  Our recent stay couldn't have been any better. The property was exceptionally clean & well taken care of. We had all the ammenities needed to accommodoate our stay for more than two weeks. The property is set up to comfortably accommodate three (3) couples with plenty of privacy amongst the three units. There is even more room in the kitchen area to accommodate even more people, if needed. The views were amazing and the pool was very clean. Even if it rained heavily, only the courtyard would get yet (not you). Circulation between the kitchen and upsatirs units was not at all affected by the rain. The place was so peaceful & quiet that we generally slept with the doors open. If only we had more time to stay and this place was available to us would we have rented even longer. Based upon everything else seen & viewed for the area, this place by far was an an exceptional value. Don't wait on this one. It was an exceptional experience for me and the other guests.

  My wife and I with a few of my haumana (students of hula) stayed at this home during a very busy time of year. We flew into Hawai'i Island to enjoy the spirit of Hula and the 50th Anniversary of Merrie Monarch which is the most popular hula competition in the world. So there was about 9 of us that stayed at this beautiful hale (home). Overall the hale was beautiful and a great retreat coming to after a long and busy day. (oh and we were part of the big parade that happens after the Merrie Monarch). There were a few things that did fall to the way side. First of all most of our towels smelled really bad that we had to wash them. Secondly, the dryer wasn't drying our towels well. Later we found out that the gas (propane) was empty which seems no one refilled before we got there considering we hardly was at the hale. So because of that the last day when trying to pack we didn't have hot water to shower. We did call the son I believe who was overseeing this was called the night before and he said he wasn't able to get anyone to the house til after 12pm to change out the propane. This really put us under much stress considering we had 2 cars and had to get 9 people to the airport for check in to get back to California. Also when first arriving to the hale (house) the kitchen area had many dead bugs that one of my students was cleaning out the rooms of bugs. Also the showers were strange in the sense that water splashed outside of the shower so we didn't feel it was properly finished to prevent water from splashing out. So that caused us to have to keep wiping up the spills. I know it seems all like a bad review but all in all it was a good home to vacation. Just that whomever is in charge needs to make sure everything is up to par for their new incoming guest and make sure that everything gets checked the day before so that those renting may have a great experience.

  This place is perfect for people who want peace and quiet and not the hustle and bustle of resorts. Shopping is mere minutes away in Hilo and has everything you need to stalk your fridge or your suitcase with good shopping. The backyard is a constant ocean playground where you can see whales every day just sitting eating your breakfast outside on a fabulous patio. Your very own private pool and outdoor shower. 3 spacious bedrooms all with ensuite bath/kitchenettes and the most comfortable king size beds I have ever slept on. The kitchen is where you gather and have fun sitting around eating meals as the frog sing in the night. Spectacular place, with spacious, clean and comfortable living. I recommend this place as a 5 star holiday private resort. Renting a car from the airport to drive on your own schedule and time was perfect for us, group tours was not for us, this way you can drive anywhere on the island and see all the sights that you are interested in. You do not have access to a beach but only a few minutes away from Richardson Beach Park where snorkelling and turtles are abundance.

  Papa'Aloa Hale is wonderful. Beautiful views with quite tropical surroundings led to a very relaxing vacation for me and my wife to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. Papa'Aloa Hale is within an hour of Volcano National Park, Hilo, Numerous water falls, Hilo farmer's market. We were able to take in multiple attractions during the day due to location alone and be home to see the stars at night.

  We had a wonderful stay at Hale Papa' aloa. This trip was our honeymoon, and I did a lot of research to find the perfect location. When I saw the listing for this house on-line I knew it was the one. The images and description of Hale Papa' aloa are 100% accurate. The house was beautifully decorated and very clean and perfectly maintained. Upon arrival we couldn't believe our eyes when we opened the gate and entered the home. There was something special to see around every corner.

  LOVED the house! What a view! Sleeping with the doors open is so peaceful and relaxing. Didn't need A/C, just as Mark told me. We ziplined, ATV'd the north tip of the island and did the Volcanoes National Park. We found Waipio Valley unreal and beautiful! You have a black sand beach on one side and a waterfall on the other. Fantastic! We could have spent the whole day there. Both Cafe Pesto and Coconut Grill

Starting at $300 per night up to $400 per night. 
There are three private suites at the house.  
The nightly rates start at $300 for use of one suite, $350 for two suites, 
and $400 for three. Suites you don't pay for will be vatcant during your stay.
These rates don't include the 9.125% percent Transient Accommodation Tax and
4.166% percent General Excise Tax
The Out Cleaning Fee  will be between $200-$300 dollars
We charge $150 more per night for the dates between Dec 21, 2013 and Jan 4, 2014.
