Mom's Place is the ultimate retreat for families and groups of any size from 1-16 people.
With a mile of private river frontage it is a paradise for fly fishing, wildlife viewing, and bird watching while the privacy and seclusion of the property allow you to relax, unwind, catch up on your reading, or even take a dip in the river on a hot day.
The Main House is perfect for a romantic couple's get-away or for the hosts of a larger party. The sunny 1450 square ft. home includes master bedroom and bath suite, an open living room, kitchen, and dining area complete with a beautiful stone fireplace and comfortable leather furniture, gourmet kitchen fully equipped, and dining table with seats for 16. A wonderful enclosed sun porch, large pantry and laundry area, kitchen breakfast nook, extra ¼ bathroom, and 2 car garage provide plenty of space to spread out into.
For parties of three or more guests the adjoining 950 sq ft. Bunkhouse is automatically added to your reservation.
The Bunkhouse provides another three spacious bedrooms, a full bath and dressing area, a den, and a rec-room with a ping-pong table and another washer/dryer. Two bedrooms have queen size beds while the third bedroom has four sets of bunk beds. Add on the sleeper sofa in the den and the bunk house can sleep 14 people comfortably. The Bunkhouse and the Main House are attached via covered deck.
Both the Main House and the Bunkhouse are newly constructed using the finest materials and craftsmanship. High ceilings, wood floors, large windows, granite counters, slate tile, and handmade log furnishings lend warmth and beauty. Central heating and a large stone fireplace keep the place cozy in all seasons. Enjoy unobstructed views of the river, meadow, and mountain from every window in the house.
Mom’s Place is only 5 miles from Painted Rocks Lake and other numerous nearby outdoor activity locations including hiking, mountain biking, cross country skiing, fishing, floating, boating. It is 35 miles from Lost Trail Ski Area and even closer to hot springs soaking/swimming. Less than 20 miles to the quaint, historic town of Darby famous for its antique stores, restaurants, and summer festivals including Darby Logger Days in July. The scenic drive up the Bitterroot Valley from Missoula is one of the most beautiful stretches in the state.

Every year my husband and I take turns surprising each other with a "secret" trip. This year it was my turn to surprise him, and choosing Mom's Place was a home run! The house is absolutely a dream. It even surpasses the photos on the site. Everything is immacuately clean. Every amenity is top tier. There is a huge "great room" with a large stone fireplace, long dining table and first-class kitchen. The grounds are completely private, off the road, with beautiful river frontage. We are already planning another trip to Mom's Place, when we'll rent the bunkhouse and invite our extended family. (p.s. The autumn hikes in the mountains were amazing!)Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Just got back from spending a week at Mom's Place and it was fantastic! The house was spotless when we arrived Saturday morning(Amy let us check in early since we'd been driving all night). It's a huge home, much larger then we needed, but it still seemed cozy. The river is right out the back door and we had a great deal of success fishing there. There were forest fires in the area while we were there, but no worries, Amy was very helpful in suggesting activities in nearby areas. A lot of great memories from this trip: late night ping pong, happy hour at river's edge, getting a call from the bank because I was spending too much money at the Bitterroot Fly Company and finally reading "A walk in the Woods' (which I found at the house). I would recommend this property to anyone! Thanks again for the memories!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

About the owner: My name is Amy Sage. I have been a vacation rental home owner and property manager in the Bitterroot Valley since 1996. As a stay at home mother of three children ages 7-15, I appreciate the opportunity to work with property owners to provide visitors with the best lodging the Bitterroot has to offer and yet still be home for my family. I love my job! Mom's Place is my newest vacation rental property, and already a favorite.
