Welcome to Villa Seaglass a brand new luxury villa located in exclusive Sugar Ridge on a beautiful hill-side overlooking Jolly Harbour and the crystal waters of the Caribbean Sea. We fell in love with the view and knew it was the perfect spot to build a dream vacation home. Not only does the Villa’s position facing West on a hill provides spectacular 180 degree Views (Sunsets included!), but is also provides the house with wonderful cooling trade winds. Take in the vista and enjoy the Caribbean air while you lounge on one of the 8 comfortable sun beds or splash in the generous plunge pool. You may never want to leave the villa, but if you want to explore Jolly Beach, Valley Church Beach, Coco Bay and Dark wood Beaches are only a 5-8 minute drive away. The Villa boasts 2,700 square feet of indoor living space and 2,200 square feet of terraced outdoor living space. There are lovely en-suite bathrooms in each of the four thoughtfully appointed bedrooms (sleeps 8) and the open-plan living area features three huge sliding glass doors that retract fully into the walls allowing for true indoor/outdoor living at its best. The wonderful Location of Villa Seaglass across the street from Jolly Harbour offers many restaurants, grocery shopping, pharmacy, banking, ice cream/coffee shops and much more on your door step. The capital of Antigua, St. John, is only a 10 minute drive away and the airport is a 20 minute drive from the Villa. Guests at Villa Seaglass are free to use the lovely fully equipped gym at Sugar Ridge Hotel and its beautiful, large pool. Sugar Ridge Hotel also offers an Aveda concept Spa and two yummy restaurants. I could go on and on…. but as they say, a picture tells a thousand words…… we would love to welcome you to Villa Seaglass and a fantastic holiday experience!

We loved everything about our stay at Seaglass. It starts from the moment you open the front door, turn the corner, open the verandah glass sliders & truly take in the incredible view. You blink a couple of times then pinch yourself to make sure it's real. We've seen many views in our travels around the world & I tell everyone that this view is in my top three. But then you turn around & take in the view of the house itself. I wouldn't change a thing! The owner, Stephanie, & her family built this house with much attention to detail (and love). It shows everywhere, even down to framed instructions on the workings of the house. I guess the best way to describe our experience is to say we just felt "good" in the house. The stay here was made even more perfect by Nadia & Ida at Lush Locations who act as the welcoming committee in place of Stephanie herself. From the welcome basket of fruits, wine, cheeses TO the walk-thru TO the quality of the maid service throughout the week, we did not want for anything. And it was a huge bonus to us & the three other active couples to have complimentary access to the Sugar Ridge Resort pools & gym. ($-fitness classes). You can walk to it via Carmichael's restaurant. The restaurants at Sugar Ridge are very good, by the way. Access to everything else on the island is easy by car rental. You can walk to the beach, grocery shop, eat out, shop, go boating, fish, play golf all right below Seaglass in Jolly Harbour. So, stay here. It will be a true home away from home.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Christmas in Antigua 2012

Our family recently travelled to Antigua from December 20 - 27, 2012. This was the first time that we had gone away at Christmas time. The timing seemed right as our three teenage boys, ages 17, 16 and 14, are well passed the “magic of Christmas stage” and were up for a Caribbean destination. We have been lucky enough to visit a number of Caribbean destinations including: Bahamas, Barbados, St. Lucia, Turks and Caicos Islands, Curacao, etc. This was our first trip to Antigua. Our flights out of Toronto via Air Canada left early on December 20th and arrived in Antigua early afternoon. We stayed at Villa Seaglass which is an absolutely gorgeous high-end Villa perched high on a hill in the Sugar Ridge development overlooking Jolly Harbour. We highly recommend Villa Seaglass. The Villa is everything that is shown on the website and more. The owner, Stephanie, was tremendous; the Property Manager, Ida Crump from Villa Management Ltd. was wonderful; and the cleaning staff were equally amazing. The pictures on the website do not do Villa Seaglass justice. The view is absolutely mind-blowing. Villa Seaglass is located high above Jolly Harbour and Jolly Harbour can be easily accessed down the hill and right across the road. Villa Seaglass is located in the Sugar Ridge Development, which is a secure gated development on the main road down Antigua’s west coast. The area is very pretty and very safe. Staying at Villa Seaglass entitles you to use all of the amenities and facilities at the neighbouring Sugar Ridge Hotel. The hotel has a nice gymnasium/fitness centre, nice pool and two really good restaurants, Sugar Club and Carmichaels. For many people, it can be nerve-wracking to choose a vacation rental online, particularly given all the options, the concern that the rental will not be “as advertised” and dealing with a stranger who is far away. We have been extremely fortunate in arranging vacation rentals online in a number of places around the world and have always been more than satisfied. None of the normal concerns and trepidation will apply in dealing with Stephanie and in renting Villa Seaglass. In arranging any vacation rental, you have to do your homework, fully check-out and investigate the rental, have a dialogue with the owner, ask questions, satisfy yourself that the vacation rental will suit your needs, etc. We have always done this and it has worked out tremendously well for us. Again, renting Villa Seaglass will notRecommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, adventure seekers.

