Tropical Paradise Steps to Beautiful Beach and Great Waves

We fell in love with El Zonte on our first trip here over 6 years ago and set up our home for the way we enjoy vacationing. The cultural norm in El Salvador is to have domestic help living at your beach house to wait on you around the clock. We really did not want or need this for ourselves, so we made a deal with the neighbors care takers to come in the morning and clean the yard, pool, do dishes, do laundry if needed, and clean inside once a week.

We also decided against having a cook as we like to surf when surf is good and eat when it is convenient rather than be stuck to a schedule or have to worry about communicating to somebody what we wanted to eat. When we dont feel like cooking we just walk accross the street to one of the many restaurants on our street. (There is also one that will deliver)

If you prefer to have a cook and staff around, there are some other great properties here in El Zonte that provide those services. I have had family members rent two of the three other homes available for rent here in El Zonte and they were both great and their cooks put out some great spreads. If you are looking for this type of around the clock service, feel free to contact me and I would be happy to recommend one of the other homes that provide this.

We like to keep things simple for you and thus include all the things most people might need. We provide bottled drinking water, toilet paper, all linens and towels, a computer with wireless internet service, a washing machine and detergent (you can do your own wash or have care takers do it for you) and a local cell phone with 30 minutes of calling to the US all at no charge. All our rooms including the living room have AC and we have a fully stocked kitchen. We have xm radio and a gas bbq. There are a variety of things to float on in the pool and we make some of our surf boards available for use. We also have a portable GPS with El Salvador maps if you rent a car.

The rooms are very large (about 400 sq' each). The bottom room has two full size beds and a futon that turns into a full. The living room also has a futon that turns into a full. The upstairs room has a queen and a set of bunks. It also has a nice balcony.

We have one of the best pools I have seen in El Salvador complete with swim up bar and table area built into the water. We also have a great shaded horse shoe pit.

Our yard is very tropical and private and we love the fact that we feel letting our 5 & 7 year olds play in the yard while we ralax. We have a number of kids toys and a pack and play if you have an infant. My kids often go play with the neighbor kids and my wife goes running most mornings and we always feel safe.

We love El Salvador and try to spend about three months here every year. We hope you like it as much as we do and would love to be a resource to you even if you choose to stay somewhere else:)
