We so enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Wonderful ambience...felt at home... even a little groceries and drinks in the fridge. Our stay in Homer was enhanced by our two days close to downtown Homer...yet in a quiet little neighborhood. We could not have found a nicer accomodation clean with lots of amenities. Thank you! PS loved the art work and enjoyed the farmers market concert and food!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

My family stayed at this cottage over the weekend, and we wish our stay was longer! It is a lovely place, and the owners were very helpful and prompt in communication. We would absolutely stay here again! We loved being so close to all the shops, and the kids LOVED the new playground that is in walking distance. I think beach combing was the favorite activity for us. Great view as well. The cottage is very clean and comfortable, thank you for sharing! We had a nice relaxing time.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you for the review. I am so glad your family had such a great time down here. I spent many hours helping build the playground this Spring, as did hundreds of other volunteers. We are pretty proud of this new playground! Glad your family enjoyed it so much. Hope we will see you again.

What a treat! This is such a lovely little cottage, comfortable, quiet, convenient to all the amenities Homer has to offer but still so peaceful. Another plus is the internet access and yes, I confess, television for those down times. The bed was super comfie, too. And I had the great pleasure of Mama Moose and her newborn twins in the yard ALL day. Ohmyohmy. I'll be back, rest assured.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

About the owner: Life long Alaskan- family has lived in Homer and owned independent bookstore here since 1978. I play in an African Marimba Band (Shamwari) and also play French Horn in the Kenai Peninsula Orchestra. My husband and I own 2 large dogs and love x-c skiing and hiking with them whenever possible. We have kayaked and explored our local bay and beaches nearby. I can be found most days 2 blocks away at the Homer Bookstore.
Why the Owner Chose Homer:
We wanted a home my dad and stepmom could come visit and be close to us, plus our home is at a higher elevation and there are days in the winter we wanted to be able to stay closer to town in case of bad winter storms.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We love the brightness of this home and the fact that it is so close to most of the shopping and restaurants and movie theatre in town.
