Beautiful, one year old lake home on a private, sandy beach...it doesn't get much better than this in lake country! Gorgeous sunsets, water fun and spacious lawn will make your vacation experience everything that you could imagine!
Last year we purchased this property and completely renovated it to make a 'new home' that would be a fun and relaxing place for families. We want our guests to feel a true 'beach house' atmosphere, so our decor emphasizes this atmosphere in an upscale way! This home is also winterized, so it provides a cozy location for fall or winter getaways such as snowmobiling, ice fishing, scrap booking or celebrating a holiday.
Our property has 150 feet of lakeshore, with a gradual entry which makes it perfect for swimmers of all ages. The shoreline is a continuous flat, sandy beach where children can play and build sandcastles, while adults relax nearby in the water or on the patio deck. The yard has plenty of space for yard games, bonfires, and outdoor fun.
As you enter our newly renovated and totally updated lake home, you will quickly notice the beach/cottage theme that is transferred throughout the entire house. Everything is brand new! The entryway is welcoming and has ample room to store your belongings. As you enter the Great Room, with its vaulted ceiling, you will be impressed with the space to gather together as family or friends. The kitchen is attached to this area and the new white cabinets, center island, and stainless steel appliances make it an efficient and friendly space for eating and visiting. Three of the four bedrooms have queen size beds and the fourth bedroom has a set of bunk beds, along with a roll-away bed. Both bathrooms are easily accessible and have showers and/or tubs for your convenience. As you leave the Great Room/Kitchen area to go out to the lake, you will quickly notice one of the best features of our home.....no steps or hills to navigate! Just go down a few steps from the deck and you are on our paver patio with the sidewalk that stretches 50 feet to the sandy beach! Relax on the patio or by the paver- fire-pit as you enjoy the beautiful sunsets of Maple Lake! Minnesota evenings don't get much better than this!
Maple lake is a clear, spring fed lake that is one of the most desirable lakes in the area for swimming and fishing. It is rated as one of the top 12 lakes in Minnesota for walleye fishing, although you can also catch bass, northern pike, crappies and sunfish in abundance. Yes, fish can be caught right off the end of our dock!!!
Experience the Alexandria area by shopping at the quaint downtown stores, visiting the mall, exploring the many wonderful golf courses or indulging at the numerous restaurants. In addition, children of all ages will enjoy Casey's Amusement Park or the Arrowwood water park. One could enjoy sporting events such as watching Beetles Baseball games or Nascar races at the Vikingland Speedway, or shooting trap at the nearby Trap Shooting range. The Carlos Creek Winery is another area favorite.
In addition to the summer fun, we also offer weekend, or weeklong packages for fishing, snowmobiling, scrap-booking, or family holiday gatherings throughout the remainder of the year. We have a hard-side fishhouse placed on the lake, ready for occupancy. We will have the holes open and the house ready for those who are looking for a winter fishing experience. Snowmobilers... there is a trail that runs very close to our cabin. You will enjoy miles of riding in the Alexandria area.
Those interested in scrapbooking will appreciate the tools we have available for your use in addition to the peaceful and relaxing setting.
There is certainly something for everyone's entertainment pleasure!

My family was there for a short visit in late August and we had a fabulous time on Maple Lake!! The owners go out of their way to make sure your visit is everything you want and more!! It was just my husband and I and our 3 children and it was our first trip to the Alexandria area. The cabin is phenomenal!! And the grounds and lake were just what we were looking for!! No detail is overlooked here!!! Cannot wait to go back!! We and our kids fell in love with this place!!Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

The lake home was beautiful! So very clean and welcoming. The lake was small, quiet and very beautiful. Loved the outdoor patio. Decorated very well with bright colors and comfortable furniture. Not the brown grungy look that you see in most homes. Thank goodness. The owners were very professional and organized. We had a fantastic week at this lake property. Our boys enjoyed catching fish off of the dock and playing with the kayaks and paddle boats. We enjoyed the clean and roomy cabin. The cabin was stocked with everything that we could possibly need-even several flat screen televisions in various rooms. We would strongly recommend this property to our friends and family.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