First of all I want to say that in all the places I've rented and people I've worked with around the world the owner of Villa Seaglass is the best! She's quick to respond, easy to work with and flexible to your needs. It was a pleasure working with her and her family! The pictures of this house are amazing but they don't do it justice. We arrived late in the evening and had to wait until the next morning to take in those stunning views, and it was worth the wait. This house is perched on top of a steep hill that gives you these incredible 360 views. The inside of the house is as spectacular as the outside. We had 4 adults and an infant and used 3 of the bedrooms, all of which were beautifully appointed. The beds are comfortable, the house is open and the kitchen is stocked with high end appliances along with every dish, cup and utensils you could ask for. The house is situated about 20-30 minutes from the airport and only 15 minutes from St. John's. There are a number of restaurants, bars and a grocery store in the Jolly Harbour complex across the street from the neighborhood. I would advise renting a car, carrying those groceries up that steep hill would be a challenge. If you want to go out and not drive, the property manager will gladly set up a taxi for you. I'm telling you, everything you you need while staying here is one phone call away. You know you're staying in the right place when the living room you're sitting in is on the cover of 'Luxury Homes' magazine. If you enjoy living the good life then you will l-o-v-e Villa Seaglass!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children.

Writing a review for such a fabulous and special place like Villa Seaglass, requires some adjectives that elude me as they could not possibly do this place justice even if I could come up with them.. From the moment you drive up to this home, you suddenly realize that you very far away from anything that resembles the usual and mundane. This home that sits atop a beuatiful hill overlooking Jolly Harbour and offers the most expansive view through massive glass doors which recede all the way into the walls, forces you to sit back immediately, mix a drink and let a view that you never thought could exist in a rental property, welcome you to paradise. In the years that my family has discovered rental properties through the internet, we've always been satisfied but still felt that the pictures are usually slightly overdone with the reality of those places. In this case, no picture of this home or it's many features could prepare anyone for what they will be in store for. The home has every ammenity one could ask for, infinity splash pool overlooking the spectacular views, gourmet kitchen fully stocked like a private home with appliances, bedrooms that the average person would be lucky to have in their own homes, 4 1/2 bathrooms for total convenience. There's even a cupola next to the pool with a dining table to enjoy your meals and drinks under the Antiguan stars. Not to mention a state of the art generator to insure the continuity of your vacation. Don't miss this one, our family will have years and years of special memories of our time spent here. We are lovers of the Caribbean and Villa Seaglass on Antigua just moved way up on our list during the past 10 days!! Some of our favorite cool things: Circumnavigation cruise of the Island and snorkel spot on the "Excellence" 82 Catamaran Driving around the Island and stopping at Devil's Bridge and Falmouth Harbor Visiting St John's Zip Lines in the Rain Forest Jet Skiing at Fryes Beach Bloody Mary's at Sheer Rocks Picking up everything we could possiby need right across the street in Jolly HarbourRecommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

