  My family spent 20 nights at this spacious and fully maintained property during Christmas and New Years this past holiday. We have traveled to Kauai's north shore many times in the past 30 years and our love affair with the north shore has never waned. We always rent a house or condo because of the extended length of our stays and it also gives us, at least in perception, a feeling of being a bit "local" instead of totally tourista's. Hale Nalu was a great choice and find for the lifestyle and activities we pursue in Kauai. The listing description is very accurate but the photos, simply because of their physical limitations, under-show the design, functionality and space this beautiful residence exhibits. The grounds are beautiful, private and routinely maintained. The back yard and full lanai decks extended the size and function of the residence itself. The furnishings, bedding, entertainment accessories (HDTV's, Bose radio/CD players) and especially the uber supplied kitchen all exceeded expectations. The entire transaction was relatively flawless and meeting Scott on our arrival, to answer any questions and show us the in's and out's of the property was greatly appreciated. We never had to contact Scott during our stay because we encountered no problems, but felt confident that with one call any questions or concerns would be immediately addressed and resolved. The north shore activites, entertainment and dining options are too numerous to mention here (Trip Advisor Reviews are a great resource) but a quick reference guide for eating is the Princeville Center for the Lotus Garden Chinese and Thai and Federico's Fresh Mex for a great and varied option.....just across the street. Also the Dolphin Fish Market in Hanalei for the freshest caught Hawaiian fish and specialty sushi rolls. Put the flawless weber grill to work and take advantage of the multible farmers markets and fish markets available. In the 20 days we were there we were in the water every day. Hawaii is so beautiful but it really is about the water. During winter, especially, care needs to be taken relative to activities and beaches chosen but a safe and fun option is always available (Hanalei Bay). If you are fortunate enough to be in Kauai maximize and "turbo-charge" your stay with a choice of Hale Nalu as your base camp! Aloha!

  My family of 5 have visited Kauai many times and love the Princeville area. We know the area well enough to be selective in the properties we choose to stay and the types of homes we enjoy. This house was absolutely perfect for our family. The amenities were everything as advertised. The house was a comfortable and relaxing place that we could call home for a week. There were no issues to report or problems to fix throughout our entire time. We enjoyed the bikes, boards, and beach chairs too. The house is lovely and we would not think twice about staying there again. This home is fairly close to the Princeville shopping center. We were originally concerned that it might be "too close" and we would hear a lot of vehicle noise. I particularly was concerned as I am a very light sleeper. I can honestly report that I heard no street noise and slept like a baby. I actually enjoyed being able to walk to shopping to pick up groceries for dinner each day; or an ice cream in the evening. Bottom line: When we return to Princeville, we will rent this property again.

  My wife and I have stayed in this house several times and we've really loved our time there. I love the floor plan, and the spacious living room, dining room, and kitchen. The house is very clean and tidy, and the people who manage the home are great folks!!! You won't regret your stay!!!
