We rented this home for a family gathering. It was exceptionally clean and roomy. Six adults had no trouble getting ready or finding quiet space if needed. Loved the attached and enclosed porch. Even in March we were able to eat our dinners there! Beautiful view of the lake and we were able to use the outdoor firepit each night! What a treat. Owner very responsive when we discovered the coffee pot was broken, we had a new one the very next morning. Thanks for a great time. Our family will definitely consider renting this home again.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

The house was wonderful, clean, welcoming. The gas fireplace was just the ticket for a rainy, blustery fall weekend. Loved taking the trail down to the private beach - watched storms pass over the lake. Sighted a pair of bald eagles, must have been nesting nearby. Loved the convenience to the wineries on the Great Lakes wine trail. The Maza Winery was in walking distance, great tastings and wine values. Nearby resturants in North East served good food at good prices. We were glad we checked the travelers guest book, steered us in the right direction. Originally we were looking for a B&B in the area, but having the house allowed us more time to visit, since that was the point of the trip for my sister, brother, and me (and spouses!) Plus, the 2 night rate was a better price than renting 3 rooms someplace else. We LOVED our stay, and plan to come back to the same property next fall.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Julie, Thank you for sharing your wonderful experiences at our lake house and in our local wineries and restaurants. Gathering around the fireplace makes everything cozy and relaxing indeed as our seasons shift. Our lake house, North East, Lake Erie and our local establishments offer something for everyone in all seasons of the year. Your suggestions about local attractions and feedback are always helpful for other guests and to us, as we continually strive to provide a quality stay and satisfactisfied guests in our home. Weekend get aways are a quick and economical way for family or friends to gather together for fun, relaxation and to recharge everyones batteries. We look forward to your return visit in the near future.

We very much enjoyed our family reunion stay @ your Lake House over the Columbus Day weekend. Although the weather wasn't cooperative, we still had a wonderful experience! The lake view from the family room was fantastic. The house was very nicely appointed & the beds provided great sleeping. And although the weather was blustering, we did get to experience a bonfire on the beach our final evening. The mountain pies, hot dogs & smore's brought back childhood memories. YUM! As far as the wineries, thank goodness that it never rains inside the wineries! We very much enjoyed the wine cave @ South Shores. And the selection of fruit wines @ Butler's Orchard/Winery were tasty too. The café @ Presque Isle Winery was quaint too. We greatly enjoyed our visit & look forward to returning again in the future. Thank you for sharing your family home with our family!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had an amazing week at this house. Our kids ( 12, 4, & 2 ) had a blast be it playing on the beach or kicking a ball around the back yard. The location is perfect and the views are breathtaking. Even sitting in the living room just looking out the large picture window at Lake Erie was relaxing. We started each morning with a trip to the beach to collect beach glass and then spent most of the day down there. At night we would have dinner and play in the yard eagerly awaiting the sunset. The views of the sunset are absolutely amazing from the back yard here. If you are looking for a house on Lake Erie, I can't recommend this one enough!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: We are glad you could take time out from your busy lives to relax at our lake house to enjoy the beach, sunsets and family time together. We look forward to seeing you again on your next get away in North East on Lake Erie!

We had a great visit at the beautiful house in North East. We loved the private, easy walk to the lake. The sunsets were gorgeous and different each day. The huge yard was wonderful, plenty of space to run and play for the kids. It was hot, but not unbearable with the room air conditioners. I would recommend shades for the bedrooms and a game table of some sort inside. The picnic table on the patio is a good size, but not always feasible due to weather. The location was easy to find and I felt that anything I needed was not too far away. I would like to be able to recycle if possible. Overall a wonderful experience. I would definitely recommend the house and hope to get a chance to stay there again someday.Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay along the shores of Lake Erie in our home with your family. Thank you for your feedback and suggestions. We have converted the sun room into a dining sun room with the addition of two dining room tables that can seat up to 10 or be used invidually for smaller groups. Now you can dine, relax and play games or cards with a panoramic view of Lake Erie. This is a beautiful spot to watch our world class sunsets and the ever changing natural beauty of Lake Erie. Check out our updated pictures to see the great new upgrades. It was a pleasure having your family and congrats on your new addition! We look forward to seeing you again in the future on your next get away in North East, PA.

This is a gorgeous property, fantastic house and area. You can't ask for more atmosphere. Megan was a gracious host. Take advantage of the wineries in the area and the local restauraunts. Have kids? Collect large flat rocks for painting from the beach- which is a very easy walk down the path in the front yard. Have elderly parents? Pick a spot under the shady tree, hand them a good book, and let them while away the time watching the boats on Lake Erie. We were pleasantly surprised by the nesting of a bald eagle on the adjacent property. What a sight! Be sure to bring swim shoes if you plan to use the beach...very rocky...but the rocks are smooth. Bring a jar for beach glass too...we found a ton. Aside from a few issues with the cooling of the house, (which the owner handled very well) we had a wonderful long weekend and will stay again.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

