's wonderful restaurants and shops 2 minutes down the hill. The Happy Talk Lounge for live music and gorgeous view is located at the Hanalei Bay Resort, just a short drive (or longer walk), and spa services are available at the Princeville Hotel, also a short distance.
You will treasure your time here and find yourself wanting to return to this beautiful home located in one of the most beautiful places on earth.

My family spent 20 nights at this spacious and fully maintained property during Christmas and New Years this past holiday. We have traveled to Kauai's north shore many times in the past 30 years and our love affair with the north shore has never waned. We always rent a house or condo because of the extended length of our stays and it also gives us, at least in perception, a feeling of being a bit "local" instead of totally tourista's. Hale Nalu was a great choice and find for the lifestyle and activities we pursue in Kauai. The listing description is very accurate but the photos, simply because of their physical limitations, under-show the design, functionality and space this beautiful residence exhibits. The grounds are beautiful, private and routinely maintained. The back yard and full lanai decks extended the size and function of the residence itself. The furnishings, bedding, entertainment accessories (HDTV's, Bose radio/CD players) and especially the uber supplied kitchen all exceeded expectations. The entire transaction was relatively flawless and meeting Scott on our arrival, to answer any questions and show us the in's and out's of the property was greatly appreciated. We never had to contact Scott during our stay because we encountered no problems, but felt confident that with one call any questions or concerns would be immediately addressed and resolved. The north shore activites, entertainment and dining options are too numerous to mention here (Trip Advisor Reviews are a great resource) but a quick reference guide for eating is the Princeville Center for the Lotus Garden Chinese and Thai and Federico's Fresh Mex for a great and varied option.....just across the street. Also the Dolphin Fish Market in Hanalei for the freshest caught Hawaiian fish and specialty sushi rolls. Put the flawless weber grill to work and take advantage of the multible farmers markets and fish markets available. In the 20 days we were there we were in the water every day. Hawaii is so beautiful but it really is about the water. During winter, especially, care needs to be taken relative to activities and beaches chosen but a safe and fun option is always available (Hanalei Bay). If you are fortunate enough to be in Kauai maximize and "turbo-charge" your stay with a choice of Hale Nalu as your base camp! Aloha!

My family of 5 have visited Kauai many times and love the Princeville area. We know the area well enough to be selective in the properties we choose to stay and the types of homes we enjoy. This house was absolutely perfect for our family. The amenities were everything as advertised. The house was a comfortable and relaxing place that we could call home for a week. There were no issues to report or problems to fix throughout our entire time. We enjoyed the bikes, boards, and beach chairs too. The house is lovely and we would not think twice about staying there again. This home is fairly close to the Princeville shopping center. We were originally concerned that it might be "too close" and we would hear a lot of vehicle noise. I particularly was concerned as I am a very light sleeper. I can honestly report that I heard no street noise and slept like a baby. I actually enjoyed being able to walk to shopping to pick up groceries for dinner each day; or an ice cream in the evening. Bottom line: When we return to Princeville, we will rent this property again.

My wife and I have stayed in this house several times and we've really loved our time there. I love the floor plan, and the spacious living room, dining room, and kitchen. The house is very clean and tidy, and the people who manage the home are great folks!!! You won't regret your stay!!!