I can't say enough good things about this absolutely beautiful villa at Jolly Harbour. The home is extremely clean, well-maintained, and it sits high up on a hill overlooking Jolly Harbour. The pictures of the villa are perfectly accurate and do not do it justice. There are large sliding glass doors on either side of the living area to allow a relaxing cross breeze, and the bedrooms are well air-conditioned. Enough cannot be said about the view, however! Jolly Harbour has beautifully-colored hues of blue water, and the home is high enough on the hill to allow a great panoramic view of the area. We stayed a week at the villa and never had any problems with the home, plus the nearby property manager was extremely helpful with questions about the villa and activities around Antigua. The attention to detail at the villa was surprising, with amenities being provided that we did not expect, including umbrellas, a beach tote and chairs, a picnic basket, flashlights, etc. It is a very quiet area, also, and the entrance to the area is guarded. It is important to note that the villa is very close to many restaurants in the area and also to a large supermarket, plus a short distance to many of the best beaches on the island. Location, location, location!! Combined with the beauty of the villa itself and its view, you cannot go wrong. It was also featured on the current cover of "Luxury Locations: The Magazine" while we were there! Imagine seeing the living room you are standing in on the cover of a magazine while you are in the home!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Incredible villa with a view that will take your breath away. From the moment we pulled up to this spectacular home we felt as if we had been transported to paradise. All the comforts of a home with a five star feel. The infinity pool seems to float on the edge of a panoramic view of the Jolly Harbor Area and beyond. Close proximity to numerous outstanding restaurants and a grocery store stocked with everything you might need should you want to enjoy the gourmet kitchen. Inside the home is impeccably kept with a decor reminiscent of an elegant yet relaxed tropical villa. Owner and manager were both available for any questions regarding the Island and property suggesting numerous places to visit and enjoy on the Island. We were so taken by this beautiful home that we altered our working schedules to extend the stay by 2 addition days. We will definitely return and would rate this property a 5 out of 5 in all areas. Only negative is that you will not want to leave! Thank you for a vacation we will always cherish.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

If you are looking for the WOW factor location then look no further. Stunning views and a villa that is furnished and equipped to the highest standard. Immaculate presentation and cleanliness throughout. The only problem is that it is impossible to capture the full Villa Seaglass magic in photographs! Would recommend in a heartbeat and hope to visit again some day. Nearby facilities of Jolly Harbor with bars, restaurants, shopping and beach all within walking distance or hire a golf cart for extra fun getting around. Castaways (owners recommendation) a real gem on the beach. For great lobster, try 'Miracles' just near the entrance to the villa road - fairly new family run and great choice of lobster dishes amongst other menu items. Beach itself is clear, blue water with fine white sand - great for a cooling dip, water sports or just relaxing, although its not easy to drag yourself away from the views over the entire bay and the pool at the villa. Owners extremely helpful and a pleasure to deal with. We felt very welcome from the moment we arrived and highly recommend this beautiful property.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

About the owner: We are Americans living in England. We wanted to buy a vacation home on a Carribean island and did our research. We decided to visit Barbados and Antigua in February 2011 and fell in love with the island of Antigua and its authentic Carribean charm. We love that its a direct flight from the East Coast of the United States and also a direct flight from the UK. This past summer, we went to North Carolina and had a blast picking out all of the lovely new furnishings that make Villa Seaglass feel like a welcoming home. Some day, we look forward to spending a lot of our retirement in Antigua and we hope to dock a small sail boat in Jolly Harbour one day. You'll probably notice that the kitchen has everything you need to make a lovely meal. I love to cook and am a professional floral designer.
Why the Owner Chose Jolly Harbour:
We bought our villa based on its location and an AMAZING view just as the developer had broken ground on the site. We had toured Antigua for a full five days prior, seeing dozens of places. Many were lovely, but the magic really happened when we set foot on the site of what is now Villa Seaglass. The proximity to all the amenities at the Sugar Ridge Hotel and Jolly Harbour, plus the piece of mind of being in a gated community with 24 hour security offered eveything we were looking for and more and did I mention..... The Views!
The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
The first thing I do when I wake up at Villa Seaglass is to open all the sliding glass doors and allow the lovely breezes to stir me awake. Then I put on a large pot of coffee using the local beans roasted on island. I like to make extra for an iced coffee in the afternoon. If I'm up before everyone, I'll grab my book and head out to the swinging hammock chair down in the gazebo. The gym at Sugar Ridge is airconditioned and well-equipped so If I'm being 'good' I'll head over there in my golf cart for an early morning work out. After that, we may check out one of the 365 beaches Antigua has to offer or go on a hike or check out some of the shopping in St John. I'm not a big drinker.. but when I'm in Antigua, 4:30 is frozen drink time at Villa Seaglass. The blender is FANTASTIC and I like to pick up local pinapples, bananas or mangoes at one of the many street vendors and wisk them up into a lovely smoothy or more likely a yummy frozen fruit and rum drink. If I'm in the mood to cook, Epicurean, the grocery store right across the street in Jolly Harbour has everything I may require, or we may check out one of the many lovely restaurants near by. So far my favorite is Sheer Rocks, in Coco Bay Resort (7 minute drive) or for something more casual, you can't beat the burger at Castaways down at Jolly Beach. Hint: If you tell the Jolly Beach Security Booth Guard that you're eating at Castaways, you can park right at the beach.... and who wouldn't want to at least get a drink or a nibble at Castaways? It's a great spot right on the beach!