Amazing! We stayed this past week with my husband and daughter (4) along with my 2 sisters and their husbands and kiddos (2 months, 2, 2 and 5 years old) and our mother. It was PERFECT! We enjoyed the patio, swimming in the crystal clear lake, kayaking (with rental), paddle boating (with rental), fishing off the dock, lounging on the comfortable furniture inside, making smores by the fire pit, walks with views of the lake, and making family meals in the fabulous kitchen! There was nothing more we could have asked for on our stay! We had the chance to meet the owners, and they are beyond friendly and accomodating! They felt like old friends and at this rate, will be because we loved it so much, we booked our week next year before we left! We can't wait to come back and enjoy "our house" on the lake for a week! Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay. Your "Get Away" was perfect for us. We enjoyed our time so very much that we are already booked again for next year. It was the perfect set up for our family group. The house was gorgeous, the owners were fantastic and we enjoyed our time getting to know them while we were there. I would recommend this property highly especially to families with small kids. The kids could run around the house, go outside, play on the shore or in the water, and play in the large yard. It was perfect for all of the adults as well. We kayaked, road the paddle boat and went golfing. It was wonderful to meet you, you are such great people and it shows in your home. We just finished a week together as a family (ranging from 2 months old to +60) at this brand new cabin and we ALL had a blast! Before the week was over we had already rebooked for 2013! The house is better than the photos (which is hard to believe would be possible) and the beach is amazing! We were able to spend time together as a large family and make time for seperate time as our individual families. We kayaked, swam, fished (yes off the dock!), paddle boated, jet skiied (we brought these toys) and looked for shells on a daily basis. The kids loved the expansive yard space (whiffle ball games, riding small trikes, blowing bubbles and playing kickball) the grownups enjoyed sunsets from the patio, the beach and dock, playing bags and just having a few adult beverages outside in the gorgeous weather (the bugs weren't even bad at night- how did they control that?) We toured the winery, shopped Alex, went golfing, got to experience the fair, went to 2 hotspots for dinner and even got to know Mitch and Julie one night over HHour. Judy has been crazy good about keeping in touch with our insanely inquisitive household, and they make their cabin- YOUR home for the week. You cannot go wrong booking this cabin! My 5 year old son said today as we left- when are we going back? Hurry up- there is not much left for next summer!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Wow! What can I say? We were lucky enough to stay at a gorgeous cabin on the lake that surpassed all of my expectations. Beautiful sunsets, a sandy beach, a clear lake, and unique decor... This place has it all! We enjoyed days on the lake, grilling, supper at the nearby restaurants, bonfires, and mornings being lazy and watching a movie. I can't thank the owners enough for the opportunity to stay here. We joined our friends at this lake home this past weekend and had a fabulous time in the Alexandria area. My girlfriend got to lay in the sun while I fished off the dock and caught walleyes! We had a great time sitting around the fire pit during the evening. The house is brand new and the owners were so accommodating to all of our needs. They left us a book with great suggestions on where to eat and do other things in the Alexandria area. The pictures on the website do not do justice to the house and yard. We will definitely be booking a week next summer!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

About the owner: We call ourselves the 'Getaway Group'....we are two couples that saw the opportunity to own a lake home together as one more great adventure for the four of us to do together. The 'men' in our group are both self employed, so have flexibility in their schedules to accommodate the needs of our guests. The 'women' are both educators, and work together in the Alexandria school system. They also travel together and host women's trips called 'All About Me Getaways'. The four of us have deep roots in the Alexandria area, and have always loved Maple Lake. We look forward to serving you in our new lake home.

Maple Lake is known as one of the cleanest lakes in the Alexandria area. Lee and Judy were born and raised in the Alexandria area, and Mitch and Julie have spent summers on Maple Lake with Julie's family for 35 years. We love the peaceful, low traffic, relaxing environment this home provides. When looking for 'just the right place' to purchase, our criteria was simple... would we want to vacation here ouselves?... our answer was ABSOLUTELY! :-) We hope you will love it as much as we do.

Alexandria has a lovely downtown area, particularly for women who have a fondness for boutiques, antique stores, and quaint little shops.
