  A perfect home away from home!! This Peters Cave Retreat was a great place for 3 families to relax and enjoy each others' company. Lakefront access & a dock let us swim & fish whenever we wanted. Additionally, we could get on and off our pontoon rental as we wanted. The washer & dryer were very handy to wash bathing suits, towels, and kids clothes. Kids young & old enjoyed s'mores and catching up by the fire pit. We're already planning a return visit!!!

  From the time we pulled up to the house, we were in awe of the beauty outside...and then we walked inside, we were BLOWN AWAY! We actually just stayed here this weekend. It rained half the time both days. We didn't even care. With so much room inside the home and on the deck, we had plenty to do. We did bring a boat, perfect private boat dock, launched right across the lake (very convenient). This end of lake is not busy, which we loved! We played games (the owners have so many to choose from). We rented a karaoke machine from doo wop shop in Louisville, the living room was the perfect set up for that. I can't imagine finding a better place to stay than here, we will return to this adorably decorated lake house. You will not be disappointed, book it today!!!

  Absolutely loved this property!!! We drove from Florida for the Kentucky derby and a weekend girls trip. There was 8 girls and we had plenty of room for everyone AND enough bathroom space and mirrors. lol Everything was stocked and extremely accommodating. The view was stunning and the balcony was great for breakfast. The beds were so comfy!!! Wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you for such a wonderful experience we will never forget!

  We stayed in this beautiful lake house for a quick spring break get-a-way. When we opened the front door, we were amazed!!! It is beautiful! The pictures do not do it justice. It was clean, well maintained and beautifully decorated. The views are amazing. The owners of this beautiful lake house have thought of everything. It is well appointed with everything from the kitchen to games for the kids. Our 2 year old son loved the little rocking chair that was just his size. :) There is even a high chair for your use! There was plenty of fire wood for camp fires at night in the fire pit. Nothing has been forgotten in this lake house. The fishing was good. The kids were able to catch bluegill almost as fast as you could bait the hook. The dock was great to fish off of. You could also fish from the bank as well. You do have direct access to the lake but there are some steps to contend with. The trip down is not that bad, it is the climb back up that will get you. But there are several landings if you need to stop to rest. We had a wonderful time. The owners were so easy to work with and just down right nice. We heard nothing but good things about them when we visited the local marina. We will definitely make a return trip. :)

  We had a wonderful time at your place and were impressed with the home, the pictures do not do it justice! You thought of everything (even a sleep machine that helped the baby to fall asleep) and after renting many places over the years, this was the first place that we rented where we didn't need to go buy extra supplies. The location was a great halfway point for our families since we traveled from Indiana and Alabama. We enjoyed our time in the snow and would love to return for a warm, summer trip! Thanks for everything!

  We had a wonderful time at your place last month. The house seemed to fit our 15 person family very well. The great room with the vaulted ceiling and large windows was nice for conversations. The layout also worked well for the children to play upstairs. Plenty of bathrooms scattered around the house. The deck and the view were spectacular. (especially since it was 70 degrees on Thanksgiving) The fence was nice for the small children to play in the yard. Very clean and new...we agreed the pictures couldn't capture how nice your place is. You thought of everything from the cornhole game to the wood for the firepit. Thanks for helping us have a great family time!

  Last minute mini vacation for three families with teenagers. All were pleased with the experience and would strongly recommend this house. The place was very clean, well supplied with necessities, and had a nice view of the river. Even the teenagers were happy (especially with the fire pit). Their only complaint was no Wi-Fi (but they survived). Adults enjoyed the supplied corn hole game. Would certainly stay at this house again.

  House was a great layout and in very good condition. Has a great view of the lake. The overall all location was excellent and I would recommend it to other families. This house is about 7 miles from Leitchfield. Our family really enjoyed our time and we are looking forward to doing this again. Rough River is a great lake for water sports. This was our second visit to the lake.

  We truly enjoyed our family vacation at the Peter Cave Retreat and exceeded our expections. We hope to return as soon as possible. Property is clean with lots of room. Lakefront location with a great view allows you to kick back and relax. Rent a pontoon at M&D marina across the lake and enjoy the boatride, tubing, swimming and fishing. We cooked huge meals and grilled out several nights. We golfed at Falls of Rough course, par 3 and the putt-putt course at the state park. We played lots of games and cornhole. We stayed 9 nights and wished we could have had 9 more.
