The Retreat at Massanutten is a newly upgraded seven bedroom, three bath home, with over 3,300 square feet of living space. With two separate great rooms and tastefully decorated with leather furniture, The Retreat provides more than ample room for the family to gather. The upstairs great room flows with an open kitchen and large 10-person kitchen table with separate bar for indoor family seating. The second great room downstairs has a full-size stand-up Nintendo video arcade game console (with 11 different games available to play), foosball, board games, large television, and couch and loveseat. There is also plenty of parking with a two-car garage and additional room for up to six cars in the driveway.
Located within the Massanutten Four Seasons Resort, and with great views of the ski mountain from the front deck, The Retreat is a rewarding base for those who come to enjoy the many pleasures of Virginia's Valley of the Shenandoah. The Retreat backs to the National Forest, with hiking paths and hunting within easy walking distance, and great views of the Massanutten Mountain and the Shenandoah Valley. The rolling hills of the Shenandoah Valley are rich in Virginia history and easily accessible by Interstate I-81 or I-64. Guests may ski, fish, canoe, tube, bike, hike, hunt, or just relax and unwind to the soothing murmur of the Shenandoah River and cool mountain breezes. Other popular pastimes within easy driving distance include Civil War battlefields and museums, national parks, caverns, wineries, golf, tennis, horse back riding, and the many specialty and antique shops.
The seven bedrooms and three bathrooms are configured as follows: Master bedroom: Upstairs with king bed, attached master bathroom (sleeps two); Bedroom two: Upstairs with queen bed (sleeps two); Bedroom three: Upstairs with two twin bunk beds and two pull-out beds (sleeps four); Bedroom four: upstairs with twin bed (sleeps one); Bedroom five: Downstairs with queen bed (sleeps two); Bedroom six: Downstairs with queen bed (sleeps two); Bedroom seven: Downstairs with queen bed (sleeps two); Sofa sleeper: Upstairs in the living room is a queen sleeper (sleeps two); Sofa sleeper: Downstairs in the recreation room is a full sleeper (sleeps two). Port-a-crib available. Total sleeping capacity is 18, with additional space available.
Upstairs also includes a separate bathroom, laundry facilities, a large open kitchen and great room (perfect for family gatherings), and an enclosed sunroom with porch and gas barbeque grill. Downstairs also has a separate bathroom, family room with 36 inch color television, walk-out basement, and a two-car garage.
The Retreat, as well as Massanutten Four Seasons Resort, caters to families. There really is no better resort on the East Coast with as many activities at such a great value. In all cases, please be respectful of the full-time residents that live at Massanutten Resort. Open fires are not permitted within Masssanutten Resort.

- The Massanutten Water Park is a very impressive, 4 acre water park, with about 42,000 sq. ft. of indoor water park area in Phase One open yearround, and 88,000 sq. ft. of outdoor water park area open in the summertime. There are numerous slides inside the park, along with a lazy river and many other water activities. The outside area has a racing slide, a wave pool and several other water amenities. The complex also houses a food court, lockers and showers, a "state of the art" video arcade, and a full service restaurant. The park is the finest such facility on the East Coast, at a cost of over $30 million dollars. The Retreat is stocked with a full line of brochures providing information on numerous additional area activities, including snow tubing and canoeing

Why the Owner Chose Massanutten Resort
While on a weekend ski trip over President’s Day 2004, we fell in love with Massanutten Resort and purchased our first second home, The Retreat at Massanutten. We have now vacationed at Massanutten for more than five years to get away from the hustle and bustle of Northern Virginia and Washington, DC, for winter skiing and summer outdoor fun. No other resort near Washington, DC offers as wide a variety of activities as Massanutten, and at such a great value for the family to get away together. Since 2004, we have added three additional Massanutten homes to our inventory and rented to more than 330 different families. We hope you will enjoy The Retreat at Massanutten as much as our other guests have.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The Retreat at Massanutten is normally our primary second home when we stay at Massanutten Resort, although we stay at all of our properties at the resort to ensure the quality remains high. The Retreat is the perfect home to accommodate family gatherings, both large and small. While the four homes we own are all tastefully decorated, The Retreat is exceptionally well appointed and kept up. Over the last five years we have carefully stocked The Retreat with activities, such as foosball, movies, arcade games, kids toys, books and an electronic dart board. The Retreat is also uniquely situated at the top of the mountain, right in the middle of all of the activities. It backs up to the George Washington National Forest and is perfect for enjoying your getaway vacation.