WOW! This was truly a wonderful vacation home for our family of six adults and six children. The home was clean, organized and well-equipped. It was truly a home away from home with all the amenities. It had ample sleeping room for all of us--the three nicely furnished bedrooms and full bath upstairs and a futon, several roll-away cots and another bath downstairs equipped with a washer and dryer. The huge yard provided ample space for soccer, football, tag, other outdoor activities and the setting up of tents for the grandchildren to enjoy. During the evenings we were able to watch the beautiful sunsets, take walks on the beach, listen to the exciting nighttime sounds of Lake Erie and have bonfires where we all enjoyed roasting marshmallows and making smores. The easy access to the beach provided fun times for all looking for beach glass and taking leisurely walks. The surrounding grape fields added to the beauty of this lovely piece of property. It provided us with a quiet and peaceful setting and a perfect place for our relatives who live in the Lake Erie area to join us for much anticipated family gatherings. Our communication with both Megan, the owner, and Lynn, the booking agent, was outstanding. They were both great to work with and returned our calls and e-mails very quickly. We were in constant contact with Megan during our stay. She certainly made us feel welcome. We don't get to Erie very often, but when we do we will certainly make this beautiful vacation home a destination.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We rented the house to spend a week together as a family. It was fantastic! We were right there by the beach and we spent lots of time collecting unique rocks and making smores by the fire. We were also close to many things. We were able to do small trips to Freeport Beach, Presque Isle, and Waldameer Amusement Park. We even spent a day on a fishing trip and were able to have a fish fry. The owner was so kind to us and even let us borrow a fryer! We would recommend this to anyone looking for a getaway with lots to do nearby.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Overall the house and property are nice. It has a nice big yard right on the lake. The three bedrooms are spacious as is the living room. Our 15 family members (the house was rated for a maximum of 15 guests before our visit) enjoyed fires in the backyard pit. By the way make it easier on yourself and bring your own firewood. Several things made the vacation less than desirable that we would not stay here again with a large party. First and not related to the size is the fact the outside garbage was not emptied. There were three large garbage cans heaping full of unbagged garbage. The neighbor (not the owner) reminded us the pickup was the next day. It took two of us to drag the cans to the road. The fridge was stocked for us with previous guest's salad dressings and other bottled goodies that were in there a while. Who uses food leftover from previous tenants? We took the time and through all of the goodies away and left a clean, empty fridge for the next guest! The upstairs bathroom is small. Downstair's BR is right off the kitchen and is combination BR, utility room and main entry to driveway. When using the down BR make sure both doors are locked. Other guests need to go around and use the second outside door if you have to get to your car. Sounds simple but it was a pain for both the person trying to get to the car and the person using the BR. The kitchen table is small and the table only seats four! No dining room. This was our biggest diappointment. Our family enjoys conversations around the breakfasts and dinner. Not this year! Finally, a covered porch or patio would be nice (we knew this ahead of time). It rained a few times we were there and it would have been nice to be able to sit ouside instead of inside the unairconditioned house.Owner response: We appreciate all guest feedback and have certainly learned and improved much in this our first summer of renting as we were challenged by a record-breaking heatwave. We have made the following improvements: air conditioning added, lowered the max occupancy to 10, converted sunroom to dining room with large table to accomodate 10. Now as our guests dine together, they can enjoy beautiful lake views and sunsets. We also want to point out our guests are welcome to use either of the two front doors which alleviates the first floor bathroom issue.

First thing I want to say is that Lynne and Megan are super super nice and have been so helpful for me and my wife to make our first time renting a vacation home for our honeymoon a great experience!!! Also thank you for the bottle of wine left in the fridge that was very thoughtful. The views from the living room were absolutely beautiful!!! We loved the house and felt right home and almost didn't want to leave. During the day we enjoyed romantic walks on the beach and looking for beach glass. Would love to come back again some day soon.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

About the owner: Hello and welcome to Lake Erie in North East, PA. My name is Megan, and thank you for taking the time to read my bio. Several generations of my family have lived along the shores of Lake Erie spanning several decades. Lake Erie is a wonderful hidden treasure as is North East and the surrounding areas. My goal is to provide a quality lake house and vacation experience for your vacation with easy beach access. Customer satisfaction and service are paramount focus. This is a prime beach location with a private beach and room to relax.
Why the Owner Chose Erie:
There's something special about growing up near Lake Erie. Life revolves around the water. In summer, we live at the beach. As a teen, I was a lifeguard at Freeport. The fishing and our sunsets are world class. In fall, the water temperatures moderate the climate, producing perfect conditions for grape growing and our local wine industry. In winter, we snowmobile, ski, ice-fish, ice-skate and dream about summer days again. I bought this property because of its beauty and its size -- it's rare to find a one acre lakefront property with easy beach access. Need any recommendations? Ask me. I grew up here and have can tell you about the locals' best kept secrets.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
This home backs up to Lake Erie and has it's own stretch of beach. The acre-sized yard is huge by lake home standards. I can walk to the North East Marina along the beach or walk to the Mazza Winery. Lake Erie sunsets are beautiful and relaxing to watch from our own backyard. I also enjoy stargazing and seeing the Canadian lights across the lake at night. From here, you are a short 26 miles from Canada. Care to swim the distance? I can tell you about our first local swimmer who has-- Ms. Halli Reid. She just so happens to have a park dedicated in her honor at Freeport Beach. Check it out when you are here.
